Smugglers Cottage has been completely renovated to a very high standard and has two bedrooms sleeping four people. This magical cottage enjoys open plan living and a private garden with stunning views of the River Fowey and the pretty Town. For those colder times of year, curl up on one of the sofas, by the lovely log burner. Free logs are included. Watch the river and relax in the landscaped, sunny garden, with a small ornamental pond, is ideal for al fresco dining or chilling out. The kitchen with its range style cooker has everything you need from a home from home including a Nespresso machine. The reclaimed pew and chairs in the dining area is the perfect space for enjoying meals. The bedrooms are furnished with lovely bedsteads, luxury matresses and 100% cotton bed linen. Relax at the Juliette Balcony in the Master bedroom and watch the ships go by. Take time out in the beautiful bathroom with bath, feature shower and tumbled glass pebble tiles, there is in addition a conveniently located additional downstairs toilet. Smugglers Cottage is perfect for relaxing and provides an ideal base for exploring this very special part of Cornwall. It's only a short walk to the coast path and Readymoney Cove for lots of lovely walks. We are dog friendly too.Free WIFI and Free initial basket of logs.
Parking is available just 2 minutes walk away in the main carpark and you can purchase a weekly ticket. Price 2026 Ā£27.30 or in advance online to include most long stay car parks ion Cornwall.

Beautiful cottage close to the centre of Fowey. Ali was so helpful and accommodating for us. The view from the cottage is amazing, and the beds very comfortable! Will return!

Brilliant stay

Great little cottage in a great location, very clean and everything we needed. Short walk to the town and beach, we had a lovely time and Ali was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely go again.

We had a wonderful stay. The house is very clean, tasefully decorated and the view is amazing.The location is very good.We had a very uncomplicated and heartfelted contact with Alison and Pete. They are just lovley, caring and very helpful.Our first but not last visit to Fowey!

Cottage is absolutely first class. Absolutely spotlessly clean. Every amenity you could possibly want including dishwasher and washing machine. Beds very comfortable with beautiful linen. Owner was contactable. No faults at all. I can totally recommend it.

Fantastic cottage

As soon as we arrived at Smugglers Cottage we knew we were going to have a fantastic week. The cottage has everything you need, the beds are comfortable and the views are incredible. Fowey has lots to offer, great pubs and restaurants, our favourites the Ship Inn, Havenerā€™s and Bufala. The ice cream at Rubys was also a favourite of ours. We definitely want to come back again.

Lovely week in Cornish cottage

Comfortable cottage. Excellent view over the estuary and well designed small garden and nice patio to view it from. The cottage was clean and had all you needed. We found it a little cramped in the living area and the bathroom. Highlights of our week were our several boat trips, scrumptious meals out and day trips to Eden and Heligan.

Wonderful Cottage in a lovely region

This cottage is ideally located for exploring Cornwall and the surrounding area. The walk into the center is steep but short. Great little shops and lots of bars and restaurants round off the holiday perfectly. The ferries to Bodinnick and Polruan run at short intervals and enable wonderful circular walks. Be sure to hike the Coastpath to Lantic Beach, visit the Eden Project (be sure to do the roof tour!) and also walk the Saint Way to Golant. We can highly recommend Fowey and the cottage.

Some points

This is a great little cottage. V cosy and v comfortable. V helpful owner and good feeling, wifi was good and access easy, good kitchen equipment and bedding. Some suggestions for consideration: the information book is out of date and is missing some important details eg how to operate the TV, there was no or not much cleaning, dishwashing, dishwasher, washing machine materials for long stays, no mop for floors, little material on Fowey and surrounds (eg maps, information, etc) but overall it was very good

Lovely Fowey cottage

The cottage is beautiful, very clean and well furnished. A short walk down into Fowey & (as others have said) a very steep walk back up! The cottage was an excellent base to explore the area with Charlestown, Mevagissey etc not far away. As we normally visit the north coast we did find ourselves drawn back to the north coast beaches for the waves & bodyboarding. However, the beaches nearby (Readymoney cove in Fowey) & Polkerris (10 mins drive) were great for families with small children. We had originally planned to take our dog as the cottage is advertised as dog friendly but we were glad we didnā€™t as the garden would not have been very practical with no grass & a low wall at the end which our dog could easily have jumped. Apart from that no negatives at all, we really enjoyed our stay!

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefĆ¼hlt. Das cottage entspricht zu100% der Beschreibung. Es ist allerdings relativ klein, vor allem die Schlafzimmer und das Badezimmer sind winzig. Daher wĆ¼rde ich nicht so gerne mit 4 Erwachsenen dort Urlaub machen, fĆ¼r uns zu zweit war es super.

Smugglers Cottage liegt erhƶht in Fowey, einem romantischen KĆ¼stenort in Cornwall, und bietet einen schƶnen Blick auf den Hafen. Das Cottage ist perfekt beschrieben worden und die Gastgeberin Ali stellt eine groƟe Zahl an weiteren nĆ¼tzlichen Informationen vorab bereit (sowohl zum Objekt wie auch zur Umgebung). Viele tolle AusflĆ¼ge haben wir von hier aus gestartet oder haben uns einfach mal auf dem Sofa oder im gut gestalteten Garten ausgeruht. Pete and I moved to Fowey in 2001 after we fell in love with it when we sailed here. We renovated Smugglers Cottage ourselves and wanted to make it a real home from home. We handle the bookings and management of the cleaning and maintenance ourselves with the help of our lovely housekeeper Celene. We both love Fowey and can often be seen out on the water in "Little Gem" our fishing boat.

When we first looked at Smugglers Cottage it was in a sorry state and the garden was overgrown, but we fell in love with the views and magical feeling it had. We really enjoyed renovating it and bringing it back to life. Loving how you can just sit on the terrace and watch the boats go by. Or chill by the fire with a glass of wine. The views are really special from the both inside and out.
