Located on the foothills of the Churriana mountain range in the province of Málaga, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, this house is a whirlwind of culture and Andalusian charm, surrounded by the region’s natural beauty—many olive trees, a few prickly pears, almond and carob trees, and jasmine.
The house features a single story whose exterior and interior facades appear to be framed in different colors depending on the season, and it offers 600 square meters of living space.
Traditional materials were used in its construction, including terracotta for the floors, wooden joinery, handcrafted tiles, and a stone fountain.... All of this is bathed in natural light that floods every space; even the light filtering through its centuries-old olive trees lends grandeur to the entire property, which spans 1,400 square meters. Part of the renovation included the design of a separate swimming pool, situated at a distance from the house and surrounded by olive trees.
Outside, the landscaping features mature carob trees, as well as bougainvillea, night-blooming jasmine, roses, jasmine, lavender, and the quintessential plant of Andalusia—pilistras—that turn a stroll through the garden into an explosion of aromas and sounds: crickets, cicadas, wood pigeons, swifts, and, occasionally in the distance, hunting dogs during their feeding times.
And on the horizon, the mountains are visible, as is the Mediterranean Sea, which tints the views with blue. Without a doubt, an idyllic place to rest and recharge.
