Welcome to Casa de Gallegos, a charming home nestled in the quiet Los Cedros neighborhood in southwest Santa Fe. Surrounded by mature trees and offering easy access to Interstate 25, US 84/285, and Cerrillos Road, this inviting retreat is perfect for travelers seeking comfort and convenience. Built in 1967, Casa de Gallegos exudes warmth and character with its original hardwood floors in the main areas and laminate flooring in the kitchen and den. The three-bedroom layout includes two queen-sized beds and a full-size bed, all outfitted with quality cotton linens to ensure a restful night’s sleep. Relax in the welcoming living room, furnished with a leather couch and two side chairs, or unwind in the den, featuring a cozy couch and two recliners—perfect for watching satellite TV on Dish Network. The fully stocked kitchen boasts a ceramic four-burner cooktop, separate oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave, along with ample cookware, dishes, and glassware for home-cooked meals. Gather around the dining table for six or enjoy casual bites at the breakfast counter for two.
This home is equipped with central heating and air conditioning, ensuring year-round comfort. The master bathroom features a walk-in shower, while the hallway bathroom offers a tub-shower combination. A washer and dryer adds extra convenience. The house was clean, but all the furniture is from the last century and mismatched. A lot of personal items and dust collectors are in the house.The roof leaked, but the owner sent someone right away to repair. The house offered Dish TV & WiFi, but you couldn’t CAST or stream movies. Not a house for just relaxing, but great if you just need a clean place to stay in the city.

Quiet and spacious

The house gave our family of six to spread out comfortably. Quiet location not far from community courts and parks. Easy driving to various hiking spots!

Perfect for extra family visitors

The house is cozy & very clean. The kitchen is well-equipped & the washer/dryer are conveniently located. The neighborhood is very safe although the streets are a little confusing. Downtown Santa Fe & the Plaza are not far but you need a car to get there. The hostess is very responsive but we never actually met her because everything went so smoothly. It worked out perfectly my extended family members over the Xmas holidays.

A Visit to Grandma's

That's the best way I can describe this rental. It was just like going to Grandma's house. The house is very warm and inviting. You can almost smell the chocolate chip cookies when you arrive. But like Grandma's. trhere are a few issues. The plumbing is a little wonky (don't take a shower while the dishwasher is running). The beautiful wood floors are pretty creaky. And there are LOTS of tchotchkes. It's kind of tough to find a place to put your stuff down, because every horizontal surface is covered. But those issues don't really affect my review that much. As I said at the beginning, the house was warm and inviting and we were perfectly comfortable there. The location is great, a safe-feeling neighborhood about 10 minutes from downtown. There was plenty of room for 5 people to spread out. We had a great battle to the death, playing Sorry at the dining room table.

Friends reunion

Loved staying in this quiet neighborhood with a bedroom for each of us. Cozy and comfortable and accessible to all the areas in Santa Fe. They gave us a great recommendation for a delicious Mexican Food restaurant and we went back there twice. Santa Fe is a must see and we enjoyed a day trip to Taos.

A great stay in the SW

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Santa Fe. The house was clean and as advertised. Wanette was very helpful, getting crib sheets and a new iron as soon as we needed it. Convenient location. All in all, a great experience for us

Ski trip

The property was nice and clean. Location was great right in the middle of nice restaurants and tourist attractions. We had a great time at Santa Fe ski resort as well Which was about a 45 minute drive. Would like to stay here again, thanks for having us.

Sister's trip

We are three sisters who meet somewhere every year. We chose Santa Fe this year and wanted to stay in a house. Casa Gallegos was perfect. It was a short distance out of town but easy to get to. The house was very comfortable and well supplied. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Santa Fe first timers for ski

We arrived with our 3 boys ages 10-14 for their first ski/snowboard trip. Plenty of space for all of us and property was super clean, check in & out a breeze. Host was very communicative and went ABOVE & BEYOND trying to help us out as we were experiencing major car trouble! Only complaints would be 1) booked this property in large part for the fireplace, which is not in working order (and based on reviews, I don’t think it has been for quite sometime). I feel it should be removed from the listing as it’s a bit misleading. 2) the neighborhood is not one I’d feel comfortable letting my kids play out front or ride bikes, etc. 3) couch in main living area desperately needs to be replaced. Also, know that the floors are very creaky! Could be an issues with super earlier risers (mom & dad) and late night scavengers (teen), lol! Did not bother us much as we understood the property was older, part of the charm! But, could be problematic for super light sleepers, family with babies/small children, etc. We typically prefer more pedestrian friendly locations. So, I think I may choose something closer to the plaza next time, and closer for our jaunt up the mountain as well. No reflection on the property though - I just should have done better research ;) Again, host was SO so sweet and helpful, and even checked on us after our departure. Really appreciated that!!

Nice place

Nice place. Hosts were very nice, though once we got in we didn't need anything from them. We selected this location so that we could take our kids to ski Santa Fe for a couple of days and it was perfect. Well furnished. Kitchen has pretty much anything you need. The fireplace was one of the reasons we chose this (we like to make s'mores in the fire place) but it was out of service. If this is important to you make sure and ask about it before booking.

Santa Fe Home Review

It was a nice and clean home but it was definitely an older home. Nicest home in the neighborhood tho! Only complaint was the beds were not very comfortable so we didnt sleep very well unfortunately!

The place was comfortable and we were all able to relax. The location is convenient with easy access to restaurants, downtown, highway, pretty much anything you need. We would stay there again for sure. Communication was fabulous!

Perfect family stay in Santa Fe

Location was great for some walks around the neighborhood with our kiddos and also easy access to downtown, plenty of restaurant options nearby as well. Wanette was very quick to respond. The house was incredibly clean and had plenty of space for our group of six. Thanks for letting us stay!

Great house for a family get together.

The property was clean and in very good condition. It was perfect for our family get together. We found it easy to get downtown as well as all the other places we wanted to go such as Bandelier and Los Alamos. We would definitely stay there again.

Unique Southwestern Stay!

Located in a quiet neighborhood - the house was clean with a lot of space to get cozy & enjoy family time! At times it was like stepping back in time and the artifacts & knick knacks reminded me of my mother’s home!!! Management was very cordial, helpful and I would recommend this property for family stay

Great sized house in Santa Fe

This is a fully furnished house, including lots of home decorations. It had everything we needed for a Thanksgiving stay. The check-in process was really easy and the owner was very nice.

Both my husband and I were born and raised here in New Mexico. We are in our mid 80's with 2 married children. We have 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. We love to travel and have been blessed to see many beautiful parts of the world. There is still no place lovelier than Santa Fe and we hope to share our love of Santa Fe and its surrounding area with our guests.

This home was formerly owned by our son-in-law's parents. The home was built in 1967 in the Los Cedros subdivision in the southwest part of Santa Fe. The home was lovingly cared for and the area is a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. It is wonderful place for a small family to enjoy while they are visiting and exploring Santa Fe and the surrounding area. It would be a great place for long-term vacationers as well.

Easy access to downtown Santa Fe, Museum Hill, St. John's College, Santa Fe University of Art & Design. Shopping, grocery stores and locally owned and chain restaurants not found in the downtown area are nearby. Close to the Genoveva Chavez Community Center. There are two city parks nearby both within walking distance. Interstate 25 and US 84/285 are minutes away.
