Large private condominium apartment at the resort condominium complex on the beach in sunny Kihei, Maui, Hawaii. Master bedroom has a king bed with private attached bathroom. Second bedroom has (2) twin beds, and 2nd bathroom with a shower across the hall.
Living area, dining area, kitchen with breakfast bar. PLUS, large private view deck looking out towards ocean. Beach chairs, pool/beach towels, full size appliances including air conditioning and washer dryer.

Really, just hit the grocery store and you are set for the week!

General Info:
The Maui Sunset is located on over 5 acres of oceanfront at Kihei which is considered one of the best locations on the Valley Isle. Kihei is noted for its year-round sunshine, balmy trade winds, and soothing evening air. It is one of the driest and sunniest areas on the entire island, averaging only 10 inches a year! World famous swimming and snorkeling beaches are minutes away at one of the many sandy safe beaches at Kihei and nearby Wailea. Just a short distance (6 miles) from five championship 18-hole resort golf courses at Wailea and Makena. The two buildings frame and protect a large recreational area that is carefully attended and landscaped. The 60-foot swimming pool with its broad decks and abundance of pool furniture invites you to improve on your tan.

Beautiful property!

Loved the view and it was right on the beach. We enjoyed the poolside games and herb garden. Property was quiet and relaxing.

The condo is in a great location, very central to all activities the island has to offer. The unit is outdated and lacks some general necessities like a cutting board and no laundry soap. The sheets in the master bedroom were stained and the 2nd bedroom smelled like urine. The smell seemed to come from one of the twin beds in the room. This unit is bare bones at best and was just okay.

Stay at Maui sunset

Facilities here were good , pool was nice and clean , ocean view was beautiful. Condo itself we had some issues with , the master shower wouldn’t work we needed to have maintenance guy come and then we had to move to another condo for 2 days and then move back , we did request to stay at the other place but someone was booked into that one . We were compensated for this which was appreciated.

This is a wonderful property and a great location. The views from the balcony are great. We booked the condo for 6 people, four adults, and 2 kids. However, beds were not enough. The master bedroom was a queen bed and the other bedroom has two twin beds. The living room has a sofa but it is not convertible into bed. Kitchen has ants. So needs a bit of a cleaning. Overall I would give it 4 out 5 rating due to views and location. Swimming pool is great as well

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Unfortunately, the unit was in a terrible condition. The kitchen walls were dirty and food stained. Once we had the ants under control, washed the walls and floor daily, it was a little better. The liner curtains were torn, ripped and soiled. The carpet was stained and rippled so badly we were concerned that we might trip and fall. Dust covered every surface, especially the rattan furniture. Worn furniture can be expected in a rental. However dusty and soiled is not acceptable. As I said: once we got the ants under control the kitchen was better...This was our 7 th stay at the Maui Sunset. We sincerely hope the units will be in better shape the next time.

Kihei Oceanfront Condo April Stay

Our family stayed 10 wonderful days at the beginning of April. We enjoyed the pool/hot tub and tennis courts. There are several additional amenities available on the property including shuffle board and bocce. The grass area in front of the condos is great for exercise and play. The beach right in front is a little rocky but a short walk south provides nice sand. There is a nice reef break so you hear some waves and we saw some whales from our lanai. Sunsets were a must for us and our view from the condo didn't disappoint. The condo itself is a bit dated inside with painted old cabinets , carpet needing a stretch here and there but a newer refrigerator and dishwasher, plus what appeared to be newly tiled bath floors/showers were nice updates. The stacked washer/dryer came in handy and there are beach chairs and a cooler for use in the guest bed closet. Location is great as it is simple to Uber to any of the Kihei or Wailea area beaches for $6-8 each way if you don't want to rent a car. Walking distance to stores if you don't plan to carry too much back with you. There are BBQ grilles located in the middle courtyard but we found only 2 would stay lit the whole time due to wind blowing out the fire on the other 4. This was frustrating for several of the people we interfaced with during a busy dinner grilling experience on multiple nights. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would want to do it again.

