Great home for the working traveler. Short term or long term is welcome.

We are just a short walk to the sand and surf. Check out our weekly and monthly rates so you can set on front porch swing with two more chairs where you can hear the roar of ocean waves breaking on the shore. In the back yard concrete table picnic area under with a charcoal grill. Walk to the park, walk to tennis court, soccer field, where the kids can enjoy a splash pad and walk to the beach all within 3 block from the house. Washer/dryer, appliances, WiFi, cable, three bedrooms have queen beds, and den area has a couch for a afternoon nap.

We have a 4.9 guest rating and our average response time to our guest is less than one hour.

Please note our cancellation policy which is set at firm.

We encourage you to purchase the trip cancellation protection from CSA insurance which is an option during your reservation purchase time.

The experience was great, the owners were great and easy to get in touch with. The property was even better than described, we felt at home and were so relaxed. The beach is so close and convenient as well as all of the wonderful shops and restaurants.

This is our second time staying at Donkeys Inn and it was just as great the second time! Everything was there that we needed for a home away from home. Also so close to beach, we were able to walk.

We had a great time. The owners were amazing and very helpful. The house was beautiful and had everything we needed. The little ones especially loved the short wagon ride to the beach. We will be back!

Another great stay!

Overall the house was good for us, Just a few things I think you too correct 1 in the details of the house, it is listed a crib was in one of the rooms NO crib( we did not need but maybe renters with a baby may need)2 listed a sofa bed again future renters may need one and not one there 3 maybe it was us but could not operate the outdoor shower no water. Other than that we liked the house. Thanks Kevin& Cindy

Another great stay at Donkey's Inn

Plenty in the kitchen to cook at home if not interested in going out, but close to plenty of options for dining out if that's what you're interested in. We love the location of this home and enjoyed playing connect four this visit. Easy communication with host and always quick to reply.

Great stay!

Great & Welcoming stay. Very clean! Family friendly as it is super close to the beach and park/splash pad. Hosts were super sweet and answered all my questions in a very fast manner. Will definitely be returning!! (:

Great place and nice owners

This property is well stocked and beautifully redone inside even though it is an older house. It is charming. We have stayed here 3x. If you plan on walking to the beach, it is doable but you do have to cross a busy highway and dragging a lot of stuff with kids would be tough. We drove to the beach but as a downer they are now charging parking. This is not the cottages fault of course. I would rent from them anytime. Reasonable rates too for shorter times than a week also. They are very responsive to any little problem too. It does need a bit of paint on the outside but that does not affect an enjoyable stay.

So cute inside!

This property has been nicely redone in recent years. We enjoyed the place v3ry much and the kindness and promptness of the owners when we needed to ask something. It was priced reasonably too! It does need some yard work-mowing and bushes trimmed but it is the inside that counts. It would looks cute if the stucco was painted a bright color too to make it even better.

Great place to enjoy the beach in the fall

Walking distance from the beach, a park and grocery stores. Nice and clean property. Owners are very proactive / responsive to make sure everything goes smoothly.

Fishing trip

It was a nice place to stay, clean with room for everyone. Everyone enjoyed it staying there. The only down fall was that it didn't have TV in every room. I also enjoyed the screened in proch and the swing.

Great stay for a great price

We loved the Donkey's Inn for our 4 day stay. The house is in a great location with everything you need for a small family or a friends getaway. Everything is very clean and you have all that you need to enioy the beach. Highly recommended!

Short but Sweet

The property was just as described. Beds comfortable, enough space for family, close to the beach. You do need to bring your own linens and towels, not a big deal. Large bathroom shower could have more water pressure, but we managed. Overall very enjoyable stay. We may do it again next year.

Home away from home!

Enjoyed our stay at Donkeys inn! Great location on the island, a block away from the splash pad and the public access cabana. House was clean and well equipped for a longer stay. Great Girls Getaway

We were looking for a responsibly priced location with easy access to the beach. We indeed got that at the DonKey Inn. The first thing we noticed upon entering the property was how clean it smelled. It had all the necessary things we needed for our girl's getaway. We enjoyed having the full size fridge and icemaker as we took a cooler to the beach everyday and having that was so helpful. The house is in a great location with easy public beach access. We loved sitting on the front porch in the morning drinking our coffee and planning our day. Then after a long day at the beach the two showers came in handy to allow us both to clean up from the day. All the bedrooms were nice but we only used two of the three but they all seemed about the same as it relates to comfort. Also all the necessary cleaning supplies were at the house so we didn't need to get things like dish soap, dishwasher detergent or trash bags. The owners were great and answered the couple of question we had very quickly. We will be back...might make this a yearly trip.

Easter Weekend Getaway

Booked Donkeys Inn after realizing that my kids and I all had several days off. The owners were extremely responsive sending emails prior to us even leaving home to let us know everything. The house was exactly as it was pictured. It was clean and had everything we needed. The locations was ideal. We walked to the beach a few times each day. One day there was even a craft fair and live music at the park across the street. My daughter's who can be very critical (teens) love the place and said they would love to come back! It was a perfect get away and we were sad to have to come home. Thanks!

Perfectly Placed

What a wonderful experience. Convenient to everything! Almost everything you need or want to see is literally within walking distance. Owners are available for any questions or concerns (not that you would have any) I look forward to returning with more friends and family in the future!! :)

Donkeys Inn Vacation time.

Very clean , comfortable room sizes , beds were comfortable too , a/c , t.v. all running great . Minutes from beach an A+ , unfortunately the washer was out of service, everything else as good as expected.

You can keep your vacation local and enjoy OKI or you can travel a short distance to historic Wilmington NC, Calabash NC, Myrtle Beach SC, Barefoot Landing, Broadway, Carolina Opry with shopping and theater performances.

Purchase of this property gave our family opportunity to bond and share relaxing times together. It is a place our children call home and our friends call their get-away. There are opportunities to walk on the shore line at sun rise and sunset (perfect for photography), play in surf, walk and fish on piers, rent bikes for scenic rides, inland waterway views with marsh lands, surf fish, hike nature trails and all enjoyed by our children and friends.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Location, location and Location
We are on a quiet street just 3 blocks from the shore. At night and early in the morning you can hear the sounds of the sea's roar while you sit on the porch. If you drive to the Cabana by the ocean you have lots of parking. It is about a 7 minute walk to the beach. We are a half block from a playground. We are 7 blocks from Food Lion and even closer to BBQ and fish to eat.
