Nestled on several peaceful hillside acres bordering the Coconino National Forest, SaddleRock Ranch offers breathtaking views of Sedona’s famous red rock formations. This private estate provides the perfect blend of seclusion and convenience, located just minutes from Sedona’s shops, galleries, and restaurants.

The home features comfortable guest rooms, each with a private bathroom with a shower, tub, or tub/shower combination. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, even poolside.

Relax in the heated outdoor pool (small fee November–March) or unwind under the stars in the year-round hot tub. Guests can step directly out the back door to access scenic hiking trails with panoramic skyline views and a short walk to one of Sedona’s well-known vortex sites.

Whether you're seeking adventure or tranquility, SaddleRock Ranch is an ideal base for hiking, biking, exploring Sedona, or simply enjoying the spectacular desert scenery.

Please note: A separate, fully self-contained studio cottage is located behind the main house and may occasionally be rented during your stay. Cottage guests do not have access to the main house, pool, or hot tub. The cottage can also be reserved with the main house for up to two additional guests if available.

Day trips to Flagstaff, Phoenix, and even the Grand Canyon make this an unforgettable Northern Arizona getaway.

A unique property in an incredible location. Hike to Airport Mesa directly from the house, or just sit on the deck and admire the sweeping views. As noted in other reviews, there are two other buildings on the property that rent separately. We hardly noticed them. This house has lots of character. It’s showing age around the edges, but everything was clean and functional. Our group of five loved staying there. Arna was a great host: communicative and responsive. Would happily stay again.

Fantastic Location

I loved this location. The views were astonishing, it was private and secluded, but still close enough that my wife and I were able to walk to the Airport Loop Trail.

First Sedona stay

The views are amazing! Location is perfect! Pool and Hot tub were clean. House was clean, plenty of space. Host was very responsive and polite. The ONLY negative we experienced were ants in the kitchen. They had an exterminator come out asap but unfortunately it did not totally resolve the problem. Would definitely recommend staying here and we would absolutely come back again!

Amazing views ideal location

You will not be disappointed! The views can not be beat, you can take a short walk on the property trail over to airport loop where you are at the destination of even more views! Kitchen has everything you can need appliance wise. The cozy, historic and art feel perfectly fit Sedona. You are walking distance from everything you need for your stay! Will definitely return!

Amazing property and location

Recently hosted our spiritual retreat here and we. Oils t have been more pleased with this house. The views, rooms and character of the house created a unique experience for everyone. The artwork was inspiring and every room had its own flavor and bathroom. Communication with the owner was also incredible. She was attentive and sweet. We will definitely book again in the future. Thank you Arna! ❤️

The views were absolutely spectacular and we could hike to the vortex from the house!

The house was plenty big for our party of six. We loved sitting in the living room looking out the windows at the amazing views. The house was well stocked. The house needs a little more maintenance, especially in the bathrooms. When a storm happened, there were several leaks. One of the doors didn’t lock as well. Very happy overall. We had a fabulous time celebrating our 50th birthdays.

Spectacular Views!!!!

Absolutely beautiful property, and the views are breathtaing. House is a bit dated, but was so great that everyone had their own bedroom with a bathroom for our group of 7 people. The dining room table sat everyone and was where we spent a lot of time playing games and hanging out once the sun went down. The bed mattresses should all be replaced, they are very worn our and have noticable indents. Also, the pool could use a heater, the water temp was 55 degrees, so we were not able to enjoy it at all. I would absolutely stay here again and would highly recommend to anyone traveling to Sedona.

Not horrible

We did not realize how old the house was. Built in 1940 it’s very old. Pool was dirty with animal droppings around the edge. Lots of leaves and debris that we vacuumed out ( not big deal). Arna was very responsive on getting things fixed and we saw her maintenance guy almost everyday. Very friendly guy! Overall good stay just go into it knowing this is an old outdated house.

Love Aunts- not ants

We’d been planning a family get together since the beginning of the year, traveling from Alaska, Colorado, California & Washington. The one line picture looked perfect!! The view was amazing!! The inside of the house was ok, but the ants were everywhere.. the owner must have known of because there were bait everywhere. My main disappointment was that the pool wasn’t heated. I probably wouldn’t have chosen this place had I know we were not going to be able to use the pool.. But the location was perfect, sunset/rise were amazing.

Needs a good overall

We enjoyed the “rustic” appeal. However, the living room furniture is old & dirty. We did not want to sit on it. Our bedroom sheets had crumbs in them, had to get a new pair and put on, did not want to see the bed topper…another bedroom sheets had dark hair all over them. Dining room was great with the panoramic views. Kitchen was fine. It was well stacked. The pool was not heated as stated it should be until 10/31. The surrounding pool area ( sandstone?) was cracked and pieces everywhere. The place needs a good cleaning job and maintenance repair. There was also a musty smell as soon as you walked in. The views were spectacular!!!

Worst Stay Ever!!! Don't be fooled!

