This house is a great option for families coming to town for Virginia Tech or Radford University commencement every May and/or for alumni and others coming to enjoy Virginia Tech home football games every fall!

The house sits at the top of a hill with amazing views. Farmland and cow pastures surround you. There are 15 acres to enjoy, including mostly wooded areas, as well as a large cleared field ideal for gatherings, evenings around the fire pit, or just sitting and watching the sunset.

You will feel like you are in a mountain retreat far away from the hustle and bustle, yet you are less than five minutes from the convenience of the New River Valley Mall; stores like Walmart, Target, Lowes, Home Depot, Dick's Sporting Goods, and more; the New River Valley movie theater; restaurants like Texas Road House, Red Robin, Five Guys, and more. And you are only about 15 minutes from cozy and quaint downtown Blacksburg with tons more restaurants, shops, and, of course, Virginia Tech!

The house features the following:

- Sleeps 9 with 4 bedrooms/3 bathrooms: large master suite with king bed, walk-in closet, en suite bath with garden tub and shower on the walk-out lower level; large bedroom with three twin beds and en suite bath/shower combo on main level; two bedrooms on upper level (one with two twin beds and the other with a queen bed) with a jack-and-jill bathroom with shower between the bedrooms.

Perfect Game Day Weekend Home

The property is an easy drive from campus. The home is beautiful withplenty of space. We enjoyed the gorgeous view and beautiful well stocked firepit. The extra little touches like a welcome basket of snacks and travel sizes toiletries was so thoughtful!

Fantastic home to celebrate with family

We celebrated an amazing graduation weekend and staying at this home made it so much better. The owner, David, has thought of everything to make a visit at his home easy, convenient and comfortable. We have stayed at many VRBOs and this one by far was the best equipped and stocked with everything we needed. There was a welcome gift upon arrival. The kitchen was supplied with all the sundry items like paper towels, trash bags, spices, dish soap, dishwasher detergent and many more items. All we had to get was the food and drink we needed. The wonderful fire pit had kindling, fire starter, lighter and all the wood we needed. It made for a great evening around the fire. The home is on a beautiful piece of property that is very private, but close to shopping and restaurants. We had a nice adventure following the path around the property through the woods. The gas grill was great. The only issue was a slow internet when trying to stream sports and work on laptops, but not that big an issue. Beds very comfortable, all linens and towels provided along with bathroom items like toothpaste, shampoo and body wash. The owner was fantastic to work with and had a very thorough welcome letter with all the instructions we needed for everything in the house. I would highly recommend this home for any event at VT or Radford like football games, parent weekends or graduation. It is just perfect and we will definitely plan to visit again.

Fantastic Experience from Start to Finish

This property is a perfect relaxing getaway. The home and all the amenities are top notch and the property owner could not have been better with communication via text message, phone, and e-mail. Three families fit comfortably and we can't wait to book with the homeowner again. This property is quiet and comfortable, yet just a couple of miles from local access roads and highway to a number of fun destinations. Kudos to the owner and their family for the way they keep the property in such great shape and make it feel so welcoming!!

Great getaway for VT visit

We had a great stay for VT family weekend! Close to everything but still out in nature with plenty of room to be outside and appreciate the beauty. Everything we needed was provided and excellent communication with host.

Great for a large gathering!

This is a great house for a large group of people. Nice kitchen, large dining room, nice deck. House has amazing views! The only note is I booked this a year and a half before graduation and don't plan on having more than 13 people if you are having an event.

Wonderful visit to Blacksburg and Christiansburg

We booked this property rather than multiple hotel rooms for a visit to my daughter at VT and a football game. Communication with the host was excellent - responsive and thorough answering questions. The property itself was clean, organized and welcoming plus an amazing view! We used the fire pit both nights we were there. It was a lovely stay and we would definitely look to stay their again.

VT Graduation destination

2019 VT Boys Trip

A total of 9 50+ year old VT fraternity brothers came back for a football game and we had a great stay and a wonderful experience. David had the place clean ready to go when we arrived and he was was very helpful and accommodating. He met us at the property and gave us a quick tour to get us acclimated. We all discussed making this an annual trip and will definitely stay here again. Thank for a great experience and we loved your property.

The perfect place to stay with a large or multiple families. The fire pit and dining room are great!

Property is extremely well maintained, clean, and organized thoughtfully for visiting families. David met us at the property to show and explain, which was very helpful. Having wood and kindling available for the fire pit was a great touch. We loved the house and will come right back the next opportunity we have.

Beautiful home = wonderful stay

The Hilltop House is a beautiful home on a wonderful area of land. It was perfect for hosting out-town family for our daughter's graduation from Va Tech. With good weather and not-so-good weather, we enjoyed celebrating good conversation and good food sitting on the deck, around the long kitchen table, and out by the fire pit. David was a wonderful, conscientious and very thoughtful host who saw to all our needs. We would highly recommend this home to anyone wanting a comfortable stay in a beautiful setting.

Quiet Getaway

Our golf group thoroughly enjoyed staying in this house! The kitchen was perfect for cooking breakfast. The layout, pots and pans, everything was convenient and well supplied. We could all sit together in the dining room and enjoy eating together. Eight men could shower and sleep without getting in each others way. We relaxed in the large living room, on the deck enjoying the view. The house was clean and the host provided little extras like flowers on the table, paper plates, napkins, wood for a camp fire, many small thoughtful touches. One person complained there was no TV, but WIFI worked well and we could enjoy each others company without too much noise. Our group will certainly visit again!

Wonderful Graduation Weekend

The house was perfect for our family gathering for our son's college graduation. Very spacious, clean and gorgeous view! I would definitely come again and recommend anyone to stay here. The homeowner was extremely nice and met us to show us around when we arrived.

This is a fantastic home! We had a wonderful time enjoying the beautiful views and luxury.

I highly recommend this home for any football weekends, graduations, or reunions. The home owners were extremely accommodating and helpful. The house was very clean and welcoming. We will definitely stay here in the future.

The perfect home for our family.

From the very start the owner, David, was a pleasure to work with. He was very quick to reply to my inquiry and made it a seamless experience till the very end. My large family (14ppl) were coming from NY/NJ for our sisters graduation from Virigina Tech and the house couldn't be any more perfect for our stay. The house was plenty big which made it very comfortable, not to mention unbelievably spotless! David created a very detailed list for us in case we had any questions upon our arrival and also was easily accessible via call or text if we needed anything at all. The property is so beautiful and was conveniently located for our needs. If we ever have to come back to this area, we would without a doubt stay here again. This was my first experience renting a home and it truly exceeded my expectations. Thank you, David!

We are a family of seven that loves the mountains and loves being outdoors. We are always outside gardening, working in the yard, playing in the woods, playing sports in the open field, riding bikes, sitting around the fire pit, looking for wildlife, and otherwise enjoying our 15 acres.

Before moving to the Blacksburg/Christiansburg area of VA, we have lived in many different places. Our favorite was the four years we were in Denver, Colorado. We have also lived in Baltimore, Maryland, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Burlington, Vermont to name a few.

This is our home, not just a rental property, so we take pride in making it as comfortable and homey as possible for you, and we appreciate you taking great care of it. We wanted to open it up, particularly to Virginia Tech (and Radford University) families for commencement in spring and fall and for Virginia Tech alumni and fans for football games.
