Welcome to our home away from home We have been renting The Blue Pearl Cottage for 16 years , the cottage is open year round for weekly rentals

This Cozy Ocean View Cottage is located in the village of Camp Ellis Beach , A quaint family friendly fishing village. The cottage has wonderful ocean views from the Window seat , Dining area , Living room, Entry porch and some from the Master bedroom and Kitchen

You can see the Ocean across the street and can be accessed by walking down to the main beach area very easily , about a 1 minuet walk on s one way street , Camp Ellis Beach has moderate surf great for family's with small children , Great beach for walking , with its 7 miles of sandy beach , it is also Pet friendly

Walking distance to 1 restaurant , some gift shops , general store, Fresh Lobster market , mile long jetty, Boat launch and Docks , Fishing rod rentals, jet ski rentals, Para sailing , Deep Sea fishing charters, site seeing charters , kayak rentals

The Blue Pearl cottage was built in the 60s still has lots of it classic cottage beach charm old wood planking and nooks and crannies and itā€™s decorated in a nautical theme

The cottage is 900 sq ft with an open floor plan for better movement the cottage sleeps 5 in beds ,6 using futon sleepers in living room

The Summer time Sunrise Views are amazing and can be seen from the Window seat, Dining area , Living room and front entry porch see photos

Living room has Ocean Views, two futon couches and one chair , 46 inch flat screen TV/CABLE/ DVD and Internet service

Master Bedroom has a comfortable queen size bed TV/ Cable , see photos

Second Bedroom , Has Bunk Bed , comfortable FULL mattress on the bottom and comfortable Twin mattress on top , TV/ Cable , see photos

Fully stocked Kitchen we offer many supplies and appliances to make your stay feel like being at home lobster pot , drip coffee machine , Keurig coffee machine, toaster, microwave , glass flat top stove with oven, fridge with freezer , service for 6 and cooking utensils

Full size Bathroom Clean Shower/ Tub , Toilet and sink

Laundry room located off the bathroom , full washer / dryer

We do have a small screen porch on the back of the cottage

We do allow pets for an additional fee $100 and $50 for each additional pet Paid to us directly

We offer Linen rental :$50.00 one set of towels and bed linens for each person paid to us directly

Early entry $30 paid to us directly , 1:30 pm in stead of 3:00 pm
late departure $30 paid to us directly , 11:30 am in stead of 10:00 am

we have some beach toys and beach chairs for your use

We are licensed through the town of Saco and have a tax id number through the state of Maine

Our stay at the Blue Pearl was perfect. The views of the sunrise and the beach were amazing. We brought our dog and she loved it as well. The access to the beach was great. We loved that we could explore during the day and eat lunch out and then cook dinner at home. Sharon was accessible at all times and great to chat with. We will definitely stay here again.

Better than Great!!

July 21, 2014 Sharon, It was BETTER than GREAT!! Thank you so much for letting my family from Oklahoma stay at the cottage this last week! We could not have asked for a better time with my daughter, her husband, and the two young boys. The cottage was almost equal distance from both sets of in laws which made it very easy to see them and leave them during the day. We went whale watching, went to Palace Play Land, and into Portland a could of times but most of the time we spent playing on the beach... something very different than the flatlands of OK. The cottage was much more than described and included everything that was needed. The washer and dryer was very much appreciated as the kids could keep their clothes clean after playing in the sand or getting their ice cream from the general store each day before breakfast. I hope that your housekeeper reported we left the cottage as we found it. We tried very hard to treat everything as if it was our own with the hopes that the next family renting it would also appreciate their stay. Hope that rest of the summer stays sunny and warm for you and your renters just like the days we experienced. Randy M

Wonderful, peaceful and serene!

