Classic Carmel cottage with it's original charm and character welcomes you in as soon as you open the front door. Good sized, comfortable rooms, with natural light invite you in to relax and enjoy and your stay. There are many big windows and French doors that bring the outside in. Beautiful hardwood floors throughout this 1000 square foot house.
The living room and dining area are open to each other. The living room features a classic Carmel stone gas fireplace, an Italian leather sofa, 2 comfortable armchairs and an HD TV.
The dining room has all the charm of a storybook cottage. It is a step up and overlooks the living room. It also has a big picture window that looks out on the front stone patio and yard.
Both bedrooms have French doors onto the big back deck. One bedroom with a king bed and one bedroom with a queen bed. The king bedroom has an HD TV.
There are 2 Bathrooms, one with a stall shower and one with a bathtub/shower.
The spacious back deck is a place of peaceful beauty. Enjoy a glass of wine, cook your meals on the grill or just relax. Later in the evening you can often hear the waves crashing on the beach in the stillness of the night.
The house is located on a quiet residential street, with not a lot of traffic, yet still close enough to the village and beach to walk to. Thus offering tranquility and convenience. Front and back yards are fully fenced. Off street parking in the driveway for 2 cars tandem. Minimum 30 day stay, no exceptions.

Great Carmel Cottage

Dan and Wendy are excellent hosts. We have stayed in many VRBO properties but none matched the cleanliness of this-it was immaculate! Location is great for walking access to shopping/restaurants. Everything was wonderful!!

Wonderfully Quaint

This home was so warm and comfortable. My boyfriend and I settled in and enjoyed all 4 weeks. We enjoyed exploring the neighborhood and walking to stores and restaurants in Carmel. I highly recommend staying here.

Wonderful cottage, Perfect host

Charming little cottage close to the village, yet on a peaceful, quit, calm street. Wendy has created a beautiful, well appointed, comfortable and clean place to spend a month - or two. My wife and I have rented homes all over North America and Europe and this is easily one of our favorites. Looking forward to another stay.

Cozy Carmel Cottage ❤️

This sweet cottage was the perfect 'home away from home ' for our 6 week California escape. Comfortable, well appointed in a lovely relaxed environment, you can easily walk to the down town, or put your feet up in front of the great fireplace. The bedrooms located at the rear of the house provided a comfortable peaceful place to rest after a busy day. We look forward to staying here again... hopefully sooner vs later!

Carmel Storybook Stay

We had a memorable getaway in this storybook cottage, it’s exactly as described and pictured. Delighted by the owner’s thoughtful attention to detail, we appreciated everything Wendy provided to make our stay so very comfortable, especially during COVID. We relaxed on the beautiful deck listening to the birds by day and the sounds of crashing waves in the evening. The fireplace and light filled windows, quiet neighborhood in the ideal location was such a sweet setting for our escape to Carmel. We would love to revisit. Thanks again Wendy

Heaven on Earth

The house was your adorable Carmel cottage! We immediately felt comfortable and enjoyed every second of our month long stay. Walking to town and experiencing some great restaurants and walking home! Quiet friendly neighborhood. Really appreciated having the ability to have our furry kids with us also. Would love to return! Have to also say one of the cleanest places we have ever stayed! Thanks for having us!

Quiet Carmel getaway

We enjoyed our September here. We did not need much interaction with our hosts and the property was as described. Be sure you are ready to climb and descend many hills if you plan to access town regularly on foot, which we did. It is part of Carmel's charm, after all. Small, clean and cozy - a good fit for 2 or 3. We found a nice space on back patio for coffee in mornings. Kitchen again small but well equipped. Since we believe all rentals are monthly in Carmel, it could definitely use a smart tv, especially given the lack of programming available on their Direct TV (easy remedy). Perhaps a bathroom fan or even a small portable one for hallway (another easy one). We had access to a bike for the month but no protected place to store it so we got more walking in. We would return, especially if those very simple things were to happen.

A Sweet Spot in Northeast Carmel

This past April, we sold our home in a blink and without a Plan B. This cottage in Northeast Carmel caught our attention as a perfect place to recover and regroup. The house is charming, one of the quaint, older Carmel houses that has been nicely updated. It is compact, freshly painted, very clean, and Marie Kondo couldn't have organized it more efficiently. The kitchen has everything you need from cleaning supplies to food processor, all seem barely used, and there is no clutter. We found the bedrooms (and beds) very comfortable with good sized closets and plenty of dresser space. The two bathrooms are not ensuite but just a few steps away, and the deck off the two bedrooms is a lovely place to eat or have cocktails. What we especially appreciated about this rental was its dog friendliness. Also, the hosts were very accommodating when we needed to alter our dates after the fact. They really do care about the comfort of their guests and you see it in all the thoughtful details. We would definitely stay here again.

Neat cottage!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 30-night stay. The cottage was nicely furnished, the bed was comfy, the location was good and the overall experience was definitely worthy of 5 stars. Wendy and Dan were super hosts. The cottage is very nice. No complaints. We were extremely happy with our choice and our stay!!

