Spectacular Family-Friendly Log Cabin Style Home Near Grand Lake /Rocky Mtn NP!

You and your family will create untold wonderful memories in our beautiful, spacious home! Located five minutes from both Grand Lake and the western entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park, you will find everything you need for an unforgettable getaway. On the main floor, a well-stocked, beautifully renovated kitchen opens into a spacious great room with a stone fireplace that provides the perfect amount of warmth and a dining room with table that easily seats 10. A large but cozy master bedroom and an ensuite bathroom complete the floor. Two comfortable bedrooms and an entertainment-area loft are found on the upper floor and the basement features a bunk room that can contain all the kids (or adults too!).

Especially in the summer, you will enjoy the outdoor decks – a large one in the front, equipped with a barbecue grill and plenty of seating, and a smaller one in the back with spectacular views of Mount Baldy.

Hiking, golfing, snowmobiling (you can ride in and out to many accessible trails), cross country skiing, water activities at Grand Lake and the incredible beauty of the Rocky Mountains are all at your fingertips. Skiing is also nearby, just 25 minutes from the family-favorite slopes of Ski Granby Ranch. Moose and deer are frequent visitors in our neighborhood, and of course viewing herds of all kinds of wildlife – elk, big horn sheep, moose and deer is readily available at Rocky Mountain National Park.

Our home is in the quiet and appealing Columbine Lake (CLCC) neighborhood. CLCC is a private, covenant-controlled community. CLCC does not permit renters to use Columbine Lake, its clubhouse, gazebo, horse pasture, or OHVs. Parking is not allowed on Columbine Lake Road or any community property (though there is ample parking at our home). Plan on using one of the three local lakes (Grand, Granby and Shadow Mountain) for all your lake activities.

Sorry, no pets allowed due to extreme animal allergies in our family. Deposit will be retained if evidence of animals is found.

The cabin was lovely, clean, well stocked with kitchen gear, and very close to the clubhouse where our daughter was married. The owners were flexible with our check-in time since we had a rehearsal dinner the day we arrived, which was extremely appreciated. Everyone was comfortable, including my parents who are in their late eighties. They complimented me on finding such a nice place for us to stay. We made some new family memories playing games at the very large (and pretty) table in the kitchen. Very highly recommended!!! :-)

Great for a family getaway

Cabin was cute and well stocked. Cleanliness could be better. One bed had a blood stain on the blanket, and there was mouse droppings under the kitchen sink when we were taking out the trash. Overall things were fine though.

Family vacation

The cabin was great, listed as the pictures we sure had a great time we did lots of cooking during our stay, the neighborhood is very calm and the people are very nice. Overall a great place to stay I definitely loved the balcony backyard view surrounded with mountains.

Family Time, Sledding, Skiing, Views

Beautiful home allowed for comfortable and ambitious cooking, plenty of comfortable spaces, beautiful views, comfy beds and pillows and plenty of room to spread out! We loved that the TV was in a separate space from the main social space so we could focus on social interactions and family time! And when we chose to go watch a movie, we had a wonderful separate space for it. We went for walks every day and enjoyed the beautiful views in every direction. Sitting in the living room and doing puzzles was even a joy since it was so spacious and the views were spectactular from every window. The hosts went out of their way to make sure every detail was taken care of and thought of. We had everything we wanted to serve a nice Thanksgiving meal with extended family. Lots of kitchen supplies and spices made for cooking to be an ease--very much appreciated for those of us who like a complete kitchen! Skiing was not too far away and sledding in nearby local hills was a blast. We loved it and can't wait to come back and enjoy a different season. We had elementary, middle school and high school aged kids plus grandparents. We all enjoyed a lovely time. I highly recommend this space for families. Great for different families or friends to share as well due to the different spaces in the home to spread out. Abundant space inside and out! Loved it! We will be back!

Great for a family

We stayed in this cabin with our three kids (6, 3 and 5 months) and a couple and their two kids (6 and 3). It was perfect for 4 adults and 5 small kids. Lots of beds and baths. Kitchen was well stocked. Had baby supplies (high chairs, pack n play) and toys. Great location in a private community near grand lake and the entrance of RMNP.

Perfect for our family trip!

Our family LOVED staying at this house. The property was clean, had everything we needed, and was such a great location for a little family getaway to Grand Lake. We had a lovely walk around Columbine Lake one evening since it was right there, and overall it was absolutely perfect for our 5 adults and 4 kids.

Loved this large cabin

This beautifully furnished cabin made our week near Columbine Lake so comfortable and easy. We saw a mother deer with twins and a mother moose with her tiny baby walk past both the front and back decks on more than one occasion. The fully fitted out kitchen made cooking for each other a joy. Hoping to come back soon.

Ski Trip

We were to arrive Thursday in Grand Lake, however Mother Nature had a mind of her own and decided to drop 20” of snow throughout Denver and surrounding areas. This caused I-70 and the Berthoud pass to close thus stranding us in Denver for another night. Marcie and Brad were so understanding and very accommodating considering the unexpected weather. We definitely appreciate their flexibility with our reservation. Their home fit our family of 10 perfectly and had ample seating for all. It’s beautiful and well maintained. We definitely recommend staying here!

Beautiful, clean, cozy, awesome.

This cabin is a beautiful place where you can retreat and adventure in a beautiful location. Rocky Mountain National Park and Grand Lake are just a short 5 minute drive away. You can also walk around Columbine Lake straight from the front door. I love the cozy living room and bedrooms with beautiful views of the mountains. It's also a great place to view wildlife like moose and eagles. Highly recommend!

We LOVED It!!

We had a memorable Christmas with the entire family, the cabin was also “Christmas Ready” with a tree and stockings!! Everyone had fun, the area is beautiful and there are several activities around the area for all ages. We all definitely fell in love with the place and look forward to going back!

Great for Families

We very much enjoyed our stay near Rocky Mountain National Park. The cabin was very well equipped for a young family. They even had a pack-n-play that we could use for our youngest. The children loved all of the puzzles and toys as well. We found the kitchen to be well appointed and ready for us to cook elaborate meals. The owners answered all of our questions and we found the check in process to be seamless. We would not hesitate to stay here again and would recommend it for other family groups!

A Relaxing Stay For our Family

This was our second visit to this cabin near Grand Lake; previously we were here during the summer months. We truly enjoyed seeing the snowy peaks and all of the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. Our stay was incredibly peaceful and relaxing. The cabin is well-equipped and was comfortable for our large group of family and friends. There were multiple living spaces that allowed us to play games, cook together, and just hang out and relax. Everything we needed was already at the property and the owners were communicative and knowledgeable. We always enjoy getting away from the city and this was a great place for us to reconnect as a family!

The Cornish Family resides in Denver, Colorado and loves playing in the Rocky Mountains. Because our kids are grown, we can't all be together all the time, so we've decided to rent our our home. This is the first mountain home we have owned as a family, but have enjoyed renting in the past. We have some of our best family memories in mountain cabins.

You will love being able to host family and friends for a nice dinner at the dinning table that seats 10+. You will also love the rustic feel of the full log construction. There is internet and cable TV available on the property. The loft boasts a second living area perfect for watching movies!
