The Space:

You'll love the stunning views of the beach and bay from this lovely beachfront home. Bonita Vista features a huge mezzanine party deck to relax or entertain with a breeze and plenty of shade, in addition to an upper level wraparound deck. Enjoy both the sunrise and sunset from this home located in a quieter part of the Bolivar Peninsula. You are just steps from the beach to enjoy the sun, shell hunting, or fishing!



The great room offers comfortable furniture, separate dining table, and island seating. You will also love the well-stocked kitchen with all the appliances and cookware you will need (including a regular drip coffee maker). There is also a washer and dryer for your convenience!



Bonita Vista offers three bedrooms plus a roomy loft, 2 bathrooms, and an outdoor shower. Bedrooms one and two have one queen bed in each. The third bedroom has two full size beds. The loft utilizes traditional stairs, and features 5 twin beds - it is a great separate space for the kids to sleep and hang out! All bedrooms and the loft have televisions with DirecTV.



There is no internet available, so you will need to bring a ā€œhot spotā€ if Wifi is a must-have, but it's a great location for spending time together with family and disconnecting from the world.

With room for everyone inside and out, we know you will love your vacation at Bonita Vista!



Small dogs (under 35 pounds) are welcome with a fee. Cargo lift is not available for guest use. All Swedes Real Estate vacation rentals are non-smoking properties. Swedes does not rent to guests under 25 years of age.

The homeowner does not provide linens and towels, but, if you choose, they are available upon request from our linen service (additional fee applies).

Even though there are some upgrades that need to be dome ( it is for sale though) we had a very good time. The house was located right on the beach and was clean and quiet. Wish it had WiFi but other than that, five stars!!!

Perfect Location!

We really enjoyed our stay here! There is a whole second deck I wish we were prepared to use. The kids enjoyed the loft space upstairs. You cannot beat the beach access and location. We were able to grab food, get souvenirs and hit the candy shop all within a quick drive. Not a modern vibe, very homey and dated but we didn't mind that. If you want to be right at the beach for a good value, this is a great option.

To access the house you have to drive over 8 miles away to get key and return the key. They do not provide paper towels or toilet paper. House was super dirty and had an awful smell. They did send someone over to try and clean that helped a little with the smell. Had to buy candles and room spray to be inside. Mattress covers, pillows, and comforters were stained and almost unusable. Spent half the time there washing the blankets. Charge of 125 plus tax for linens and towels! Not even a kitchen or bathroom hand towel provided.

They have the most unbelievable views, and the staff at Swedes was great as always. The owner double booked so that was awkward when a family showed up and told us we needed to leave. Swedes handled everything though. I was a little nervous knowing that other people had the key to a house we were staying in for days though. The house needs a very deep cleaning. My grandson was covered in white hairs the entire trip. The furniture feels dirty, in fact my son broke out in hives when he sat on it. The footstools are hard to open and then will just pop open unexpectedly too. We covered all of the furniture with sheets so we could sit on them, the white sheets came up brown when uncovering them.The flooring is borderline dangerous for babyā€™s/toddlers because there are big gaps in it.The vacuum does not hardly work, and the air vents drip water onto the couch. The house needs a major update.I really loved the location and just wish the house didnā€™t feel so dirty. When you spend the kind of money you spend on these rentals you expect a clean house and floors that are not separating at the very least. Do not rent if you have a young child or you need a comfortable bed to sleep. All beds are extremely uncomfortable. There are also mouse traps under the beds and we found mouse poop on the stair to the loft.Also if you want deck gates donā€™t rent this place. Even though the pictures show them the top one does not latch and the second deck does not have one at all. I will not rent this house ever again, sucks since the location and views are so great. I really feel I deserve a partial refund for this house because it was not worth what we paid at all since you could not relax inside.

The home does need some serious TLC.. a deep clean, there was a strong smell of mold in the master bedroom.. we could not use it.. but overall we were happy and would stay again.

But there was also pet food on the floors, dead roaches, cigarette ashes in one of the rooms, live roaches crawling on the walls, and mold upstairs. And also the coffee maker was dirty and rusted. And they had flooring piled up by the front door. But it was a beautiful view. Will not be staying there again.

The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because the refrigerator was not cold at all and needs to be replaced and the ac struggles to get cold. It took a long time to cool down. I set it at 73 and stayed at 77 until 3am did it get to 73. I know because I couldn't sleep it was to hot. It also has a lot of clutter, things little ones get into. We enjoyed our time there as a family but will not be renting this cabin again. I don't usually write reviews but people need to be aware especially because it cost me a bit of money to rent it.

It has several loose boards on the steps. The AC is bi-polar. The kitchen is poorly stocked with pots and pans, mixing bowls, etc. The coffee pot, well lets just say it needs to be retired or buried. We went to our RV down the road and brought our own for the weekend. The grass wasn't mowed before we arrived, good thing we had teenagers and not small children. The driveway has a large washout. Overall, it's a one start rating at best.

Reviewer Comments: The home is very dirty including dishes and appliances, bedding, carpet, pet hair embedded throughout very old carpeting and furnishings. Seems owner occupied and not professionally cleaned. Not managed like a vacation rental but rather staying in someones home that hasnt been professionally cleaned. We have rented mumtiple times from Swedes and this is very subpar for a Swedes rental. The location and view are great.

Excellent location

The listing was 100% accurate. Positives - great beach location and absolutely loved the decks. The house was solid / cared for and everything worked. Negatives - I felt it could have been cleaned a little better - crumbs on the kitchen chairs, etc. especially with COVID. I also believe all comforters and pillows should be replaced and/or washed between guests - again especially with COVID. I sani-wiped every single surface down anyway. Had a slight smoke smell but it wasn't unbearable. Dishes are not in good shape as far as cookware so you might want to bring your own. There was old trash washed up under the house and in the yard from the hurricane. Would've been nice if this had been picked up prior to our arrival - we picked up as much as we could. Overall though, a great trip and we would stay again. Note to renters in the area - Please do not leave trash on the beaches! I spent 3 mornings picking up trash from the night before - diapers, beer bottles, water bottles. Signs should be put in place along the beach as a reminder to people "Don't Mess with Texas! Pick up your trash!" Or start fining people large sums of money. Just a suggestion.

Spacious Beach Front view

This beachfront house was the last minute weekend getaway for our family. 3 Bd (with an additional loft of 5 twins) 2Bath was able to give us plenty of space for adults and teens. It was nice to walk directly to beach for wading, fishing, etc. and back to the house for meals,etc. The beach was not overly crowded and the house did not have immediate neighboring houses so we had a little space compared to other places weā€™ve stayed at Bolivar. We did pay the extra fee for sheets and towels provided by a service. This place is also pet friendly so we were able to bring our 2 small dogs.

Perfect weekend getaway

We loved having everyone in the same house for the weekend, the loft area for the teenagers was perfect. The refrigerator needs to be replaced, but other than that, everything else was great. We will definitely stay here again in the future.
