Lovely beach front property

Great family villa with good pool and good location right on the beach front. Walk into La Cala itself isn't great, can't walk along the beach at night so have to walk next to busy road; Not perfect but only 10 mins or so therefore OK. Villa maintained well and very clean, lots of ants to contend with! Abi was very welcoming and handled all our questions and issues really well. Overall it was a great villa for a family holiday with lots of outside space by the pool and a family meals outside. La Cala was lovely also. Not sure I would go back again but very happy with the villa and overall holiday.

Cleanliness fell short

This villa has an excellent location and Beautiful. It was well built and furnished, but unfortunately has been neglected and ants were everywhere. Instead of enjoying our time there, we had to deal with the ants living there. It was also listed that it comes with washer and dryer, but the dryer was not functioning and we ended up having to use a Laundromat. To be fair, the agency was responsive when we contacted them, but the issues were not resolved to our satisfaction.

Fantastic stay at Villa El Chaparral

We have rented more than 12 VRBO properties in different countries. This is a fantastic property and we had a great stay in La Cala de Mijas. The layout of the house and the external living area (pool and patio) works well. The property is even better than what is shown in the pictures on the website. The house and external living area are appointed comfortably. The kitchen is large and well appointed. We were not even aware of the lower patio and room that is close to the beach. The property is closer to the village than we were expecting. There are great supermarkets near by (Mercadona is by far the best). Another point is that we made day sightseeing trips to Malaga, Cordoba, Gibralter, and Tangier, Morrocco. The location of the house near A7 and west of Malaga made it very easy to get to all of these locations, particularly Gibralter and Tarifa for the ferry to Tangier. Abi, thanks for letting us have a great vacation in this great house.. Rob and family

VƤldigt fint hus med omedelbar nƤrhet till havet, bra vƤrd och bra med utrustning i kƶket. Fin pool och vidunderlig hƤrlig utsikt ƶver havet. VƤldigt trevlig restaurang i anslutning till huset. De nackdelar som vi tyckte var nƤrheten till en hƄrt trafikerad vƤg som Ƥven hƶrdes till en del invƤndigt. Med tanke pƄ hur mƄnga huset kan hƤrbƤrgera sƄ var grillen pƄ tok fƶr liten.

On the beach

Property has been recently refurbished it is bright modern and spacious, lots of outside space to relax and steps from the property to the beach. There is a bar restaurant close by on the beach. Further along for shops and restaurants you are in walking distance but it is by a busy road. We loved our stay and hope to return.

Beautiful Home in a stunning Location

Property was really good apart from the invasion of ants! Pool excellent.. Air con in bedroom ok but on a 2 hour timer so had to keep getting up in night to put it back on again as it was so hot!

NADA QUE VER DECEPCIONANTE

Total mente decepcionante 1 Tenƭamos hormigas por toda la casa. No podƭamos dejarnos nada fuera incluso tenƭamos hormigas en las camas de la planta inferior , armarios de habitaciones y cocina e incluso nos entraban en las bolsas neveras cerradas que tuvimos que comprar para la comida. Al final compramos cubos grandes con tapa hermƩtica (TENEMOS FOTOS) 2 No tenƭamos enseres suficientes de cocina para la diez personas. Pedimos 18 vasos y nos dijeron que para que querƭamos 18 si Ʃramos 10. sartenes habƭa dos 1 pequeƱa y otra un poco mas grande , pedimos 1 tambiƩn. 3 Nos tuvieron que reponer tostadora, cafetera , 1 cama , el extractor no funcionaba , el motor de la piscina o sea una casa que no estaba preparada para las vacaciones por el precio que costaba (hay que decir que el extractor nos lo quisieron venir a cambiar, pero comprenderƩis que si voy de vacaciones no es para estar esperando al electricista ni nada por el estilo). 4 El aire acondicionado estaba con temporizador , o sea en mitad de la noche si tenias calor te levantas para dar al temporizador y pones el aire ( todo un lujo). 5 En fin una casa que no merece la pena el dinero que se pago. Hemos estado en mejores y mas baratas. Lo siento muy decepcionante.

Una semana inolvidable

Hemos pasado una semana estupenda en familia, la ubicaciĆ³n de la casa, en primerĆ­sima lĆ­nea de playa es alucinante, da la sensaciĆ³n de que vas en un barco, la zona es muy tranquila y la casa muy cĆ³moda. El Ćŗnico pro Lena han sido las hormigas que se han empeƱado en comerse nuestra comida. En general muy recomendable

The house is quite nice with a lot of terrace space and direct access to the sea. We found that the house looked quite a bit smaller than it appeared on photos. We had a bit of an issue with the fact that the air con, although available in every room, was only working on the timer for 2 hours at a time. Also the sunbeds were definitely in need of replacement, most of not all of them were worn down and not comfortable at all. Otherwise location is quite good apart from being right next to a highway, with the town centre being a short walk away. It was nice to have direct access to the sea albeit you need to walk a little bit in order to enter the sea without any rocks(quite a few sea urchins so should be careful. Abi was a helpful host and the checkin and checkout process was smooth.

Well functioning house right on the beach

We enjoyed our stay immensely. The villa is situated between the highway and the sea, but the noise from the cars doesnā€™t bother you because of the lovely sound from the waves. The only minus was ants everywhere. Even thou we put all our food in bags with ziplocks and had ant traps everywhere the ants got to the food. They were in the fridge too. The restaurant next door serves good Spanish food.

A lovely long weekend

A group of 9 rented the villa for a special occasion and we stayed for a long weekend. The location was great, the villa was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. Julie & Abi were available before and during our stay to answer any questions we had, they arranged airport transfers for us all and were a great help. We were able to check in early which was great & had the most amazing stay. The only down side to our trip was that we didnā€™t book longer, there is always next time. I would most definitely recommend this villa

Amazing villa in fabulous location

Stayed in this wonderful villa for a long weekend. 10 of us stayed & there was plenty of room. The villa is just how the photos show it if anything itā€™s even better. Superb location with a lovely restaurant right next door. Our party had a great night at Oliviaā€™s La Cala, great food and excellent service most definitely worth a visit. Everything is local and within walking distance. During our stay we did have an issue with the downstairs toilet not working, but Abi was easy to contact & sent a maintenance man quickly out to fix it. Donā€™t leave any food out as it will attract the ants, even nuts left out attracts them. Apart from that, this villa is fantastic and I would highly recommend it. Will definitely be returning.

Wonderful location!

The house and location were fantastic - plenty of room for the nine of us and just as described. It's a short walk to town for restaurants and small shops. We took one day trip to Granada but otherwise mostly relaxed by the pool. We highly recommend this property!

Fantastic Villa By The Sea

The Villa lived up to the images on the property description. It was a really comfortable and stylish holiday home that accommodated our family group of 6 adults , 3 children and 1 infant without any problems. Bar Sherriff next door is very handy with good quality food and service. Mijas Costa is a really nice place particulary for families or couples and Olivia's although quite expensive is well worth a visit. Abi is easily contactable should you need help with anything as their office is in La Cala De Mijas, so that is reassuring. The walk in to Mijas takes 15 mins and a taxi back is only 8 euros, you may find it better to do it this way as the walk is alongside the busy road. While this could be a slight downside for some people our group agreed it was a minor and did not detract from the overall experience.
