This is a wonderful large property with lots of facilities, including activities to do in the large garden. The pool is good size and has a generous patio area around it. Marion the owner and James who lives locally will try and sort out any issues you have, plus give you lots of information about the locality.We enjoyed exploring an area that was new to us.

Peaceful, relaxing, lovely pool

We had a lovely two week holiday here. The house is very spacious, and the gardens are lovely. The pool area is perfect, and the pool itself a good size. We enjoyed trips out and lazy days at the property, and cycling to the bakery in Andrest each morning to get our breakfast croissants. It is calm, peaceful and easy to find - exactly what we were looking for. Thank you.

Family holiday house

A big house with big rooms, we were 4 generations and there was plenty of space for us all, pool is a must and this is great a good size, kitchen is small but has everything you need. Indoor table tennis made for great tournaments, huge garden but as with all french grass shoes are needed

Villa Rose July 2023

Large spacious property can easily accommodate a large family or families sharing. Lots of space inside and out to relax on your own. Pool area is clean and inviting with plenty of sun loungers, parasols and outdoor furniture Great location for visiting nearby attractions. If I’m being picky the property is let down a little by the relatively small kitchen. Although well equipped it’s a bit tight on space when cooking. However this should not dissuade anyone from renting what is otherwise an excellent house. The caretaker James was responsive and always on hand when we had any issues and offers great with advise on local attractions. House is in a calm commune with lots of quiet country lanes nearby for relaxing cycle rides, yet it’s only about 7 minutes by car to the nearest town. Would definitely recommend and would love to return again next year.

We absolutely agree about the kitchen - what we've always wanted to do is turn the corridor and small sitting room into the kitchen but until we win the lottery the small one will have to do! If you found any restaurants or "things to do/places to visit" which you would recommend I'd be interested in hearing about them. Spacious property

We had an excellent holiday staying at "The pink house" as we called it in Villenave-pres-Marsac. With 5 bedrooms and plenty of living room areas there was lots of space for our family party of 7. The pool was large and we loved eating out in the garden, just a few steps from the kitchen. The village is lovely and quiet, and yet you can drive to a small supermarket in 5 minutes, and a massive one in 15. The mountains are about 45-60 minutes drive away. The bedrooms and all the linen were lovely and clean, although the kitchen wasn't quite so spotless. We had a couple of very small issues while we were there but they were dealt with very quickly and efficiently by the English speaking contact for the property, who couldn't have been more helpful. All in all we enjoyed our stay very much. Only one point: although the pool was lovely, I wouldn't recommend it to families with very small children as there were quite a few uneven surfaces and the path leading to it had lots of trip hazards. There is, however, a huge garden and lots of games equipment which was perfect for the teenagers in our group.

Thank you for your review and I'm so pleased you had a good time at La Maison Rose and its environs! Did you go canoeing/kayaking? I will take your comments on board. The path to the pool and around the pool is on the "to do" list. The roots of a large tree, recently felled, by the gate to the pool has played havoc with that path over the years and the paving round the pool is to be replaced. And new sun loungers for next season! Sorry if the kitchen wasn't up to scratch. I feel very lucky to have such good help in James, Amy and Annette and also that the house seems to attract very pleasant and relaxed guests! With best wishes, Marion

Post exam relaxation

Our group of 8 included 4 teenagers looking for post exam relaxation and they certainly found it here. They enjoyed swimming, table tennis, badminton, football etc and hooking up their games consul in the evening to unwind. The booking process was simple and Marion the owner was excellent answering any queries we had prior to going and incredibly helpful and generous during our stay. The property is a short, easy drive from the airport. If you have not driven abroad before (like us) the airport is quiet and the drive relatively stress free. The location of the property is very quiet and so having transport is the best option. The locals are very friendly and were incredibly helpful when we needed medical assistance. We found the local town of Vic-en Bigorre perfect for essentials. If I had one slight moan it would be that the property is still being advertised as having WiFi but it doesn't. Our original HomeAway property search included WiFi as this was felt important, for our particular group circumstances, so we were disappointed to find out it wasn't available. So make sure you have 4G data if you feel you will need access to the internet when there. In all a great stay and would thoroughly recommend this property.

