Charming Carriage House w private Garage Parking! Steps to River Street!

The Washington Square Carriage House is a free standing apartment built over our garage, with a private entrance on the lane/alley. It is located behind The Washington Square Main House and guests share the center/private courtyard & garage.

During the horse-and-buggy days, Savannah’s carriage houses were the sleeping quarters of the family's carriage drivers. The drivers were responsible for the care of the horses & the carriages housed in what we now use as auto-garages.

This painstakingly restored & converted carriage house offers one highly coveted garage parking space and is located in Savannah’s Landmark Historic District on picturesque Washington Square. This home is only 2 blocks from Historic River Street & the Savannah River.

The apartment is located on the 2nd floor over the garage so there is a flight of stairs leading up to the home. The carriage house has an open living room and kitchen with island seating for 4.
The fully outfitted kitchen is equipped with all the essentials to whip up a meal.

Each of the 2 bedrooms have en suite bathrooms & queen size beds. The walled courtyard offers a quite oasis to sip a cocktail and chat with guests from the main house.

NOTES
*Minimum age to reserve is 25 years of age, no exceptions!

*MAXIMUM OCCUPANY is 4 people at any/all times, including children/infants.

*NOISE: This property is NOT PARTY friendly. We do not allow loud noise, loud music, public drunkenness, or parties of any sort.

NO BACHELORETTE/BACHELOR GROUPS! NO PARTIES OR EVENTS!

This is a family oriented neighborhood with year-round tenants. Violators may be evicted and/or fined. The City of Savannah Noise Ordinance requires strict observance of QUIET TIME between 10 pm and 8 am. Savannah Police and the neighborhood strictly enforce this. The individual violators can be fined and/or EVICTED.

*TVs: We provide free WIFI but NO cable, so please bring your login info for your favorite apps! All TVs are new and updated with current apps.

*PARKING: This reservation includes ONE private, garage parking space under the apartment.
Parking for additional vehicles: All of downtown has metered, on-street parking. The City of Savannah uses Meter Pay Stations on each block.
You can download the APP "ParkSavannah" to pay meters from your phone
OR
Visitor Parking Passes are available for 24hours/$15.00 and 48hours/$24.00. Passes can be purchased at the City of Savannah Parking Services Office.

Super adorable carriage house in the historic district, minutes from evweything we wanted to see ans do, woth parking. The beds were a bit hard ans lught coming in from the street mase it diffucult to sleep in my room vecause im sensitive. The carriage house was very clean with nice facilities and a beautidul courtyard! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Impeccably clean and well furnished. Well-lit and safe feeling alley outside. Dedicated and attached garage parking space is a big plus in an area where parking is at a premium. Everything in downtown is within pretty much a one-to-fifteen-minute walk.

We absolutely loved our stay! The property was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The location couldn’t have been better — it was perfect for walking to everything we wanted to do. It made for the perfect weekend getaway, and we’d definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay here in the carriage house. It was great having the garage for the car so we didn’t have to worry about parking in town. The location is wonderful. It’s very close to the river shops and all the parks and restaurants throughout the historical downtown area. The home was very clean and comfortable. The host responded quickly to our messages. We would definitely stay here again.

The place was ok. The location amazing (walking distance of a lot of things).The communication with host was not ideal. They didnt respond to me within 24 hours of booking when I had a question about charging my EV. They responded after 24 hours saying there is no charging on premises. It was too late for me to cancel the booking without a penalty. They actually has a dryer outlet in the garage that I could have used for charging. They didnt mention that even when I specifically asked for it when I booked.The clicker for the right side of the garage didnt work. Reported it when I checked in. They didnt fix it for the 3 day duration we stayed there. Also parking on the right side was a thorn in the side if a car was parked on the other side of the alley in an external parking lot. I was told not to park on the left side of the garage for which the clicker was working. The TV was not working. I found a couple of small roaches in one of the bathrooms.

Mother/Daughter Annual Getaway

Everything we’d hoped for was accommodated in this perfect place: garage to stow our bicycles, location central to Old Town, the River, memorials, historic homes and cathedrals, restaurants, and easy access by car to Tybee, the Cemetary, and the botanical gardens. Our checklist was satisfied in 4 memorable days!

The apartment has everything you might need. The area is quiet and within walking distance to many restaurants and to the River Walk. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly!!

OK Unit, Amazing Location, Free Parking

We visit Savannah several times a year. This was our first stay in this unit. It was okay...relatively clean, very well-located, basics provided. Nothing special other than the amazing location and the fact it does include parking in your own garage. For the price they charged, it needs a bit of a glow-up. Our granddaughter said it smells of rose potpourri and death; however, as an adult, I realize that it is old, so they get a pass on this. Just be aware, if you're sensitive to smells, this might be a trigger. The biggest issue was that the hot water runs out after one shower. Regarding the garage, it has a two car garage. The carriage house gets the right side, the big house gets the left side. They leave a remote. Our remote opened the left side, but not the right. To enter, one of us had to jump out, run through the left side, and use the wall unit to open the right side. When leaving, we had to do essentially the same thing in reverse. Not that big of a deal, just a nuisance. I called the property management to report it, thinking they may have gotten the two remotes switched, but they said they did not, and that ours should work. We did meet the people with the other remote, and theirs wouldn't open the right hand side, either, so I am assuming there is something with it that needs to be fixed or programmed. Not sure I would stay here again, mostly because there are other nearby rentals that are spruced up a bit more, and are a better value.

Clean place right in a quiet neighborhood. Check-in was straightforward and is a 5 minute walk from everything in the North Historical District.

First time to Savannah

Perfect location with in walking distance to everything. Had a lovely dinner at Cha Bella the first night that was just steps from our door. Comfy beds, and the host was very helpful.

This apartment was beyond our expectations! The historical feeling while feeling like I was at home, was amazing. The location was great- close to the river walk. I will stay here again and again! Looking forward to planning my next trip here!

Great location to walk and explore Savannah

Very comfortable beds. After we figured out the lane/alley vs street and you enter carriage house from lane we were good to go. Walked to all our tours downtown, exploring, and dinner and it was easy to navigate. Great shower with great water pressure and hot temperatures. Quiet setting. Nice to have garage for vehicle.

Cozy and cute

Clean, great communication with host and great for two friends checking out Savannah. We walked everywhere and its location worked wonderfully. The only issue was the garage door is loud and the group staying in the main house left early and woke us. They had breakfast in the courtyard that woke us as well. We met them and they were lovely people. If you’re planning to sleep in you may want to rethink this place. Also, it took us a bit to find it. A friendly neighbor had to help us and that added to the pleasure of the visit. We had a fun time. This place worked pretty well for us.

Perfect location

This property is great for two couples as each couple has their own bath attached to their bedroom. The location is perfect! Has garage parking for one car which is a plus in Savannah. Parked and was able to walk to river where the action is. This property is in historic district. It was once the carriage house. Enjoyed our stay!
