The area:

Nature lovers will appreciate close proximity to the Nantahala National Forest, Nantahala Outdoor Center, Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, Smoky Mountain National Park, the Appalachian Trail, Stecoah Gap, Tsali Recreation (mountain biking), and Deep Creek Tubing.

Boaters will love easy access to Fontana Lake or Lake Santeetlah with different marina and launch options nearby.

Drivers will appreciate opportunities to cruise the Tail of the Dragon or the Cherohala Skyway.

Just 30 minutes away, you will find various activities in Bryson City, such as the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, shopping, breweries and restaurants.

The cabin:

With updated decor and furnishings, everything in the cabin has been curated for a comfortable stay.

Enjoy coffee or happy hour at the bistro set on the deck. Read a book under the trees in an adirondack. Relax by the outdoor fire-pit or in the hot tub beneath the stars.

Inside, you'll find a well-equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances and fully stocked cabinets with numerous cooking and dining essentials.

Plan your dinner under the antler chandelier at the table for 6 and then cozy up by the gas log fireplace to watch your favorite movie.

Starlink internet available for wifi and the Smart tv in the living room. Roku tvs are in both bedrooms for streaming.

The downstairs bedroom features a king sized bed with a hallway bathroom. The downstairs bedroom, bathroom and hallway are divided from the main living area with sliding/privacy doors so it feels like a master suite area.

Upstairs, you will find a second bedroom (loft) with a king sized bed, an open closet which can be used as an additional sleeping nook with a full-sized Murphy Bed. There is also a small desk/workspace.

The drive to the cabin is a one lane road with a somewhat steep incline into the driveway. Four-wheel-drive is not required, but is advised. Experienced motorcyclists only.

Guests looking to store a boat or motorcycle trailer are welcome to use a community parking area that is marked just as you enter "The Pines" community but before you start up the hill to the cabin.

Cell service can be difficult at this cabin, but if you have 'Wi-Fi calling' feature on your phone, that will work with our free Wi-Fi service. There is a sweet spot for cell service in an emergency at the Teaberry Campground located at the bottom of the hill by the entrance to 'The Pines' community.

Fast, reliable internet is provided by Starlink.

Also, because this property is managed by the most reputable company in Bryson City, Watershed Cabins, you will participate in their Xplorie program. We stayed here back in September, and it was lovely. The hill to the cabin was a little steep, but after a few times, it was pretty easy. The cabin was cozy, and the bed was very comfortable. The deck was very peaceful, and fall was beautiful. I felt that everything was within a good distance. The cabin provided everything we needed, and it felt like home.

The cabin was beautiful - the setting, the decor as well as the amenities - they even decorated for Christmas which made our stay super comfy cozy! I was very impressed with how well-stocked the kitchen was, making it easy to throw together a few quick meals in between enjoying the beautiful mountain drives and heavenly hot tub sessions. This was the first time my husband and I took a trip by ourselves without the kids since our honeymoon almost 5 years ago, and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect setting to reconnect and enjoy each other. We will definitely be back!

Nothing short of spectacular. Location was great given we had scheduled zip lining at the near by Nantahala Outdoor Center. Quiet property. Firewood provided but not used. Lights on at arrival to make entering easy. Would definitely stay again!

Big storm results in an awesome stay!

Our initial cabin rental didn't have any running water due to a strong storm with heavy lightning, that caused some damage to the well water line. The next morning, we were upgraded to a nicer cabin that had all of the essentials. A big shout out to the team that helped accommodate us in a prompt manner. We enjoyed nearby activities and loved our stay.

Great property and clean!

My dad, brother, sister and I booked this location to be close to in and out hikes of the Appalachian trail. What a great location and property. Hot tub, house and fire pit were perfect. Only constructive feedback would be that the upstairs shower was broken and the handle to turn on the tub water fell off. Be prepared for a steep drive up the road and use a 4wheel vehicle to be safe!

Paid in full but Never checked in. NOT MOTORCYCLE OR TRAILER ACCESSIBLE..but this was never listed this way. The management company was a joke when trying to get help or at least some of our money back. Even before checking in it had hot tub problems and the wifi was going to be out all week. Property ,host , and watershed management were a complete scam. We were blessed to find a local place that could take us for the week and our vacation was saved. Lesson learned.

Overall pretty good, but had some issues

This was a really cute cabin with a nice view and good amenities, the included tickets to local attractions were a nice bonus. We especially appreciated how comfy the bed and linens were, and the place was very clean. Check in was a breeze. However, we did have a few issues that weren't just acts of God. We received two different passwords for accessing the wifi, both of which were wrong. We did finally get access after some stress by locating the router and using the password on the router. Additionally, the pots, pans, and bakeware provided were mostly unusable (as in scratched so badly they hardly even had their nonstick surface, were rusting, or had so much gunk on them they were unusable), and the dishwasher was unusable as there was a drawer handle preventing anyone from opening the door more than a foot. I will say, though, that we had an issue that was no one's fault and the repair person who came out was simply lovey, and we discussed the other issues with him and the staff, and it sounded like they were going to look in to fixes for the kitchen things. Overall, I would come back, I would just bring my own kitchen gear for cooking!