I LOVED the Blue Pearl Cottage and would definitely stay there again!! It was exactly as described in the listing and Sharon supplied everything we could ever possibly need to accommodate our stay including a very sweet welcome package that provided us with a travel mug and some laundry detergent as well as a mini-cooler lunch container. The view alone every morning looking out at the ocean was the best part, and being in easy walking distance of the local beach was perfect. The window seat was the BEST!!!! Everything was clean, there were directions on the fridge for everything and there were pamphlets for local attractions and contact numbers readily available. Sharon and her husband were ready with the few quick questions I had; they were very responsive. I cannot say how much I love the village of Camp Ellis. It was my second year staying there and I just adore it! I plan to come back every year! The only drawback I found was the bunk bed. If you have kids it is perfect. I was staying there with my friend and her husband and was hoping maybe to have another friend come down for a few days, but once I saw the bunk bed I realized that top bunk is really not intended for adults. So that was really the only thing that could have made it a little better would be maybe a trundle bed or 2 twin beds, but there's very little room on the top bunk for a regular adult. But it really looks like it is mostly set up for kids anyway. Overall it was a great week, a great location and a very relaxing time and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great, relaxing cottage at the beach. Thanks so much, Amy V. NH

The Blue Pearl was great and just what we were hoping for. We had to teach Walter (the doggo) to pee on the sand, but other than that all was golden! I'm hoping Sharon will be willing to welcome us back in the future!

The blue pearl cottage was exactly the way it was described to us. We found the cottage to be very relaxing and the view from the window seat was wonderful, a great place to read or take a nap. The kitchen was well supplied ,the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean, just what you would expect of a beach house.. The neighborhood was friendly and the fishing pier was fun to visit. You could watch the ocean waves all day and the beach was a short walk from the cottage. This a destination that we would recommend to anyone .

Love The Blue Pearl!

I have enjoyed coming here for the last five summers and will be back again in 2017. The first year we had 7 of us (5 adults and 2 children), and we were all comfortable. Subsequent years have been either four or five of us. It has become an annual trip for myself and grandchildren. We have never been disappointed. Each year, I dream about the next visit. It rejuvenates me. I donā€™t even know where to begin about why we love the Blue Pearl so much. Maybe it is the view, maybe it is the quiet, maybe it is the beach, or the lobsters. Whatever it is, we love it and keep coming back. Sharon is wonderful to work with and is quick to reply to emails and answer questions. The cottage is exceptionally well-maintained. The location is practically perfect with ementies available at the General Store and a major grocery store a short drive away. And of course, there is the beach! The beach is amazing with incredible sunrises and sunsets. (Be prepared to be awoken in awe if you are sleeping on the futons.) My grandkids are on the beach most days for the entire day. We also love to go back at sunset and walk the shoreline. The cottage kitchen is stocked with most common appliances, dishes, pots and pans, etc. The directions are easy to find if you are unfamiliar with a particular appliance. There are also toys and chairs for the beach. As others have said, there are plenty of pamphlets available to see what is in the area. If it is rainy and you are inside, you still get to enjoy watching the beach or playing games or cards around the table while watching the rain. It is always a treasure to be at the Blue Pearl. The pictures are accurate as is the description. Do think about the top bunk if you are planning on renting for seven adults or adults and teens. However, the large futon could sleep 2. I am so glad that I found the Blue Pearl. It has brought me and my family tremendous joy. We have made so many wonderful memories there.

70th Birthday vacation

A marvelous ocean view from the front windows of this charming cottage was the perfect way to celebrate my mom's 70th birthday. The cottage was well maintained, clean, comfortable, cozy and located a stones throw from the beach. Sharon was wonderful to provide us with answers to many questions about local sites and happenings as it had been 28 years since our last vacation in Camp Ellis. The sunrises were breathtaking and low tide provided many treasures to be found and long walks to enjoy. Looking forward to renting again and again in the years to come. Blue Pearl Cottage