Nous avons séjourné chez marion durant une semaine, les échanges ont ete tres simple, nois avons également rencontré James qui est fort agréable. La maison correspond a l'annonce, malheureusement a cause de la meteo la piscine était verte a notre arrivé. Les chambres sont grandes et appréciables. Cependant la propreté de la cuisine est a revoir.. ainsi que les joints des salles de bain.Je finirai par une note positive tant par l'emplacement de la maison que par son extérieur !Merci Marion !

Très jolie coin de France

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour. Il faut faire quelques kilomètres pour visiter mais selon la période, cela se fait bien. La maison est spacieuse (et la propriété) et bien équipée. La propriétaire est très réactive quand nous lui demandions quelque chose.

séjour à Villenave-près-Marsac

la maison est très spacieuse avec un grand terrain bien entretenu et des zones d'ombres. La piscine est grande et très agréable. L'environnement immédiat présente peu d'intérêt mais les Pyrénées sont facilement accessibles à une heure de voiture. On peut y faire de magnifiques randonnées ou y monter en téléphérique ainsi que se baigner dans les stations thermales et même profiter de massages. Nous avons passé de très bonnes vacances

Très agréable séjour. Maison fidèle à nos attentes. Spacieuse, jardin magnifique et piscine parfaite

Maison idéale pour un séjour en famille : tout est prévu : jeux d’intérieur mais aussi ping-pong, vélos, ballon, badminton. Le linge est fourni, les lits sont faits à l’arrivée, les serviettes de bain et de piscine sont prêtes à être utilisées. On se sent comme chez soi et il y a même une armoire à pharmacie avec pansements et désinfectant à disposition ! Le jardin est magnifique, la piscine et le barbecue parfaits pour des dîners tranquilles dehors. La cuisine mériterait juste d’être un peu plus grande et un petit coup de frais dans la maison est à prévoir. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dedans comme pr. dehors.

La Maison Rose a besoin d’un rafraîchissemet

Nous avons apprécié le séjour dans la maison rose cependant il y a beaucoup de points négatif, voici nos pour et contre : Pour : -Grande maison avec grand jardin -Nombreuses activitées mise a disposition -Piscine agréable -Calme idéal pour le repos -Chambre en grand nombres Contre : -Comme beaucoup de commentaires depuis 2018 la maison a besoin d’être rénovée (moisissures, peinture écaillée, portail d’entrée, allées en ardoise… ) -Cuisine inadaptée pour une si grande maison -Propreté, la cuisine et le BBQ au gaz doivent être « nettoyée » nous ne devrions pas commencer nos vacance par un ménage -Sécurité, la piscine bien qu’agréable est censée avoir un accès sécurisé (un gond de volet vissé dans un galet ou une grillage suspendu à des vis fixé sur des piquet en bois ne le sont pas) -Loin de la haute montagne, certe ce n’est pas a cause de la maison mais si vous souhaitez faire de activités sachez qu’il faudra minimum 1h voir plus pour les atteindre -Enfin si les vieilles demeu Bien qu’agréable, les points négatifs en trop grand nombres ne nous laissera pas le souvenir que nous aurions dû avoir, 100£ nous ont été facturés pour la réparation du portail bricolé, j’espère qu’il le sera afin d’éviter un accident (le galet est tombé a quelque cm du pied d’un enfant) et pour finir un nid de frelon asiatique de la taille d’un melon nous attendait (heureusement que le nécessaire a été fait rapidement)

Good to get feedback which can be acted upon - not good to get such a negative review. As per the description of the house, the kitchen is small but has everything guests would need. However I am very sorry that on this occasion the usual high-standard of cleanliness was not maintained. The same goes for the gas barbecue. Of course no guest should feel the need to clean at the beginning of their holiday. Quite how the metal security gate just fell off the wall I do not know. I was not there. However, it was repaired in time for the arrival of the next guests who had young children, at a cost. In all our years of renting, this was the first time I have used a guest's deposit to pay for structural damage. Having studied the "before" and "after" photos, Abitel found in our favour. Before next summer, La Maison Rose is due to have a refresh - paintwork, paving and around the pool area. The mountains will not get any closer, the area will not get any smaller but the caretakers and I will take on board these comments and do our best to ensure that future guests will have an enjoyable holiday at La Maison Rose. Thank you.

