Great community with wooded area and lots of nature. Be prepared to pay to enter the community since the dork at the gate required it even though notes state that the pass is inside the cottage.

Another great vacay in Sea Pines

This was our third visit to a Night Heron property in Sea Pines. As always, it provided a very family friendly location that's close to everything you'd need for a relaxing, beach trip. The property is well kept and check-in/communication with property manager was smooth. Sea Pines is beautiful, and to my mind, the best location in HH. Definitely recommend.

Great stay - cottage is upgraded from last year!

This cottage has been improved since my first stay last year. It has been refreshed (paint, flooring, deck cleaned, new deck furniture, etc.). The property managers have done a super job with this property.

Heritage week

This place met all our needs. Clean, well equipped, with just enough space for the two of us. Close to Harbor Town and Coligny. Near the South Forrest Beach entrance. We would book again.

Overall pleasant experience but could use a deep clean

Our stay at the cottage at Night Heron was overall a pleasant one. Itā€™s a great location in Sea Pines (~10 min walk to the beach). Itā€™s small but perfect for a couple. However, it could use with a deep clean. Everything appears clean at first glance but a few surfaces were sticky and there were dead ants strewn throughout the living room and kitchen.

Highly Recommend!

Great property and perfect for the 2 of us and our dog. This place had everything we needed, pool was close and the beach path was right across the street which was a nice surprise. The bungalow was tucked away from the street within the woods which was so cool! If interested in Coligny, would recommend renting bikes, but it was only a 10-15 ride and you could take the path which made it a nice ride. The listing did not include pictures of the bathroom, but it was somewhat updated and had plenty of space to get ready. Overall, the property was very clean, great location, and very fun. Would stay again for our next trip. Thank you!

SLUMMING IN PARADISE

The property is about 1/2 mile walk to the beach. We were greeted with roaches and ants, owner had the place treated but, it was bad. The place could have been adorable but, it was just plain run down. There was no comfortable place to sit. Things are broken and not fixed. We were very disappointed and strongly recommend you book elsewhere. We gave it 2 stars for location.

Great location, just okay stay

This is my favorite area to stay in Hilton Head. This particular condo needs a deep clean. I contemplated having cleaners come back but decided against because it needs a lot of attention. ā€œPalmetto Beetlesā€ or cockroaches were in the shower and kitchen from time to time. The couch is pretty nasty and needs a deep clean. The kitchen is outdated and refrigerator did take about 48 hours to re-cool my food. In the home manual I was aware of the refrigerator and beetle situation. However, I didnā€™t feel comfortable with how room temperature my food was getting. Also, in the manual the owners state the beetles are everywhere and that they are not cockroaches. Iā€™ve been going to Hilton Head for 20 years and staying in this same area without ever seeing one before. Upon further investigation, they are in fact cockroaches. I would say this place has a bit of an infestation.

In bad need of an update

The first thing I noticed when walking into the rental was the musty smell. The second was how outdated everything was. It doesnā€™t look like itā€™s had any updates to it in 15 years or more. The couch was terribly worn and uncomfortable. The bed was worn out and the carpet in the bedroom was so old and didnā€™t feel clean. The house is in desperate need of a deep clean as well. There was an incredible amount of dust on the chandelier over the table and on all the artificial flowers. Itā€™s a cute space and really just needs some attention. Itā€™s in a great location, close to restaurants, shops, and a short walk to the beach. Itā€™s very quiet in Night Heron and the pool was a nice touch. The owners were very quick at responding to my questions I had. We had a nice vacation but it could have been made a lot better if the place was cleaner (our clothes even smelled of must when we got home) and had more comfortable furniture. Sea Pines itself is beautiful!

Disappointing

We are finding that the yurt properties on night heron are going down hill on their upkeep. We have stayed in several 1 bedroom yurts and property 13 was in a sorry state. The flooring in the kitchen area is coming up, the couch is filthy and very uncomfortable. The rugs need to be replaced, If it were my property i would be embarrassed to rent it out. We love hilton head but we will be looking elsewhere for rentals.

Best of both worlds

I read a review that said they felt like they were in the jungle, not the beach. That is the whole point of Night Heron! The trees, the lagoons, the wildlife, it feels like you are part of nature, in a home, and not in a tourist destination or resort (even though it's both). You can get places like that but not that are also a five minute walk to the beach and so reasonable in price. Mind you, this bungalow is old and not in pristine condition, it has a few cosmetic issues and the floor in the bathroom shows where there was water at some point, and so forth, but it's clean and safe, just cosmetic. I told the property manager a light didn't work and the handyman was there the next day. A ceiling fan is stuck on low but I imagine that is a bigger fix and at least it was spinning! There was a fan beneath the bed that served me just fine. Just what I was looking for!

Overall nice cottage

The cottage met expectations of advertisement. Very close and convenient walk to the beach. Had problem with internet service. This was resolved by the property manager almost immediately. They were very responsive. Overall, great stay.

The property is in a very nice area close to beach but not on the beach. The bungalow was very cute and cozy. I hope the owners change the bed mattress is was very uncomfortable, lumpy, and the bed sheets kept coming off and there was no mattress cover very unsanitary. The couch needs cleaning it smelled and felt dirty. The bungalow had roaches. It was not infested but enough that we shook out our belongings before taking them in house. They should exterminate

Quiet oasis in Sea Pinesā€¦.

We just returned from a fabulous week in Sea Pines! My husband and I have been vacationing there for over 30 years and we must say that this cozy, little home was just great for its location and privacy. The home is small but it grew on us and our 4 legged baby within a few days. The only negative we had is the sofa is in need of an upgrade and maybe a nice leisure chair but beyond that everything inside was greatā€¦.our favorite spot though,ā€¦the deckā€¦recently rebuilt and quite cozy and quiet. We also loved being able to cross the main road and have a super beach access path..door to sandā€¦5 minutes! Sweet! We would definitely recommend for a couple and we will be looking forward to our next visit there.
