Hi Michelle, you had a fob to close the driveway gate in the house which is clearly outlined in the booklet provided. The properties are semi-detached and have their own entrances and our previous guests have enjoyed the garden and decked area reserved for them. I would have been happy to have you use the driveway if you would have preferred that to the parking area across the road or to help you with any other issues or concerns you had during your stay if you had raised them with me. I hope you enjoyed other aspects of your stay. Gary

Thank you for your review and we are, of course, very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay. We accept that on occasions the property will not meet everyone's expectations or indeed that some things may go wrong. Thankfully, as evidenced by our reviews, such occasions are rare but we will always accept feedback or criticism with grace and do what we can to rectify the situation with the guests. On this occasion however, we regret to say that we feel your criticism is completely unjustified. Firstly, it was explained that we are awaiting a part to repair the automatic driveway gate and that it was in manual mode, which allowed you to easily slide it back and forth across the driveway. Secondly, the property is exactly as described on the website and backed up with photographs which show that it is connected to our property. Our household is not in any way noisy but I accept that you will occasionally hear our dogs or other "goings on" through the wall, as a matter of fact we also heard your dog, a dog which you did not declare on your booking. Despite this we decided, out of kindness and generosity, not to disturb your holiday by asking you pay the required surcharge for extra cleaning for pets. Thirdly, both houses share the same plot of land and driveway and therefore it is entirely predictable that we may at times see each other in the same space; generally we find that this gives us an opportunity for friendly interaction with our guests which we very much enjoy and is part of the home holiday letting experience. We do however try to keep this to a minimum to respect our guests' privacy. During your two week stay, our paths crossed once, when we had to take the bins out, I sincerely apologise if this disturbed you. Lastly, despite all the opportunities open to you, either online or in person, you never raised any of these issues during your stay to give us the chance to either explain, rectify or compensate you. I have never, in 6 years of renting out our property, required to write a response like this to a review and do so very reluctantly, however I felt it necessary in order to ensure prospective guests were aware of the facts to counter the inaccurate representation you have provided here.

Hi Helmut, thank you for your review. I have passed your comments onto our cleaning company. You should not have experienced any dirty crockery or surfaces and I sincerely apologise for that. We pride ourselves on the level of cleanliness we provide for our guests so this is very disappointing to hear. The boiler very occasionally loses pressure and is fixed by the turn of a tap but I suppose you were leaving so elected not to pass that on to me. Apologies again for the issues you experienced but thank you for your constructive comments.