Séjour champêtre dans une belle propriété.

Maison spacieuse et agréable, parfait pour séjour en famille ou entre amis, cependant une petite rénovation serait souhaitable. Le jardin est très étendue, bien isolé entre des clôtures (parfait pour les enfants). Une belle piscine à condition d’avoir le beau temps. Une région à découvrir avec notamment la visite de Lourdes. Merci à la propriétaire avec le petit cadeau de bienvenue.

Séjour agréable

Grande propriété, vaste jardin. La piscine est grande et agréable mais la maison et notamment la cuisine sont vétustes malgré qu’elles soient bien équipées. Un petit rafraîchissement de l’ensemble serait à envisager.

Région et demeure magnifiques

Un parc et une maison magnifiques. Nous étions 10 personnes dont 5 ados : 5 chambres et 3 salle de bains, une grande salle à manger et une salle de jeu, tout ce qu’il faut pour passer un superbe séjour. Le jardin et la piscine sont très beaux et très pratiques. Merci à la propriétaire pour son accueil.

Excellent séjour

Maison très agréable à vivre. Marion, la propriétaire est très réactive et sympathique. La piscine est nettoyée dès que nécessaire. Le beau temps nous a permit de passer un excellent séjour.

Séjour agréable

Nous avons passé une semaine en famille, très agréable dans la maison rose. Marion est une propriétaire très sympathique et réactive. Tout y est pour se divertir : piscine, Ping Pong, filet de badminton, cage de foot. Le grand jardin permet de multiplier les activités sans se gêner.

Agréable demeure

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour entre amis dans cette demeure où nous avons pu dédier un espace aux adolescents, ce qui a été apprécié par tous.

Très agréable

La maison est très spacieuse. Les draps, serviettes, vaisselle sont impeccable. La maison aurait besoin d'un petit rafraîchissement mais cela ne gène en rien. Le jardin est magnifique, ainsi que la piscine. La communication avec les propriétaires se fait très facilement. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour. Merci beaucoup ! 🙏

maison agréable

La maison est très grande à l'image de son terrain. La piscine est agréable. La décoration de la maison est vieillotte. Nous étions un groupe d'amis et nous avons passé un très bon séjour.

Wonderful Relaxing Holiday

We had a great holiday in this lovely property. There were 6 of us, two families and it was more than big enough with 5 bedrooms and lots of living space. The house had lots of character and rustic charm and the pool was heavenly. The whole property was completely enclosed which was great for the children and dog. The garden was huge and the surrounding countryside was beautiful. The village is very quiet and the nearest shop is about a 10 minute drive away but this means that it it is very peaceful and the only sounds to be heard at night are from nature! Perfect holiday had by all. Highly recommend.

My name is Marion and I live in London with my husband Simon and two children. La Maison Rose is a tranquil bolt hole which we enjoy as often as we can. In the photograph above, I have been picking plums which I store in rum to enjoy at Christmas and also make into chutney.

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

For some years our family holidays had been spent looking for a holiday home. We wanted somewhere near mountains so we could use it for skiing in the winter and somewhere warm enough, with a pool to be a great location for summer holidays. We also wanted a house big enough to accommodate friends and family. We didn't know this area of France at all, it felt 'undiscovered' and totally French. Marsac itself is a very small farming village. The only sounds are the church bells, cockerels in the morning, the occasional tractor, and the jingle of the van from the bakery in the next village on it's delivery round. However, drive south for ten minutes and there's E Leclerc supermarket and a further 5 minutes and you're in the bustling market town of Tarbes.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

I love the contrast between our busy London life and the peace of La Maison Rose. It may take a day or two, but everyone in the family relaxes and we enjoy quality time with each other. The Atlantic surfing beaches, Biarritz and the charming St. Jean de Luz are only a couple of hours away and well worth a day trip. The Pyrenees provide a spectacular view whatever the season! The largest ski resort in the Pyrenees, La Mongie, is an hour's drive. Walks, waterfalls and picnic places in the summer. Madiran wine from the gentle Madiran hills just north of La Maison Rose. As much as we enjoy days out, I love the fact that there's plenty to do (or not!) without leaving the property including table tennis, areas outside or indoors for relaxing and catching up on holiday reading and private swimming pool.