Lovely Quiet Close to everything

I loved my stay at this property. It is in a very quiet neighborhood. Parking is scarce in Carmel, this property has ample off and on street parking. The house is very well stocked with everything you need. The host even provided full size bath amenity's. Everything was very organized in the kitchen and through out. I had short weekend visits from my Son while I stayed. He and his wife enjoyed walking to the beach through downtown Carmel and back. The two bed two bath set up with French Doors to the outside give the house a feeling you are in a large property. The Host is lovely. I would love to stay again next year if the property is available.

A perfect extended vacation

I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful home and owner. My adult daughter, my dog and I stayed for 2.5 months during COVID restrictions, with my husband visiting on weekends. We ALL loved it. We walked every morning, we tried MANY of the local restaurants, we BBQ'd on the back deck, we worked remotely, and I rented a bike from the local shop and I rode out and played tennis at the Pebble Beach & Tennis Club every other day or so. The house is well appointed with every item, utensil, cleaning product and everything we could have needed/wanted. I would definitely recommend this home. Thank you, Miss W! Jerri

Fabulous Cottage with Carmel Charm

This cottage was perfect - immaculate and very nicely decorated, with absolutely everything needed for a longer term stay. In a very lovely and friendly neighborhood, close to everything, yet quiet and peaceful. Owner is very nice and attentive. I highly recommend this cottage!

Lovely cottage

We loved this place. The bed in the master was perfect and the fireplace took the chill out of the early morning air. Very comfortable cottage. Wendy and Dan we responsive to a request when we arrived and wonderful to rent from. The only thing I would recommend to bring if you are a cook, is any spices you cant live without. There was salt and pepper. We loved thid cottage and would definately stay again!

A+++ stay at Carmel Cottage!

I would love to stay here again next time we travel to Carmel! This adorable cottage has been thoughtfully furnished and well supplied to make one feel right at home. I was impressed with the kitchen -complete with everything we needed, with pretty bed linens and comfortable beds, quality bath towels, and tasteful furnishings just right for a cottage in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Wendy communicates well and responded promptly to any questions. We walked everywhere and also took some fun trips to Big Sur, Carmel Valley, and more. The gas fireplace was delightful on cool nights. Highly recommend!

Captivating cottage in downtown Carmel by the Sea!

This darling home had us at “hello!” Enchanting exterior complete with seaside picket fence. Meticulously updated inside - so fresh! Thoughtful details at every turn - from the well stocked kitchen, to the bedside trays and sumptious linens. The layout was perfect for us- such a bonus to have the two full baths- and they are all NEW baths (unlike several other rentals we stayed in) Unpacking was a breeze with spacious closets, loads of hangers and dresser space. (No closets were locked for owner storage - there was so much room!) The cottage was bright and sunny with south facing windows to take in light. After sunset there was great lighting and the gorgeous stone, gas fireplace made for cozy evenings when not out and about in town! The dining area was a great place for playing cards and opened to the living room fully. In the morning coffee on the deck overlooking the trees. Just a stretch of the legs walk to town, and Brunos market. A very quiet street nestled in the Comstock Cottage neighborhood. Convenient park just three blocks away for daily dog walks. Friendly neighbors who waved hello. The perfect place to stay! The owners were a delight and very responsive to any questions we had. Fresh and fabulous ~ Absolutely would stay again!

We stayed for two months Feb. & March of 2018 and loved every minute of it

The cottage was everything it was billed to be. Great location, close to everything yet quiet and cozy. The owner provides up scaled amenities for a rental. We had all we needed for the two months. Kitchen, laundry, and bedrooms were all well stocked. On cooler evenings the fireplace lent a cozy atmosphere to the evening , and we did find the beds very comfortable. The owner Wendy, was very pleasant and helpful to work with. We would highly recommend this quaint cottage. Carmel By The Sea is special.

This cottage is a real find!

We spent 3 months at this exceptional cottage in Carmel, located in a quiet friendly neighborhood, which is a short walk to the town and handy local grocery store. The cottage is extremely well organized, immaculate, with fresh new towels and linens and all the amenities one needs to relax. The French doors open to the deck where one can hear the ocean waves in the evening while sipping wine. Our two pugs felt right at home and enjoyed the local park 2 blocks away and the beautiful unleashed dog beach. We have spent 4 summers in Carmel to escape the heat in AZ and this lovely cottage exceeds with comfort, cleanliness and charm. The owner provided excellent customer service and we highly recommend this cottage.

Beautiful Fairytale Cottage close to Downtown

We loved this great cottage, a quick walk to downtown. We stayed a month and immensely enjoyed the beautiful scenery and the fairytale cottage in Carmel. The fireplace in the living room was great to have a cup of tea and watch the fire. We also enjoyed how nice everything was in the kitchen. Appliances, cutlery, and silverware was brand new! It was incredibly quiet and parking in the driveway was easy. We also loved the deck off the bedrooms. We grilled on the deck and had nice evenings watching the sunset in Carmel. We enjoyed the quick walk to downtown and the proximity to the beach. We would definitely stay at this house again. It was perfect!
