The house is a Santa Fe Style home with 12 foot latillas & vigas ceilings, kiva fireplaces, and saltillo tile and brick floors throughout. There is a covered Portal for relaxing, outdoor fire pit, and huge windows for taking in the big mountain views. The home has an open plan with contemporary furnishings and outstanding art and sculptures purchased from local artists and galleries. The home is built into the hill which makes it extra quiet and helps to keep it cool in the summer and warm in the winter months. There is a wood burning Kiva fireplace in the living room, and adobe walls in the dining room. There are juniper and piñon trees and lots of birds. Very appropo is the fact that on our street (Pajaro Azul) are an abundance of bluebirds and blue jays! In fact, at times the trees turn "blue" from all the birds!

Guests have full access to all the areas of the main house including the courtyard, and the land surrounding the property. The office, garage, and another bedroom suite or locked for privacy. There is a separate casita on the property as well but, it is accessed by its own private road.

Interaction with guests
Times have certainly changed! I now provide a lockbox with keys for guests to have entry to the property. I respect your privacy but, am available anytime by text if you should have questions, or need information.

Other things to note
We are in the mountains, and there is a lot of wildlife. You can see jackrabbits, roadrunners, quail, many different species of birds, and an occasional bobcat or even a bear. Placitas is known for their wild horses and we often see them roaming on our property. There are several herds of wild mustangs, and a herd of 11 frequents my property regularly. Don't be surprised if you are awakened by them grazing outside your bedroom window!
