Coco Cottage at Poipu Beach is a classic, sugar plantation-style home located on the sunny south shore of Kauai. Completely rebuilt, it offers beautiful furnishings, a fully equipped kitchen, full-size washer and dryer, two air-conditioned bedrooms, each with a king-size bed, two bathrooms, and a huge, breezy lanai - offering island living at its best. Located in the heart of Poipu, Coco Cottage is just a 30-second walk to the ocean at the end of the street where you will find Brennecke's Beach and Poipu Beach Park for some of the best swimming, sunning, snorkeling and surfing on Kauai. Restaurants, delis, coffee shops, surf & beach rental shops, and a tennis club are all within an easy stroll of the cottage. Kauai is a dream destination, with the famous Na Pali Coast on one end of the island and stunning Waimea Canyon on the the other. Coco Cottage is the perfect place to take advantage of all the adventures Kauai has to offer, or to relax and do nothing at all.

Cute, spacious and impeccably clean cottage walkable to beach coves and restaurants. Perfect for 4 friends! We loved the large back porch and grill for outdoor hangs and enjoyed watching the birds every morning. Beautiful greenery surrounding the property so it felt very private. Really lovely, modern and well decorated spaces. Beach gear and coolers were such a nice bonus!

This is our second stay at the Shaw's property, and certainly won't be our last. I love the proximity to Poipu Beach and the many restaurants and shops in the area. My favorite part is that it's located off a quiet street, with low noise levels. The property itself is beautiful, with a comfortable lanai for sitting outside, even when it rains. The inside is beautifully appointed, with literally anything you might need to make it your home away from home. The Shaws are responsive to questions or requests. I would recommend this lovely property to anyone.

A perfect stay in Poipu for our family of four. The cottage is spacious and all the beds are super comfortable. The yard is wonderful with the best lanai to enjoy after a long day at the beach. The kitchen has everything you could ever need we even baked cookies on a rainy afternoon! Location is unmatched and the owners are not only organized and attentive but so kind. We have stayed in VRBO’s all over the world and this is one of our best stays. Highly recommend and we will definitely return.

Lovely cottage, great location, half a block to the ocean front where we saw fabulous sunsets. The back porch was a beautiful spot to sit together and enjoy meals and the yard is spectacular! Lots of birds to listen to.

Our first return to a previously booked accommodation: Coco Cottage you remained in our hearts after a visit in June of 2021. So lucky to go back to your wonderful property in May of 2026. The location is amazing. Easy walk to watch the sunset, visit the local beaches and a 5 minute drive to our favorite spot in Poipu: Shipwreck Beach. The house is super clean and has just what is needed for an excellent trip: beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, towels and sunscreen. Kitchen was well stocked for our home-cooked meals. The backyard is a paradise with the swaying trees, orchids and many birds. The hosts are fantastic at quick communication - and went above and beyond, offering to ship a left item. The cottage is beautiful! Perfect for our stay. We spent a lot of time on the lanai, so peaceful and relaxing. It was fun watching the hen and baby chicks, and the rooster was beautiful. The neighbors (Tina and Lon) we so nice, even bringing us bananas and lots of tips on what to see. The kitchen had everything needed and more. Thank you for the welcome basket, it was so appreciated. Joan and Richard are excellent hosts, very helpful!

THIS IS THE HOUSE!!! Just book it! You’ll love staying in this sweet cottage if you’re visiting Kauai! So MUCH charm! Completely well stocked! Comfy beds! Beautiful backyard and lanai! Walking distance to the beach! Each bedroom had its own attached bathroom! We travelled with another couple and both of us own short term rentals in other towns and so we are a little picky when it comes to renting on VRBO, but we were delighted to enjoy this home! Owners could not have been nicer and great communicators!!! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home!

The Coco Cottage was impeccable. From the moment you walk in you are in awe by the quaint and stunning styling of the home. From the welcoming gifts, to the amazing amenities it has easily become our favorite place to stay in the Poipu area! The proximity to Brenneke's Beach is also one of the best.

This house was magical. The location is perfect within walking distance of Poipu Beach. The whole house was well-stocked including coffee cookies, and eggs when we got there! We got in late at night and check-in was a breeze and it was so nice to have coffee and eggs in the morning. The property itself has a large private backyard that you share with the neighbors that feed the birds. There are beautiful orchids everywhere. We still felt privacy was maintained even with the shared yard. We are already dreaming of coming back! Thank you so much for hosting us!

This place was great. Great location, beautiful house that has everything you could want. The owners were very accommodating to our requests and cannot say enough great things about this place. If you are unsure about it for any reason, don’t be. We only stayed for one night unfortunately, after staying on the north shore for a week. E wanted to stay down south before having to head home, but will definitely come back again if we are lucky enough to visit this awesome island. Short walk to the beach, which you can hear the waves crashing from the house. We hung at the small beach which is a 2 minute walk and laid in the sand with a monk seal resting up in the sand. Took the boogie boards which were at the house and had ourselves an awesome time riding the massive waves with some of the locals. Again, if you are undecided… book this place. Joan and Rick go above and beyond here and I don’t know how you could be disappointed. Thanks again for everything!! Maholo, Mike

Amazing! Above and beyond. Short walk to beach. We saw turtles, seals, and whales. The back porch and yard are spectacular! Easy to communicate with hosts. Lists of activities and restaurants left in book. Very upscale amenities in cottage.

We've lived on Kauai for over 40 years, and our grandchildren represent the 5th generation raised on the island. Rick's grandparents came to Kauai in the early 1920's; his grandfather was a civil engineer in the sugar plantation industry. We've traveled the world, but can't imagine living anywhere else. Until recently, Rick was a part-owner of Coldwell Banker Makai Properties, a local real estate company, which he sold to Coldwell Banker Island Properties from Maui. Rick is now a broker with CBIP and Joan recently retired after a long career in education.

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

Some of Rick's fondest memories include learning to swim, body surf, and surf at Brennecke Beach and Poipu Beach. We have classic photos of his mother swimming there in the early 1930's. Our own daughters spent their childhoods on these shores. We were thrilled to find this little house for sale in 2016, as we could see the potential for a perfect vacation home. We spent most of 2017 renovating it, and adding all the special touches we would want in our own home.

The minute you kick off your shoes and enter Coco Cottage, you will feel yourself unwind and relax. With the French Doors open to the trade winds, ceiling fans gently turning, birds chirping outside, and the beach just steps away - you'll be in instant vacation mode. The kitchen offers everything you'll need to make a casual snack or turn out a gourmet meal. The king-size beds are of high quality and comfy, and plantation shutters ensure a good night's sleep. Both bedrooms have air conditioning units, giving you the option of a cool retreat on warm nights. The bathrooms are spacious and inviting, and the closets provide plenty of room for your belongings (bathing suit and shorts!). You can enjoy breakfast on the lanai, a run along the coastline, or a sunset picnic at the beach pavilion. We invite you to come, stay, and build special memories of your stay on Kauai.