Yes this property is Historic and has amazing views. That is the end of the nice things i can say. I pity the people who stay after us, under the new listing, the bathroom toilet upstairs broke and flooded the bathroom below it with gross brown mold looking water. It is very obvious this has happened before as that bathroom has a very soft floor. The water ruined hundreds of dollars of my cousin's things, and the owner ciuld have cared less. The smell was so bad the room was unusable. We had to leave a night early. This was just the final straw for us. Other issues included, Ants everywhere inside, some mind of bugs on the couch,

SaddleRock Ranch June 2018

The view is amazing. It is a 40 year old property and a landmark. We enjoyed having the pool and hot tub right there and the privacy was nice. The linens and dishes were clean and plentiful; however this house needs some serious TLC. We don't mind dealing with some issues, or even old homes, but it really had a lot. The garbage disposal was broken when we arrived (horrible stench) One of the air conditioners was broke for 3 of our 4 day stay (we had the house - 3 bedrooms 6 people). The owners respond quickly, but we had to trouble shoot. The appliances in the kitchen are updated but the counter and cabinets were tough. The deck has several weak boards and the pool has weeds growing out of the tiles and several missing plaster spots. The water in both the pool and the hot tub were clean. Only one of the two motors in the hot tub was working. We found cobwebs in many many places. The wooden deck chairs were falling apart. Like I said, it needed TLC.

June 2022 review

Prior to booking, we read the reviews of AC not working properly but did not want to write off the house. Instead we emailed to see if the issue was resolved, which the owner said yes. Upon arrival, the house was close to 100 degrees and the majority of our trip was spent stressing and communicating the problem to get resolved.Not only was the temperature a concern, but the amount of bugs in the home was awful. From ants to Beatles to big spiders, you could find them literally everywhere you went. The most common places were bedrooms, kitchen counters and cabinet, and all on the floor. Even after properly securing our food, we still found bugs inside. The house had such potential, but needed a ton of TLC and was not worth the money. The pool was filthy, the pool cushions were dirty and ripped. The floor boards near the pool were rotting and dangerous. Upon arrival, the bedding was not clean. All of the outside plants/landscape was dead and lacked care. One bathtub had a cigarette bud, a clomp of hair and dirt. You could find cobwebs and dirt everywhere.

We worked with Shawna to address the AC issues immediately and the issues were resolved. Ants are a problem in the summer months in Sedona and we have ant bait that comes highly recommended by pest control and the local hardware store. The pool deck has been repaired .... we have a pool and hot tub service that visits the property once a week for cleaning, maintenance and any repairs of the pool and hot tub. Our house cleaning team is very thorough .... and we are only hearing about the cleanliness of the house from this review. If there are any issues on the cleanliness of the rooms, we would appreciate guests letting us know right away so we could make it right.

Perfect Sedona Experience

We stayed here for 3 days celebrating my sister’s bachelorette party. The house was great for a group with plenty of space for family dinners at the table, lots of couches to hang out, and great views from everywhere in the house. The pool was so perfect to cool off after a hike and hang out during the day. Location was close to everything we wanted to do! Would love to come back for this property!

LOVED the location and the space!!

We were so excited to be in Sedona. 4 Seniors enjoying a special Road Trip with 9 days in Sedona. We had a few hitches with the heating system and TV's that were not working, however we made it work. Some deferred maintenance, for sure. We love cooking special meals and we felt that the kitchen was a little lacking in good utensils. But overall, we would definitely want to stay at Saddleback Ranch again.

The location to downtown was very convenient. The views from the home were magnificent. The home itself requires some TLC. Very rustic and needs a facelift to match the majestic views of the red rock mountains.

What a view!

We booked because of the view and were not disappointed. Spectacular! Huge place, but a bit choppy. Out-dated kitchen, but a huge table for 10 of us to sit around.

Do NOT rent this

We had to leave this house due to safety concerns. This house was 86-100 degrees inside depending on the room you were in. We arrived (me and 7 of my family members) and immediately noticed that 3 of the bedrooms were between 86-100 degrees. I have pictures of the thermostats. The a/c was only working properly in the family room and 1 bedroom. The rest of the house stayed extremely hot. After contacting the property manager we were given access to an additional room however it was 95 degrees despite a running a/c unit and there were cockroaches in the room. The pool was visibly dirty and had a beer can at the bottom. There were alcohol bottles around the pool area outside. It was obvious it had not been cleaned. The spa is green and has murky water. It is unsafe to go into. The a/c thermostat is a nest and it was set at 65 degrees but perhaps just too old of an airconditioning unit. We also noticed a rat trap and rat feces in one of the master bedroom windows. At this point the owner and property manager was no longer assisting us or responding. I notified the owner that we were leaving the home that night and it is equiped with video surveillance. I spent over $1900 on this home rental. After 5 hours of trying we had to leave and pay for hotel rooms. After saving for a year to go on the vacation I dreamed of, I am now faced with not getting a refund for the home rental. At this point the owner and vrbo are not issuing a refund. Please do NOT rent this house. I am contacting the city of Sedona and the better business bureau.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Saddlerock Ranch house! The hiking trail access was perfect for our vow renewal and the pool was DYNAMITE!

Beware

To much to type. To anyone renting location beware pic is not what it seems. There are ants a door someone kicked in broken barbeques roaches on swimming deck. Wood is rotted my pool gate to house is not secure as listing says. All the green showed in pic is now dead and just weeds. Not wprth the price my list can go on i just do not have that kind of time

Great place, just a little outdated

Place was amazing. we had a great time staying there. It is a little outdated for some things there, but it is an older home so that is understandable. The pool was a little chilly so couldnt really swim at night, but refreshing when it is really hot outside. Hot tub should be upgraded for price paid to stay there. You will come across some critters while you are here so hopefully you are okay with that. Overall, though it was a great time and would recommend for people that arent looking for anything too extravagant, but likes to be secluded.
