Location, Location, Location.... just a little over an hour from DC and Baltimore, Our Cozy Home is about a 5 minute walk to the beautiful Shenandoah and Potomac rivers. Also, about a 5 minute walk to the Appalacian Trail and 10 minutes to Historic Downtown Harpers Ferry. Close to many Local Wineries and Breweries! If the Mountains, Rivers, and hiking is not enough excitement; Charles Town's Hollywood Casino is less than a ten-minute drive away!!

Home Features 2 Master Suites: Furnished bedrooms with a Full bath attached to each. Also a half bath off foyer. Large living Room, walk out patio, and 9 foot Ceilings. Great Accommodations for romantic getaway, or families, couples, kayakers, hikers, cycling, history buffs, or anyone who loves beautiful views, lots to do, and wonderful scenery. Has a Fireplace; but currently not in use due to Insurance reasons. FREE WIFI.
My Home will sleep 4 people comfortably: One Queen bed in each bedroom. We can also provide an Queen Air mattress which can be used in the LR downstairs to sleep an additional couple or kids.

Kitchen is fully equipped (pots/pans/dishes), and also includes small appliances stocked with spices, paper, etc.

House is Furnished with Ceramic Tile floors in kitchen, dishwasher, washer and dryer and other accommodating features.

The Marc Train to the Washington DC Union Station is only a few minutes drive away. Charles town Racing and Hollywood Casinos and All Major shopping included Walmart is 10 minutes drive.

We had no problems communicating with the host or checking into the property. He was very responsive. The problem was the appearance of the property. It needs a big refresh. Here are a few of the issues: The bedding looked old and somewhat stained - we wondered whether it had been changed between guests. The carpet looked like it had not been cleaned in years. The outdoor patio, referenced in the description, was very cluttered with junk and dirty. The bathroom sink stopped-up on the first use. The air mattress did not hold air and deflated while sleeping on it. The internet was very slow and spotty. One positive - the location was very convenient to Harper's Ferry.

We strive for complete comfort and cleanliness. As you can see in many of our reviews, other guests remark that our place is very clean and comfortable. All linens and towels are laundered and fresh and changed between every guest stay. The carpet has been routinely cleaned and is vacuumed before every guest checks in. The patio furniture is Outdoor furniture; sorry, but it often gets covered by pollen right after we clean it this time of year. The sink stopper was down, the sink not clogged. We provide an air mattress per guest request. We were not aware of a leak. The air mattress has been removed and will be checked. Finally, we have no control over WiFi issues. Last time a guest called us with issues, we contacted the service provider and they identified the problem as a local network issue in area and resolved it promptly. As stated, most of our guests have had a great experience staying with us. We are not perfect, but we do strive to provide excellent service and comfort.

This is all about the location. Great location walkable to Harpers Ferry which is why we booked here. The house itself is ok. Needs new carpet and some updates . We noticed our clothing gathered pet hair as we sat on furniture

Sorry for the problem. Our previous guest did not inform us of having pets. Our house keepers must not have thoroughly checked and cleaned the couch and loveseat. I will inform them to be sure to check after every guest.

Great Location

Quick to downtown, “The Barn” right around the corner was a great spot. Easy access to main highways to hop over to other towns and wineries in the area.

The house was spacious and we were able to easily fit 6 people. The host was flexible and able to make some last minute accommodations for our stay.

Snow tubing and hiking

Great location for our kids and animal friends to enjoy harpers ferry. We enjoyed snow tubing and hiking. Definitely recommend for families!

The home was great for our group of 6. It was also close to many of the local attractions. About a 5 minute drive to the main town and 10 minutes from tubing and the local brewery.

Great weekend getaway

This property was in a perfect location, convenient to lower HF, trails, the national park, breweries and restaurants. Beds and pillows were comfortable and the owner supplied towels, coffee, toilet paper, etc. The neighborhood was quiet as well. A great overall stay.

Great stay

Duplex is exactly as advertised. Nice, clean, and nice safe area. River rafting is within a mile. Harpers ferry lower town is a mile hike on Appalachian Trail. I would stay again if in the area.

