Beautiful family-friendly gite in rural France

Set in a peaceful hamlet in rural Gascony, this 3 bedroom gite is part of an exceptional restoration of a grand 19th century house, originally belonging to the village doctor.

The fully-equipped gite blending period features with modern conveniences is attached to the main house right next to the large 12m x 6m heated swimming pool (which has a childrens' security cover) and has its own parking area and private terrace.

The house sits within large professionally landscaped grounds of almost 4 acres (1.5 ha) with a pond and orchard.

A further 2 acres of wild pasture leads down to a wooded valley (great for dens!), with a campfire area looking across the valley and to the Pyrenees.

The village is close to the thriving market town of Trie sur Baise, which has a local market on Tuesdays, a large Intermarche supermarket, 2 boulangeries, an excellent local wine shop and several restaurants and bars. A stage of the Tour de France started in the town in 2018 so the whole town centre enjoyed a major sprucing up!

As well as the swimming pool, there is an all weather tennis court (with rackets provided), table tennis table and a classic Bonzini table football table (as found in all good French bars!).

The gite itself comprises a large kitchen dining area with a wood-burning stove and tv (with dvd collection and X Box) which gives out onto a covered terrace with a table which comfortably seats 10.

Upstairs off a central hallway are 3 en suite double bedrooms (comprised of 2 doubles and 1 twin) which sleep 6. 2 single futons provide additional sleeping space for 2 more people.

The swimming pool area also has an outdoor shower, changing area and toilet, laundry and drying facilities and a built-in barbeque.

All the facilities such as the pool and tennis court are private but are shared with the main house when the owners are there (the main house is never rented out) with priority being given to use by the gite guests.
