Donald, we want all of our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, we saw that you booked through VRBO and you were allowed to book for 2 nights. I don't know why it allowed this as we have a 3-night minimum. We wish you had contacted either VRBO or Evolve to see what was going on, but everything Evolve has confirmed was that your booking was for 2 nights, not three. We're sorry that you didn't find our home to your liking and that you had issues with the booking. We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests. We will continue to deliver those 5-star experiences we are known for.

“Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear your stay did not meet expectations. The home is professionally cleaned and inspected between guests, and the property is treated regularly by a pest control service as part of ongoing maintenance. We wish we had been made aware of these concerns during your stay, as the local team would have been happy to assist and address any issues as quickly as possible. We’ve since followed up with the team to review the home again, including the WiFi and TV services, which were functioning properly. As the property is located in a rural setting, outdoor insects can occasionally be present despite regular preventative treatments. We appreciate your feedback as we continue working to provide a positive guest experience.”

From the owners: "Marsha, we understand there was an issue with the pool. The pool company and our maintenance team thought there was a chemical problem. We switched pool companies and it was the sand filter with the problem. We have since replaced the complete pool system pump and filter. We now use a 5 star pool company for all our pool and spa needs. Your money was refunded. We truly are sorry for your inconvenience."

From the owner: "Kimberly, thank you for choosing Carter's Hideaway. I appreciate your kind words and return visit to our cabins. I understand your frustration with the pool. Due to severe thunderstorms with high winds in the area and power outages, our pool pump's programming was lost. I called our pool company and another local pool company, but neither was available to assist with our pool. The third pool company was 4 hours away in Richmond. They reprogrammed the pool pump. The pool is now fully operational It was nice speaking with you. I look forward to your return visit at Carter's Hideaway."
