Large log House with beautiful views of Greek Peak ski resort. Located 5 miles from Cortland, 15 miles from Ithaca, 35 miles from Syracuse. Finger Lakes wine trails and many State Parks are within easy driving distance. House is located on 5 1/2 acres of land. Large deck and patio area in front provide views of the mountain. During winter skiing shuttle bus service to the resort is available from the House.

Beautiful home! We celebrated Thanksgiving in this house, the enormous kitchen made preparing and cooking the meal so enjoyable. First floor game room was perfect for the kids to disappear to. Everything we needed, this property had! We will be back!

Baseball Tourney Fun

Excellent house with amazing views. Don’t think it’s right to charge a cleaning fee and the VRBO fees when we are required to do all of the cleaning as well as wash and fold the sheets.Otherwise would 100% use this location and property again of we were to come back.

We rented the house for a baseball tournament in Cortland NY. The house was great! Beautifulo action. There are outdoor activities are right down the street for the kids. We had great meals in Ithaca and Cortland.

A few families got together and rented this house. It worked perfectly for us and we had an amazing time! The owner was very friendly and easy to communicate with!

Cornell University Graduation Weekend 2025

We stayed here for graduation weekend and while the home itself was clean and comfortable, there were some issues worth noting. Out of the 30 rentals I’ve stayed in, this was the only one that required guests to wash, dry, and fold all towels and linens before checkout—despite charging a cleaning fee.The washer and dryer are quite outdated and very slow, which meant I spent a good portion of our last day just doing laundry. It took away from what should’ve been a relaxing and celebratory weekend.What’s more concerning is that this laundry requirement wasn’t communicated until we received the rental agreement about a month before check-in. By that time, it was far too late to find alternative accommodations—especially since we had booked this property over a year in advance.While the property itself is nice, this aspect of the experience felt unfair and should absolutely be reconsidered for future guests. A cleaning fee should cover basic turnover tasks like laundry—especially when guests are already expected to leave the home in good condition.

Wonderful weekend

House was beautiful and a great use of space. We had wedding to go to and it housed our family well. Scott and cindy are very reaponsive and wonderful hosts.

Great option for family gatherings

This was a great option for our family, bringing together 3 generations. The layout was great, and worked well to have a "bunk room" for teen - college age cousins, with private bedrooms otherwise. The kitchen was in fact fully stocked, which was great because we did prepare meals for the group. The game room was a hit as well. We opted to bring linens because we thought it might be challenging to do that much laundry as we were trying to gather up. Greek Peak wasn't opened quite yet when we were here, but it certainly would have been really easy to ski there from this house (very close).

Annual three family weekend

This is our second year renting this house as a group. The house is so comfortable for our three families- There are fun places for the teens to hang, places for adults to hang and great quiet bedrooms with comfortable beds. The kitchen is fully outfitted with all items needed to make big family meals and have wonderful times together. We didn't use the hot tub, fireplaces or fire pit this year, but did last and loved them. It makes us want to stay longer next year. Thank you for sharing the house with us! We hope you'll host us next year!

Huge place able to accommodate a very large group

We really enjoyed our stay here. The host was accommodating and great with communication. It had everything we needed and plenty of space. It was clean and large. We would stay here again!

July weekend

We had a great time. Just be prepared if a large group laundry will take way longer then expected for check out. We had a great time sitting outside with a fire and talking! Its a beautiful home and recommend it to others! Thank you so much!

We called it the Xmas house

We used Scott’s house for 8 adults to attend my son’s graduation. Scott was awesome with communication from the time I booked the property. All the Xmas decorations gave it a homey feeling. The house is beautifully located right across Greek Peak Resort and through the majestic windows the view of the mountains are beautiful. We even had the opportunity to witness a thunder storm and some white clouds hanging out on the mountain. The gardens are well maintained. We hosted a graduation party with three other families and the plan had been to sit outdoors in the spacious spaces outdoors with the firepit. And we were able to quickly change plans with the rains to hosting indoors in their bar and hangout space. The graduates enjoyed being together. We all cherished the time together in the home. Thank you to the Johnsons.

Great views

The house was perfect for my extended family attending my niece's graduation from Cortland. The house was very comfortable and had many amenities. The owner was very communicative and a pleasure to deal with. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful home in perfect spot with amazing views!

We stayed at Scott’s home over Christmas and it was just what we were looking for! Scott was so nice to work with and very flexible. Plenty of space for our family and we all loved the ping pong and pool tables. The view of the slopes was wonderful! The home is decorated so nicely for Christmas as well. Only cons were the lack of workspace lighting in the kitchen, and the cleaning/laundry process could be better. (I have never stayed in a VRBO where you had to do the laundry and vacuum/mop at the end of the stay). However, it would definitely not keep me from renting this lovely home again! Scott is a wonderful host!

Spacious, stocked home, with incredible views.

This home allowed the 9 of us to spread out, and the layout is great. Early risers in the kitchen could not be heard from the bedrooms so others slept in which is especially nice when you have teens! The view from the patio, the deck, the living room, and one of the bedrooms was great. The hot tub was very clean and situated perfectly, undercover, but on the patio so you could enjoy the bonfire and views at the same time. The cleaning crew hasn't done a thorough job in a while. Some of the appliances need a good scrub down. The level of crud on the toaster oven, and other appliances was pretty thick, so we needed to clean before cooking (we cooked every day). The dishes and utensils were all clean though. One of the bathrooms had been cleaned, but the other two obviously weren't cleaned. Overall, the pros outweighed the cleanliness issue. Being walking distance from Hope Lake Lodge is great! I would definitely want to know that it had been cleaned by a better cleaning service before arrival.

Bachlorette Weekend

We had an amazing time at this property. From walking in, reading through the rules, the suggestions for places in town, and contacting the property manager was nothing but amazing. We had an issue with our stove and popping breakers, and the manger always responded quickly and replaced the stove that night. This house is beautiful, the decorations were great, the house was so clean, it was accommodating for everyone! The views were amazing, and the morning runs with those hills were hard! Cannot recommend this property enough!

Definitely worth it

Very nice rental with great views and everyondle had a good time. The kitchen needs a bit more over-head lighting, as the under-cabinet lights didn't quite get the job done in conjunction with the minimal over-head stained glass lights. Otherwise, top marks all around.

Great place to gather

We stayed at the property for a family summer vacation. We had 7 kids ages 2-14 and they had so much fun. There was plenty of space for the kids and the adults. The property was clean and well maintained. Plenty of beds, kitchen equipment, cleaning supplies etc. Scott was available and in contact in case we needed anything. Overall we had a great experience. We stayed during the summer so I’m sure it’s quite different than the winter-but I would imagine it would be a great place to stay if you wanted to ski.

House was built in 2005. The Finger Lakes region is one of the most attractive areas in NY State. Lakes, skiing, golfing, dining, wine tours, etc make this area an ideal year round location to visit.

We built this home because the area has many activities to experience year round. The views of the mountain from our house and patio are fantastic .
