Regarding the third bedroom, we do our best to represent the space in our listing and photos accurately. The captions note that the ceiling is slanted due to the roofline, and we recommend that room for children or teens. We had to smile at your grands calling it the “Hobbit room!” Others have called it a “man cave!” (Also, the condo is an interior unit, so the double sliding glass doors facing the gorgeous Gulf are the only windows.) We also appreciate the suggestion to have a vacuum available and will consider it.

We want to clarify a few points for future guests. The listing description and photos on VRBO are accurate and transparent. The sunset image referenced in your review (#32) was definitely taken from the balcony; with the exception of cloud patterns, the sunset is visible from a south-facing view. Regarding televisions, the condo currently has four TVs, with one smart TV. The others can easily be connected using an HDMI cord, which is convenient for streaming from personal devices. Our stay instructions outline the items we provide. While we include a variety of essentials, certain items like shampoo, conditioner, laundry detergent, and specific coffee preferences are considered personal items. We will continue evaluating what we offer. Also, our welcome binder notes our family’s favorite local restaurants, and our guest books with their Destin highlights are available to peruse. As for checkout, notifying our cleaning team helps our local husband-and-wife team manage their schedule efficiently and allows us to offer early check-in options on occasion for incoming guests, which you benefited from when arriving two hours early for your 4:00 p.m. check-in. We understand this may have felt like an extra step, and we will consider how to make this process smoother. We’re sorry your experience didn’t meet expectations. We have never received a review like yours. Over the past 15 years, we’ve hosted hundreds of guests and strive to provide a welcoming, well-maintained space for families to enjoy. We will continue improving our home-away-from-home and its amenities for future guests.