The property is very close to the Harpers Ferry town and National Park and we liked that it is pet friendly. Unfortunately it has not ben maintained. The blinds had missing or broken slates (5- 6 slates missing from the living room vertical blinds) and missing or non-working control arms to adjust the blinds. The furnace filter (in the ceiling of the 2nd floor) had not been changed in months - fortunately I found a new one in the laundry and replaced the one clogged with a thick layer of grime and dust. Rusty floor vents in the bathroom, bathtub stained and discolored, grime and dust clogging the bathroom fan. The side patio may have been nice, but it was covered with debris from the recent weed whacking (the peeling paint and rotting wood around the door weren't very attractive either). We could see that the L/R carpet was vacuumed, but no amount of vacuuming will remove the grime - I'm not sure a shampoo will help at this point. And, don't look under the sofa cushions - ick! Don't look at the mattress cover - the stains tell many stories. Pots needed to be cleaned before they could be used. Internet is slow and drops out often (don't bother trying to stream).

Wow, let me start by saying I have never had a guest get a screwdriver and ladder to go around the house and check every air filter. And then, proceed to inspect every aspect of the house to fill out a complaint list that is not even true. In fact, they never contacted us to complain about any problems while there.The air filters are changed on a regular basis. They were due to be changed in June, that is why the filter was in laudry room. Before every guest arrives, the house is cleaned. We clean every counter top, every sink, scrub the toilets, showers, and clean/polish the tables. The entire house us freshly vacuumed. We just cleaned the carpets about a month ago, but admit they need replaced. We have set up 3 different contractors, and thus far, non have shown up to do the job. The carpet IS CLEAN though. All the Linens, mattress coversand Towels are laundered after every stay, and there ARE NOT ANY STAINS on the matress covers. The grass waa cut right before guest arrived and clipping were swept out of patio, however, we had some very windy days and I am guessing some grass blew back onto patio. All dishes, pots and pans are washed in dishwasher by previous guest and put away by them obviously, a dishwasher may not get everything spotless, even though it is new. The patio door trim does need painted. I am doing it this week. If you read our post reviews, you will see that most people comment the house is clean and cozy. I have never had a guest go through the house to find as many things as the could to complain about, (some true, most not). I really wonder if they were paid by other host competitor in this area? Anyway, the carpet will be replaced soon, painting door trim done, and bathroom vents cleaned and/or replaced.

Short notice

We planned our trip last minute and the property owners were very quick getting back to us. We pulled our travel trailer w/ us and they were nice enough to let us park it at their farm. The property is in a quiet neighborhood and close to all the happenings. When we are back in the area we will definitely be booking here! Thanks for everything guys!

Very pretty area, a little tricky since the roads near the residence are really only for one car. We have a big pick up so we were very careful coming and going.

Overall a good stay

The house needs a little TLC but served it’s purpose for us. For folks with mobility issues that have a dog be aware the backyard is on a steep incline. The two master bedrooms with baths was a real plus. The kitchen was well appointed with gadgets and there were plenty of bath towels.

Described accurately, to a "T."

Beautifully set in the mountains a stone's throw away from Historic Harper's Ferry, this 2 bedroomm 2 1/2 bath is the perfect getaway with all the trimmings in the surrounding area, theres a casino, shopping, Historic area, bars and restaurants; thetsalso peace and quiet... couldn't ask for any better and the owner/manger is very responsive... I give 5 stars...

The location was on a steep hill, but the driveway was not bad at all. The home needs a deep cleaning. Especially the patio area. The grass was overgrown and no landscaping at all. Many of the light bulbs didn't work and the bedroom door of one of the bedrooms wouldn't close. There was dog hair on the pillowcases and one tub had hair in it. This place could be awesome with a little TLC Just needs some sprucing up and updates. But overall, it was not a bad place .

Sorry for any problems. I will speak with housekeeping manager. Most guest exclaim how clean and tidy our home is. Several lamps need wall swith turned on AND lamp switch turned on to work. There are extra light bulbs in kitchen cabinet.
