Totem House- Meredith Lodging

Looking for a happy-go-lucky beach holiday? Come try a stay at Totem House, a five-bedroom retreat to help you get away from your routine on the wide, sandy beach at Tierra Del Mar, just north of Pacific City. With two living areas and a second kitchen, Totem House is more than comfortable for 9 and makes it easy to invite family and friends to join you for relaxing fun at the beach. Downstairs the kids will flip for the fun filled bonus room with TV/DVD, an impressive DVD library and board game collection, a foosball table and lots of seating for family togetherness. The adjoining kitchenette can keep them happily supplied with snacks. Upstairs, a giant wooden totem oversees the living/dining room and points out to the amazing ocean view to the west. Views of Haystack Rock to the south and Tillamook Head to the north join up miles of sandy beach with the endless Pacific meeting the sky. You can cozy up to the electric fireplace and watch TV, enjoy a meal at the dining table or putter in the fully equipped kitchen. Or head out the sliding doors to the wrap-around deck with its built-in picnic table and walk a few feet to a trail through dune grass to the beach. Your Tierra del Mar location puts you minutes away from a grocery store or Pacific City’s Pelican Pub—or drive north to the dunes at Sandlake, Cape Lookout, Oceanside and many other unique destinations on the north coast. For the best in laid-back fun with easy access to the beach, book this beauty!

Comfortable beach vibes!

The house was right on the beach with great views. The 5 bedrooms easily accommodated our party of 7 adults. The house has a worn, comfortable vibe, and was clean and well appointed. The location felt remote, which provided the peace and quiet we were looking for.

Beach house

We live this location. The views and beach access were wonderful. We stayed in one of the uostairs bedrooms and was very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed and the home was very clean. The beach is the backyard. We loved our stay and would definately stay again.

The View

This house was everything we could ask for. I have never rented a place on the beach and this was amazing. We basically had the beach to ourselves most of the time. Just sitting on that deck in the sunshine and hearing the birds and the ocean was so relaxing. Yes the house needs some update but then I would probably wouldn’t have been able to afford it. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay.

Milestone Birthday

Beautiful View, comfortable. It can use some updating and fixing of blinds in bedrooms because we had to put a blanket over the sliding door in our room so no one could see in, outside deck steps and wood planks because of exposed nails. My family and I enjoyed our visit.

Amazing view, classic Oregon beach house

The location of this home and the view out the back windows is amazing beyond words. It was perfect for an Oregon beach getaway because even during stormy moments we could thoroughly enjoy watching the ocean. Close to Lookout point hike, the sand dune, and the stores in Pacific City if you need anything. The property is as described and is a little dated in looks but it's very functional. All the couches and chairs are comfortable to sit on and enjoy times with your family. There was plenty of room for our family of 7. We mostly stayed on the top floor so we could enjoy the amazing view. Lots of games at the home that we tried out and it was nice having a washing machine/dryer. Being able to have our dogs with us was a bonus. Management company was a bit stingy with the soap as we only got two small bars to cover all the bathroom sinks, showers, and kitchen. They did bring us washcloths as enough were not left for our entire group. I loved our time at Totem House!

Great Spot

Great spot with easy beach access. The home had everything we needed for a 3 day weekend with family and friends. Property management was responsive to any questions. Don’t forget to visit the Pier Ave.Rock shop for a great experience with the kids.

Perfect getaway

The totem house was fantastic. Cool and quirky, the house has tons of space and everything we needed. The ocean view could not be more amazing, and having the beach as our “backyard” was priceless. The whole family including our furry friends loved it. We had a great time, and will definitely stay there again.

Great location at the beach

The location can’t be beat. Right on the beach with easy access. The home is outdated and the beds feel old and you can feel the springs in some of them. In general there is a lot of room for some upgrades by the property owner. That being said, we would stay here again just for the beach view and access. We had a great time!

Great beachside house

Came with friends for a quiet getaway on the coast, this house was perfect for just that! Easy to find, great driveway, huge deck, great common spaces and perfect kitchen. We would definitely stay again!

My family has stayed at the Totem House multiple times and truly love it. The beach access and ocean views alone mark this property at five stars. Well equipped, comfortable home with space for a multigenerational getaway. Thanks for continuing to host!!

Wonderful location_ property in desperate need of refurbishment and care

Stayed at the Totem House in Tierra Del Mar for two nights from 22nd to 24th of June. The property is right on the beach in a truly privileged location a few minutes drive to Pelican Brewery, local cafe and store and Pacific City. The house is well overdue for a makeover. Strong smells all over the house made for a not very pleasant stay. The refrigerator on the second floor emanated a smell of rotten fish and the one on the first floor had rust in the freezer. Both need to be replaced. Electric range upstairs had only partial number of stoves working - also need to be replaced. Carpet shows age and smells aged as well - please replace it for the sake of your future customers. Faucets in the upstairs bathroom did not have hot water running and the cold water faucet barely trickled A few drops … Called the management office to ask for repair - no crew available on Thursday late afternoon with the promise to send someone as early as possible the next day… the repair person never showed up and zero follow up from Meredith Lodging. This property is well overpriced for the quality and comfort it presently offers. We recommend the area and town but definitely do not recommend the property and/or the property management company. Please invest in a house that deserves better and that should offer a better experience to its guests - It will be a win for all involved. Our advice is to avoid renting this property until renovated!

This is an older property, but very well cared for and updated. Very clean. Well stocked kitchen. Great beach access and location. Worked well for our family of 10.

Spectacular View of the Ocean

The home is clean and spacious. The beach access is right off the deck and there is nothing better than sitting in the family room watching the surf and waves. We had a great time. Too short but great.

Exceeded expectations

The advertisement did not do full justice to the wonderful, size, functionality, layout, and location, absolutely great! Garbage can was very full when we arrived. Upper level east bedroom's electrical outlets do not hold cord plugs very well. Kitchen is awesome! We had a wonderful time and will consider this house for our next family gathering at the coast!

Beautiful location

A comfortable house with plenty of room for lots of family. Really well stocked kitchen with everything we could have needed in equipment. Not a fancy or brand new place, but comfortable. The second family room was great for the teens. Lots of movies and games provided which was a nice touch. And gorgeous beach views from the upper level. Really enjoyed our stay here. Pacific City was very close for small grocery trips.

A week at the beach

The totem house met all our needs as a big family getaway for Spring break. The downstairs were great for the kids w/ a foosball & tv & a kitchen for snacks. The upstairs has big views of the ocean & the main kitchen w/ everything you could need. Thanks for the memories.
