The Cottage at El Adobe
This Cottage is part of the original Adobe Apartments complex which is on the City of Scottsdale Historic Register. This is one of 6 building on the property made of adobe mud bricks 11 inches thick. This Cottage is a one bedroom, one bathroom free standing unit and is located in the back of the ā€œUā€ shape of building and faces the courtyard garden, pergola, 1st Avenue and Indian School Road.
This Cottage is located in the middle of Old Town Scottsdale Art District and is only 7 blocks from Fashion Square and The Waterfront District. Only a Ā½ of a block to Main Street and the Thursday night Art Walk. One block to the Western Museum and the free city operated trolley shuttle. Scottsdale Center for the Preforming Arts is 6 blocks away. This Cottage has a single on premise parking place, however a car is not necessary to enjoy the destinations in Old Town all within walking distance. Easy to get to the Cottage by a shuttle from Sky Harbor Airport about 10 miles away

The Cottage has been totally remodeled and is fully furnished. Heating and air condition, the bedroom has two twin beds. Living/dining area equipped with 46ā€ flat screen TV, and Wi-Fi connection. Twin sofa bed in living room and plenty of storage. Fully equipped kitchen, including refrigerator, dishwasher, glass flat-top stove/oven, microwave, coffee-pot, toaster, cooking utensils, dishes, cups, glasses, silverware, and utensils. This Cottage is totally barrier free ( no steps, or anything to step over, everything is on one level) including the bathroom which has a walk-in shower and stacking washer/dryer with iron and ironing board and hair dryer.

This Cottage shares a beautiful view of the center courtyard desert landscaping garden and pergola with the 3 commercial tenants on the premise.

An ideal day would start with walking across the street for breakfast or brunch at Arcadia Farm or Panera Bread, or Starbucks, then a stroll down Main Street to admire the multitude of galleries including the Western artists, fine jewelry, painting and sculpting. For lunch the famous Thai restaurant Maleeā€™s On Main, Grimaldyā€™s Pizzeria, or Frank and Lupe Mexican restaurant, and other eateries just around the corner.

House Rules:

Please behave like you are in your own home and have respect and courtesy for the other tenants and their clients especially late at night. Very safe and charming area, it is every guestā€™s responsibility to maintain the character and charm of these Historic buildings
Sorry, but NO PETS and NO SMOKING (of anything) at any time in the Cottage.

Cozy Cottage, Centrally Located, With Lovely Gardens

We enjoyed our week at the cottage. It is very centrally located with lot's of shopping and restaurants a few steps away. The cottage has everything you need, is very quiet and secure. The outside space is wonderful for visiting and eating.

Staying at the cottage was a fabulous experience. It is well equipped; beds very comfortable, excellent linens, all the home spotlessly kept. Location is perfect for both Old Town and Shops off 5th Ave walkability. Jimmy and his wife are hosts that set the perfect standard!

The location is excellent! The cottage is located close to everything yet it is an oasis of quiet and privacy. It is probably the cleanest and most fully setup rental I have every stayed in; it has everything you could possibly need while you are staying there.

Wonderful Hosts & Location!

Jimmy, his wife, & his son are wonderful hosts! I was greeted in the cottage with a gift & a bowl of fruit & treats. The cottage was well supplied with the essentials. The location is superb with nearby restaurants, the Museum of the West, & the every Thursday night Artwalks on Main Street.

This was a perfect place to stay. The cottage has everything you need for a short or extended stay.. Great location. Convenient to everything. My daughter and I stayed 5 nights and Jimmie was a perfect host. This place has character with a wonderful courtyard and is very secure. The private parking space was an added bonus. Hotels just cannot compare to the cottage.

Delightful cottage

This rental exceeded all expectations. The cottage was immaculate, had everything one could need, and was very comfortable. The patio in the courtyard was gorgeous, and the location was perfect for walking around old town Scottsdale. The host was available for questions, and parking was right outside the cottage. Our stay was delightful.

Downtown Hideaway

The Adobe Cottage was perfect for my stay, I just wish I could have stayed a little longer. The location was perfect; one block off Main St. which made it an easy walk to anyplace in Old Town Scottsdale. The apartment was very clean and had everything I needed and more. Jimmy was a great host and as a woman traveling alone I felt very safe. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The owner is very accommodating and made our stay special. We were right downtown Scottsdale and felt very safe. The ability to walk to everything in Scottsdale was fun. The living space was very clean and had all of the necessities and more. Upon arrival we enjoyed some fresh fruit left as a welcome by the owner. All in all a great trip.

Our favorite winter vacation stay

We spend a couple of weeks every winter in Scottsdale to get warm, play golf, and enjoy the arts district. We found Jimmy and Adobecottage a couple of years ago and love the place. I can't say too much: quiet, his very pleasant garden to spend sunny afternoons for reading, visits with Jimmy, and more. We will likely return for many years to come.

Location is perfect. You can leave the car and walk all over. The cottage is completely outfitted with many amenities you wonā€™t get in a hotel. We reserved in June to be sure we would have it in February. If you want to stay in Scottsdale, this is the place to stay.

Wonderful cottage in an awesome location!

The location is amazing, close to all kinds of shops and restaurants. The host Jimmy is a really nice man; it was a pleasure to meet him and have an occasional chat with, and he was very helpful in recommending some restaurants. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean and had everything you could possibly need, and the outdoor gardens are spectacular. The only thing that kept this from a 5 star for me was the slight lack of comfortable seating outside in the garden. Some cushions or something for the benches would help.

This little place was paradise

I can't say enough about Jimi's place. Location was perfect. Right in Old Town. Quiet, peaceful, clean and had everything we needed. We were there during a very busy weekend (St. Patrick's Day weekend) so parking was tough but we had a private parking spot. Great recommendation from Jimi for breakfast (Arcadia Farms) right down the street. Can't wait to come back. Thanks Damian Leal

The 6 building are made of Adobe mud 11 inches thick that were build in 1948 . They heat and cool easily. Total restoration on all 6 buildings over the last 22 years and now they are in excellent shape.