The cottage is a small, modest accommodation close to the beach with a view. Although it says it will sleep 7, we three adults felt at capacity. The main bed was comfortable for two, but sleeping on the full size (lower) bunk mattress was intolerable; I had to move out to the living area and use the futon - which is not a bed noted for great comfort. The bunk mattress is thin, no box spring or topper and I could feel each metal slat of the bunk frame. Kids might not mind this, but it is not for an adult. The kitchen had all the small appliances we needed. This is the first beach cottage I have rented that charged for providing linens and paper products. We brought our own, but that was a hassle and the weekly rental fee was high enough, plus a cleaning fee, to have covered those amenities. The local restaurants (walking distance) were fair at best and the small general store was no better. Be sure to bring what you need or plan to go to the large store on the main highway into town. We drove to several of the Audubon wildlife areas for interesting walks after local beach strolls. Old Orchard Beach amusement park is for folks who can tolerate tacky. Lastly, you will note that in the property photos on the web site there are none of the building exterior. We missed having a comfortable porch to sit outside and eat, read, talk, play, etc. The entry 'porch' of the cottage is not set up for much use - it's more of a place to take off sandy shoes.

We have enjoyed our STAYS at both the Blue Pearl and ClamShell numerous times. After many searches and other stays in this area, this home away from home hits the mark. Spectacullar view of the ocean just a few feet away condones a great read on the window bench. Great ammennties too. We have stayed at the Pearl during spring, fall, and winter. Peace and solitude for walks,relaxarion, and to destress. We are happy reapeat renters for about 6 years. You may inquire as to why a belated review . . . .we guess we wanted to keep this oyster to ourselves. The only flaw is the raised master bed resulting in difficulty getting in/out

rented this for several years on labor day week great location and view close to beach cottage was always clean! owner made improvements each year all my guests liked it the pictures show exactly how only reason im not back is I moved to south fla. where its always summer this place is the real deal got mad when I saw the one negative bogus review have rented others this is the best

Blue Pearl Disappointment

Pros: beautiful views; close proximity to the ocean; miles of beach a few streets away; Wormwood's restaurant around the block; very nice Saco locals; pet friendly accommodations; centrally located to many of Maine's more attractive cities (like Kennebunkport and Ogunquit). Cons: The most uncomfortable bed my husband & I have ever encountered while on vacation (we have been vacationing for over 16 years together); a strong petroleum type odor emanating from the laundry room; disconcertingly dirty upon arrival (had to scrub the tub, toilet, sink and had to sweep all rooms in an attempt to corral all of the dirt & sand); master bed was unbelievably sandy upon initial inspection and to our chagrin, the bed also contained the previous renter's dirty underwear; old hair and dust rolled across floors tumbleweed style in every room. Wifi was advertised as being available but it clearly was not and there was a handwritten notice near the router that said the owner was not responsible for renters not being able to connect to the Internet. The electrical integrity of this property is so questionable that I felt unsafe. While reading on the windowseat, a centipede about 6 inches long crawled out of the sill and onto my arm. That event made me so leery of our surroundings that we dumped all our luggage and bags out onto the hood of the car before departure to make sure we weren't bringing centipedes back home to our clean house. The broken window (clearly busted for some time as the duct tape meant to secure a piece of plastic onto it was old and weathered and the makeshift wrap was flapping in the breeze) on the front porch was fairly representative of the whole place not only because it let in birds & critters but also because it totally gave the sad first impression of an badly kept shack, not a 'cottage' as advertised. We figure the photos on vrbo are at least 8 to 10 years old because they look pretty and fresh but this place is sadly worn. Bottom line: we paid for a week and left after 3 days despite the fact that this was our only planned 'away' vacation this year. In speaking with other local renters we found that ours was, regrettably, a unique experience and most rental (managed by realtors) properties in Saco seem to be well maintained and clean. We have used vrbo in the past and had perfectly beautiful results but now we're reconsidering this way of doing business. We will likely only deal with rental agencies from now on. So sad...so sad.

My sister and I stayed at the Blue Pearl for one week in August '09 ,we parked our car when we got there and didn't move it until the sad morning when we had to leave. We have made reservations for two weeks this coming August.I think this speaks for itself.

Camp Ellis Beach is family friendly, has a gentle surf is great for small children, 7 mile of sandy beach, longest in Maine, close to everything

great for older renters who can not walk on busy streets

electic fireplace in winter and fall, large flat screen TV/CABLE/ INTERNET AND A PHONE WITH LOCAL AND LONG DISTANCE

Why would you want to be far from the ocean when you can be this close
