The Arches is a single story home which is in a quadrangle where the hosts and other family members live. It is a very comfortable, spacious holiday let that has everything you are likely to want during your stay. You are greeted by Emma and Karl who are friendly and welcoming. Emma showed us the home and explained a few things like the heating. There is also an amazingly generous welcome pack of foods, drinks and treats; essentials like milk, bread, butter but also wine and beer and nice biscuits etc. There are games if you want them, books, and info on local places. The kitchen is really well stocked and if you needed something I am certain Emma would provide - within reason, of course! We had a great holiday, knowing we were returning to a comfy, hassle free home for the week.

A fabulous stay

We had a fantastic week staying at The Arches. Karl and Emma made us feel very welcome and the cottage is light, spacious, beautifully decorated and excellently equipped. The welcome pack was a wonderful bonus after a long journey up. The location is perfect, set in a quiet location but within walking distance to the local village and a short drive from the beach and other touristy locations. We loved staying here and will definitely return.

Stunning property that oozes style and quality. Very spacious and superbly equipped and we were supplied with the finest 'welcome pack' we've ever seen We don't have the most extensive experience of property rentals but this property raises the bar and sets a new standard. Good quiet location giving access to many places of interest within 45 minutes drive.

Last minute booking.

Super location to explore the area, very peaceful and relaxing. Property was exceptional, lots of space and comfortable. The welcome tray was the best we have ever had. Owners were extremely kind and helpful, and nothing was too much, even when we asked for a new summer duvet.

May Half Term

Can't praise this property and owners enough. From the spotless property, fantastic welcome pack, beautiful area to the three Labradors made this one of our best breaks in Northumberland. Nothing was too much trouble for Emma and Karl, going out of their way to make us feel welcome. We can't recommend The Arches enough and can't wait to go back again.

AMAZING!

What an amazing place to stay! The owners were kind, helpful and close at hand if we needed them. The cottage was the cleanest, comfiest and most welcoming place we have ever stayed in. The welcome pack was just what we needed after our journey and actually lasted the whole week. The cottage was close to all ‘touristy’ places and we managed to find quite a few places off the beaten track too! An amazing holiday and as Karl waved us off this morning, we assured him we would be back!

Excellent location and property

The property was in a great location for easy travel to a number of places of interest. It is set in an old yard which is very quiet and peaceful. The property has been very well kept, the decorating is fresh and the furniture fits the place perfectly. There is all there that you need to enable you to enjoy your stay. The owners make you feel very welcome, and we had the very best 'welcome pack' that we have ever had on our arrival. A massive thank you to Emma and Karl.

100% Satisfaction

Lovely rural setting, immaculate and spacious property, high quality comfortable and convenient furnishing. Emma and Karl were attentive and friendly hosts with an easy, relaxed approach. The Black Bull provided very good pub food in Lowick, 5 minutes drive away. We are an elderly but fit couple and for us this was a perfect base from which to explore the castles and beaches of this beautiful area.

Another wonderful stay at Lucker Lea

Beautiful holiday home in a wonderful location, perfect for easy access to Holy Island, Berwick upon Tweed and many of the lovely coast and inland places to visit in the borders area. The home itself is spotless and well equipped with all you could need, and Karl and Emma such lovely hosts. The welcome hamper is generous to the extreme and the best we’ve ever had anywhere! I was staying with my elderly father who has limited mobility, using a walker, and The Arches was suitable for his needs with easy access (no steps) and all on one level inside. He hired a mobility scooter from Berwick and we enjoyed walks on the town walls and pier, Holy Island (to the castle), Wooler Common as well as along the quiet roads around Lucker Lea going into Lowick. Highly recommend this place and we hope to return again.

A great place to stay. We had a very warm welcome from Emma and lots of goodies in the welcome pack. The house is lovely, cosy and clean and the garden is big and private. The location gives good access the coast and the national park, both short drives away and very beautiful. I would definitely recommend.

Great Stay

Emma & Karl were excellent host, the welcome pack was fabulous ,the location is just what we needed, quiet & remote. The accommodation was very clean with everything you needed supplied. Enjoyed our stay & will definitely return.

Fabulous stay at The Arches

Just returned from a fabulous week at The Arches. The property was very comfortable and spacious with all the amenities we needed. The welcome basket was gratefully received and very welcome after a long drive. Emma and Karl are wonderful hosts and are very attentive to ensure everything runs smoothly. Highly recommend staying here.

Northumberland getaway

We were returning guests at this property having stayed here in 2021. Karl & Emma are wonderful hosts and it served as a great base to explore Northumberland and the Scottish borders. Property has everything you need, clean and comfortable in a quiet / relaxing location. Wouldn't hesitate to book again.

A really lovely cottage in a great location.

Karl and Emma were very welcoming and the welcome pack was the best we've ever had. The cottage was spotless. It was so nice to have a good size television and all the amenities. It was very well furnished. The location is excellent. It was easy to find and is close to many places of interest including Lindisfarme and the Farme Islands.

Recommended by friends and came up to expectations. Spotlessly clean and very well appointed. Owners to hand to answer any queries. Good location for access to Holy Island and the coastal footpaths.