Amazing weekend

My partner and I had amazing weekend in the cabin. We couldnā€™t ask for a better cabin view. When we was looking for cabin we wanted a cabin out in the wood without phone service so we could spend time without distractions from our phones! We had amazing time playing pool upstairs in the loft and soaking in the hot tub ! The only thing we regret is not booking the cabin for a whole week!

Great location, could not play pool realistically

We got there 10 minutes early & had to wait til the exact time to unlock the door. Upon entering, there were dead bugs everywhere, on the countertops & floors in every room so I had to clean first thing. I rented the place based on the pool table & hot tub but the room was to small to play pool which was very frustrating. The hot tub only had 1 working jet. The freezer was dirty & if you slept in the Murphy bed, you were in a closet. There was no way to play darts because the pool table was in the way. I feel like the shouldn't draw you in to features that you really can't use, false advertisement. I was told that the bugs are invasive which was a ridiculous excuse because I live in the country with "invasive bugs" too but they are not dead all over my house. No one had been there to clean before we arrived and I'm not sure the last time someone cleaned the ceiling fans. There were rules posted on everything which after signing an agreement that took 45 minutes to read, I expected better & I would not stay here again.

House is a bit out of date. The electric breakers were all blown upon arrival so there was no water or nternet or wifi calling. Breaker for water pump would not reset. Barely had cell signal to call & waited 2 hrs before unpacking before maintenance arrived to fix breaker box. It was not just a thrown breaker. Hot tub was green & slimy so was only able to use it the 3rd/last night after maintenance serviced it while we were gone the 3rd afternoon. Firewood was too wet to burn for campfire from a rain 2 days before arrival. There's not enough room to actually use the pool table properly. There was 1 dart for the dartboard. Blower for the gas fireplace didn't work. Ceiling fan in main room squeaked too loudly to use. There's no toaster. Microwave is very weak. Front desk was responsive. Good location. Very clean

Great Time!

The cabin was easy to get to, very clean and was perfect for a quick weekend getaway. Wood provided was great for a fire and the hot tub was great. We ran into no issues while staying but felt sure that management would have taken care of any issues promptly. Thanks again for the great weekend!

Relaxing Anniversary Weekend

It was very nice overall. The only disappointing thing was not being able to use the hot tub as the water was green even with us placing the shock packets both nights we were there. We were really looking forward to that. It was clean and the pool table kept us occupied.

Fantastic Views

The cabin was perfect for what my husband and I wanted. The hot tub was clean and fantastic. The fire pit with provided wood was great. The wood was wet, but we made it work. The county the cabin is located in is a dry county. So FYI bring your own. We had a great time using the pool table. The views were gorgeous, just closer to other cabins then expected.

Wonderful clean dog friendly getaway - good location

We absolutely loved the location, privacy and amenities of this cabin . Super clean and dog friendly which was a plus for us . The location is perfect for a quiet, private and restful getaway. My husband and I enjoyed the newer and super clean hot tub, a few camp fires and a few games of pool. Communication with property manger is prompt , the only thing we needed to communicate about was if there was a kurig or coffee maker !

Perfect Cabin Get-away

The cabin was a great get-away. The fire pit, hot tub, and porch were nice to enjoy the outdoors. We loved the pool table and dart board. It was great for a rainy evening. Overall, the cabin was comfortable and cozy. I would definitely stay there again.

Awesome Cabin

This cabin was perfect for our trip up to the Tail of the Dragon. The quiet setting was so nice for a peaceful evening by the fire or coffee on the deck in the morning. This was the perfect little cabin for our family. Itā€™s distance from other cabins was great. The hot tub and pool table was perfect combination of activities to enjoy. I was helping some friends buy a cabin in the area, and discovered the investment value of Graham County was excellent. I was so impressed that when a neighboring cabin came on the market, I bought it, and Buckhorn was born. If you are interested in additional room in a neighboring cabin, the 2 bedroom Thunderhead cabin is easily walkable and the 3 bedroom Big Swag is also nearby.

1 bedroom cabins are fairly rare, and couples tend to get forced into paying for a bedroom they really don't need. Or couples with small kids might want a sleeping spot that is little better than just a sofa, so I added the Murphy bed for additional sleeping. This also works for singles or other adults that may want to keep the costs down without having to share a bed. I designed this cabin for these situations, but put features like the Bose speakers, luxury linens, and the stainless appliances in there because I don't believe that budget travel should skimp on certain items.There's always camping for that, right?
