Perfect Location

Went to Maui for the marathon and loved the Whaler. So clean, right next to everything that you could want and the condo was perfect. Had a well stocked kitchen and the property was beautiful. Would absolutely stay there again.

The room was a little dated but worked ok for us. The kitchen was tiny and did not have very many items to cook. We had to borrow a cooking sheet. There was not a mixing bowl so we just had to use multiple cereal bowls. The coffee pot is NOT a keurig. I didn't know beforehand and couldn't tell in the pictures to know what to pre-buy at the store. Pros:Beach Amenites-had a little cooler, beach chairs, snorkle gear (2 sets), umbrellaGreat locationParking garage has shopping carts to help carry groceriesWhalers Village is so closeGreat outdoor grill areaPool was never crowded. (Hot tub was sometimes)Clean-had a broom and vacuum to help with sand controlBalcony-Had a great view. It was from the side to look at the beach but still great. Cons:Dated-been a while since I have used a sliding mirrored cubbyKitchen-See aboveOnly left very minimal supplies-trash bags, toilet paper, dish detergent, laundry detergent. I feel like they could have left more or not at all. It is annoying to buy a whole box of trash bags/TP to just use one or two. Towels-There were 4 bath towels, 2 cup towels and 3 hand towels. With only the 5 laundry pods given it wasn't really enough to keep everything clean. Bring extra so you don't have to buy a whole bag.Sliding door-Didn't shut perfect and the wind would whistle if you didn't jiggle it just right or leave it cracked.

Perfect place to stay!!

We loved adventuring on Maui, but looked forward to coming “home” each day to enjoy the beach and sunset. We loved the amenities as well as the cozy quietness that this property offered. We will only stay here for our next visit.

Great Condo - Beautiful View

This is a comfortable condo with everything needed for a short or extended stay. The owner was wonderful, easy to contact, and made sure we enjoyed our stay (which we did!). Overall, a great experience. I would definitely rent the condo again.

Location is fabulous

I stayed at this unit for a week with my daughter. We wanted a trip before she went off to college. It was the perfect location for this. Normally, my husband and I stay in a condo near Kahana or south Kihei. I loved the easy access to shops, restaurants, and great snorkeling. The grounds were beautiful, parking was great, the room was comfortable. The unit could use some updating as that would help with the cleanliness feel. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this unit.

Loved it we will be back.

We found our stay to be wonderful. We saved so much money on food. The facility was great at helping with any questions we had. We were able to have some friends over for dinner, then set out on out on our balcony and enjoyed the beautiful sunset. With the long beach walk you are able to do and see almost any thing you want. Safeway is only 15 minutes away for money saving food goods. We are planning on coming back next year for sure. Thank you. Janita

Spectacular Location

The condo was exactly how it is described. The bed was comfortable and the condo had everything that you may need for preparing, cooking, and eating meals on those days that you do not want to eat out. Location is one of the best that I have stayed on my trips to Maui, close to shops and restaurants and on the drier side of the island. The only complaint that I have is that someone needs to clean behind the overhead lighting fixes in the bathroom in particular. The grounds were clean and as with most resort/condo locations in the area, plush with plenty of eye catching vegetation. Other than a couple of day outings elsewhere in near by Lahaina, day trip to Hana, and a morning snorkel in Kapalua, we spent most of the time on the beach in front of the Condo and snorkeling around Black Rock (about 300 yards or so away).

Great location!

This is the best location on Maui in my opinion. Excellent beach, and proximity to Whaler's Village with the variety of shops and restaurants is excellent. The location of this particular unit within the Whaler is also very good with a great ocean view from the balcony. The unit itself is functional and served our needs, however it is grimy, old and dated. The ceiling tiles in the bathroom are nasty and need a serious cleaning. We knew what we were getting into, and as we stayed at a very busy time of year, we were satisfied with what we got. However, this unit could be fantastic with a small amount of money invested in some critical updates, and you would have a waiting list a mile long! We would definitely consider this unit again if it got just a few updates.

Had to move to another unit due to discovery of bed bugs

Checked into this unit, but did not stay long due to our discovery of what appeared to be bed bugs. We killed one in a tissue and quickly headed out to buy spray, which we doused the bed/ bed area in as we had just unpacked all of our things. I commend the property manager for quickly getting us into another unit in the Whaler that same night. We ended up feeling comfortable there for our 8 night stay. However surprised there was no follow up with us after that, given the severity of the issue. The complex is great and in an ideal location. My concern would be the cleanliness for units not managed by the Whaler themselves. For this reason can’t say I would recommend

old, dirty and deceiving

The Whaler is a prefect place to stay . We own a property's there. We came early because we wanted more time. Please whom ever the cleaning service is needs to vacuum the sand from the corners as well as the furniture . The chair in the corner has rusty buttons on the cushion and was full of sand. The most redeeming quality was the bed! totally comfortable. The whole place needs a upgrade , from the bunching and stain carpet , to the peele wallpaper. the kitchen was clean but the marble cutting board is gross. And the bathroom has and odor. The pictures on the site make it look like you have courtyard view. .. but not so much! you get a view of the hotel next door .. Listen like I said I am and owner, and our time shares our beautifully redone. please take some time and money and put it into a great piece of property .. my daughter rented a studio in tower two that was super clean with some inexpensive updates, and the owner was very accommodating !, she also added some personal touches for her guest. Please take the time and upgrade it will add value to what can be a wonderful place !

Another week in paradise

This was our second time staying in this unit at the Whaler. We were pleasantly surprised to see brand new carpet! It’s the perfect location for us. We enjoy amenities, the beautiful grounds, the view from our balcony and again the location can’t be beat. Will definitely return!

3 week getaway

The Whaler is one of our favorite spots. The location is perfect for beach and shopping. Unit 714 is everything you need for a relaxing stay. I would highly recommend it for quality and price.

Not the best unit!

The resort property and hallways were very well kept. The unit itself was very 'tired'. The wallpaper was peeling, the kitchen cabinets need replacing as there is a very bad odor, especially under the sink. The kitchen had no room for groceries; we had to empty a cupboard. There was an issue with the patio doors. The screen door had trouble sliding and the glass door had a gap, which created a whistle, when there was wind. An attempt was made to fix this and we were left with some duck tape to cover it, if there was wind! On the third last night, we had a cockroach in the room, which scurried into the 'owner's locked closet' and we sealed that off with a towel! Ugh!

Nice property. Great location! Wish we had been notified that the pool was not available during our stay. Property did have access to pool at adjacent property. Just not as convenient as having access to the pool at the property.
