A characterful stone built traditional detached cottage, on one level set in a quarter of an acre of grounds, in a rural location with two other cottages close by. The cottage sleeps 5 in one king size, one twin and one single bedroom. It is a mile from child friendly Newport sands and Newport's exceptional 18 hole Golf course. For keen walkers the coastal path can be accessed from Newport sands. Due to the rural location a car is needed unless you are very keen walkers/cyclists.

The perfect place to relax and unwind. Fantastic location, close to the beach and town but set in the peace and quiet of the countryside. The cottage was beautiful, warm and homely, with everything you need for a week away from it all. Can’t wait to visit again!

We had a wonderful stay in this well appointed cottage which is full of character and has every amenity you could need . Our dog loved the garden and the welcome bottle of wine was most welcome. The local town is really nice with great choices of places to eat. Particularly recommend Llys Mannyg

Lovely cabin

The cabin was great, we loved our time. The beach was close and great for kids/dogs,the surroundings were very cozy.The village had several nice places

Second time staying at this wonderful property and second time we had a fantastic stay, everything you could want is provided for a very comfortable stay, we wouldn't hesitate returning! In fact I could live here no problem x

We had an excellent stay at the cottage, it was very homely, clean and well equipped. The location was also very good as the property was accessable to the coastal path which was approx a 5 min drive in the car. Would definitely stay again. Thank you Ann

Beautiful country cottage near Newport beach. Convenient travel to St. David's, Dina and Cardigan. Nice shower, beds were comfy, and kitchen had everything we needed to cook for three meals a day. Large refrigerator held all our groceries we picked up from Tesco. Got petrol in Dina. Patio and garden are lovely. Description by host is accurate on all counts. Loved it and would stay there again. Home away from home. Gets a 5 out of 5 stars.

An amazing place to stay cosy and most welcoming and welcoming gifts, everything you need and more, the log burner for me amazing. The views are one of the best. Would definitely recommend it the peace and quiet. It’s was amazing to learn about the history of the building.

Fabulous stay

Fantastic home to stay for our short visit. Location is fabulous. Local Pub Golden Lion where we ate everynight was amazing and hospitality outstanding. Our Host Ann has been amazing welcoming us into her fabulous home that warmed around us immediately. Will definitely come again

All round perfect! Beautiful cottage, fantastic location

We spent just under a week in the cottage, it was beautiful, there was all we could need and more, fully stocked (including good knives which is so rare in rentals), the bed we used was very comfortable and the cottage stayed really cosy. We really appreciated the log burner in the evenings and how conveniently it is located an easy walk (or drive) into the village and lots of routes to run whatever distance you feel up to.

Beautiful cottage

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. It had everything we needed for a long weekend and we loved all the little details - we were almost disappointed that the weather was so good and we didn't have an excuse to stay in!

Upon arrival, our whole family was absolutely blown away. In reality, the cottage was even more beautiful than in the photos. The location was perfect for plenty of lovely excursions; we went on several hikes along the coast. Newport is very charming, offering various restaurants, shops, and scenic walks. The beach is also just a short drive away and is stunning. We enjoyed fantastic weather, and our favorite spot was the terrace at the back of the house—whether for reading, breakfast, or—thanks to the well-equipped kitchen—dinner. Our dog also loved the enclosed back garden, and the hosts even provided dog towels, waste bags, and food bowls in case you had forgotten to bring your own. The only downside was the lack of proper dog walking paths right outside the cottage. Our dog is quite anxious and didn't like walking along the road. However, the dog-friendly beach is very close by, and you can park there for free in the early morning and evening. This was our first holiday in Wales, but hopefully not our last, and we would certainly book this cottage again. Thanks for the welcome basket and this wonderful holiday!

Lovely property in a great location for Newport and other locations in the West and Southwest of Wales. Very quiet, well equipped, private, plenty of outside space.We found the main bed to be uncomfortable but that sort of thing is very subjective and no mattress is suitable for everyone. Because there was just the two of us we changed room part way through the stay.

Wonderful

Delightful cottage with everything you need and more for a self-catering break. Loved the collection of antiques and art which added lots of character to the cottage which was very homely, large garden which I imagine would be lovely in the warm summer months and the hamper left for us was a lovely ,appreciated touch, would love to return and stay longer, didn't want to leave!

a rural haven, in a characterful high quality cottage

The cottage is so full of character, full of antiques and artefacts, many related to Wales. It is near the pretty small town of Newport and also near to Newport sands beach. The cottage is spacious and well equipped. The owner is so responsive and helpful in her communications. The cottage is well located to go exploring from by car. We recommend this property as an excellent base for a family holiday!

Stunning Antique accommodation

My family enjoyed very much in this house. Ann provided all things you need and also welcome basket. The decoration is extremely stunning with all antiques around you. If you like vintage style, you should love this house. Also the view is beautiful, it is good place to view the sunset. It has a big rear and back garden. Highly,recommended.

Change of Pace

We wanted somewhere to relax and explore parts of Pembrokeshire we normally don’t get to. Also wanted somewhere that would slow the kids down to enjoy some time as a family. This place is perfect for that. The house itself promotes the simple things and encourages reading and games. All the things a modern family craves.the owners family love for the place is evident throughout in small but unmissable detail. Thank you Ann and family for sharing this beautiful house.

A lovely short break/honeymoon

The cottage was exceptionally cozy and immaculate . There was a wonderful welcome package left for us , the bed was very comfortable and we loved the peace and quiet . The kitchen was very well equipped and the garden was a huge boon for our two dogs. I really could recommend this cottage more it was everything we needed after a tough start to the year . One word of caution the water pressure in the shower was a little low for hair washing (not a problem it's why god invented jugs ). Also I tried to hoover but couldn't figure it out but that's my failing not anyone else's ! A wonderful cottage !!

Hidden Gem

We have just had a wonderful short stay at Ty-Newydd. An absolutely beautiful cottage full of character. Ann the host is always only a message away for helpful support. The cottage is clean and stocked with helpful items that we forgot, like dog towels and salt and pepper! A lovely generous welcome gift awaited us and we walked in, in february to the heating on giving us a warm welcome. It truly is a home from home. An indepth information folder gave us all the info we couod ever need on the local area. We will be back as soon as we are able. Highly advise the roast at The Golden Lion it was out of this world! Thank you for creating some wonderful memories for me and my children.

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

My parents bought Ty-Newydd when it was a tumble down wreck in the 1970’s and had it restored. Fortunately when I brought my husband down here he fell in love with the cottage and the surrounding area too. We have spent most of our holidays here and found it so easy and relaxing with children and dogs. Our sons spent many happy hours building dams on the beach, boogie boarding (with wet suits) in the sea and mucking about in the garden and now they are older still enjoy coming here at every opportunity. We spend our time tidying up the garden and walking on the beach, enjoying the tranquillity of an early morning walk or a glorious sunset. As a keen astronomer my husband enjoys the clarity of the night sky.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

The cottage is cosy and welcoming in winter after long walks with its’ log burner and because of the thick stone walls is cool on hot summer days. Over the years we have filled it with collectables and personal touches and hope that people feel at home here.