Bbq grills were great, maintenance very responsive to our needs. Unit kitchen was very dated with older appliances, counters and cabinets. Showers only had curtains which billowed everywhere. Wish the pool opened before 8! Unit had 3 ac wall units able to cool quickly on the hot days when needed.We have stayed at Sunset many times and will do it again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: There was two adults and three kids in our group and there was plenty of room. Place was clean and we felt right at home. They provided boogie boards and snorkle gear (for one). The gym was small with no windows but the equipment was in good shape and fine for a quick workout. Tennis rackets/balls and shuffle board equipment is provided and kept the kids entertained. The BBQ area was nice and not crowded. Grocery store is close by ($6 Uber). The beach at Maui Sunset is rocky in the water but nice. It's just a short trip (10-30 minutes) to lots of other really nice beaches more south and about 30-40 minutes to Kanaapali or Paia. The host was very responsive. We had an issue with ants and they sent someone the next day.

Vacation

The property was excellent with nice amenities. The only suggestion would be to have some sandwich size Rubbermaid reusable storage containers in the kitchen to use for food. Will definitely stay at this property again.

Somewhat dated but great location and view at a great price.

Kitchen not remodeled with marble counters, etc like many other units, but meets all needs. Bathrooms are small but functional. Unit showing some age and wear, but a great location on top floor with great views from lanai. We would rent again at price it was offered for. If price were inflated (like many other Maui rentals that we have been to....trying to recoup losses from the panademic) .....this unit would have many more updated units to compete with.

Did not stay

We arrived after hours and received the key to the condo. The condo was below our cleanliness standards. Bugs in the bathroom and kitchen, sand on the couch and a diaper behind one of the cushions of the couch. The counter the kitchen was dirty, stains on the floor, due to the uncleanness we left and found another place to stay for our time in Maui. The view was very nice. The management was unconcerned.

Aloha, Its unfortunate that your daughter was unhappy with the accommodations that you booked for her. Upon inspection we did not find the items you describe. The condo is a bit dated in the kitchen but has new updates in the bathrooms and many other areas. With an older condo we stress cleanliness and we price the condo for the amazing view. VRBO is an amazing platform, and we count on the photos and description to convey its not perfect, but a wonderful value. We were very concerned and did follow up immediately.

Great View - Sad Beach - Outdated Condo

I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Vacation in Maui, top notch life goal, a success. Knowing what I know now I would have stayed somewhere else, probably up by Lahaina as most activities were up that way, the beaches were nicer and condos appeared to be more up to date. Our condo had amazingly beautiful views of the ocean, pool, shuffle board and tennis courts. However, one set of shuffle boards were totally stripped and was more of an eyesore and every night, every morning we went to bed and woke up with a homeless man sleeping on the tennis court. Inside the condo was very outdated, bamboo or tiki hut style furniture, stained couches, old appliances, and small beds. Luckily we didn’t speed a lot of time in the condo, primarily a place to sleep. The air conditioning units were on timers where you had to twist a knob on the wall that set a timer similar to what you use in the kitchen when timing food. Once the timer was done your air conditioning was turned off until you reset the timer. Stains leading into the condo in the hall way and stains on the floor in the condo. No TVs in the bedrooms so if you are going to bed you have nothing to fall asleep to. All in all I would never stay in this condo again. Definitely paid too much for what you got.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Well to begin , the office closes a little too early for people traveling from Eastern Mainland . The security guard was new and gave us misinformation . We arrived on Saturday evening about 7:00 pm and told us we only had one key for four adults and no way to get to pool , hot tub and water activities . You need a fob to enter and he said that would be Monday . I called the booking agency and they tried to help but were unable . We did call on Sunday and get through to someone ,It was about noon to 1:00 pm. We were upset because after a long plane ride it would of been great to soak in a hot tub. The manager would not compensate us however Travelocity did .
