Relax in our comfortable cottage and enjoy the beautiful beach and glacial lake

2 bedroom cottage with a large family room on beautiful Halfmoon Lake (5 miles south of the Alton traffic circle, 10 minutes to Lake Winnepsauke and lots of Lakes Region activities.) It is a short walk on our private property from the cottage to the beautiful white sand beach. The crystal clear water is inviting, and the water depth increases very slowly, perfect for young children. In season there is usually a large raft in deeper water of swimming area for jumping and diving. Free use of kayaks, canoe, rowboat and paddle boat. Guests may bring their own boat. Great fishing. Main room has Smart TV for watching your streaming accounts. WiFi for entire cottage. Fully stocked modern kitchen includes a microwave, toaster oven, Keurig coffeemaker. The cottage has it's own outdoor picnic area with a propane grill, picnic table, Adirondack chairs and hammock. There is also a community picnic area, and a dock. The cottage sleeps 6, sorry no pets. Great location to enjoy fall leaf peeping in September through mid October. Check our calendar and send me an inquiry. We would love to have you discover what we call our "little piece of heaven".
Please note: Our cottage is a house keeping cottage. We provide the supplies renters will need to clean the cottage during their stay.

Like Beach Camp When I was a Kid

Very clean and cute. The cabin was built in an era where people expected a bit of "roughing it" when they were out the lake. The septic is not set up for long, hot showers or half a dozen people flushing all day long. Also, you are expected to clean up after yourself. If you can live with that, the beach is lovely and the other residents are mostly very friendly. (I did have one person explain to me that I was at "her" table, which was for cabins not rented out, while literally every single other table on the beach was empty.) The kayaks are perfect for the kids to play on and the sand is suitable for building. The stove and oven are full-sized and there are plenty of dishes. You can make regular coffee or K cup. We definitely hope to go again in the spring.

Weekend getaway

We spent a beautiful weekend unplugged by the lake! Cabin was clean and comfy, well stocked, and just a quick walk to water. Owner was super quick to reply and gave us directions to launch our boat which by the way, was perfect Todd. Thanks

Great Cabin by the Lake

Enjoyed our stay at Halfmoon Lake.! Temps hit 90s but the cabin was cool and comfortable in the shade and with the fans going. WiFi was excellent which was important because I had to work and take video calls. As noted in other reviews, Bathroom/ shower a bit rustic but everything worked fine. Cabin well appointed with everything we needed and kids loved the hammock. But most importantly the Lake! So great, so close, loved being able to take a dip whenever I felt like it!

Forget About Life for a While

We had the most wonderful time at the cabin. It was so clean and inviting. So many amenities.....dinnerware, cookware, utensils, BBQ grill, picnic table and even chairs and table on the beach. The lake is so clean and refreshing. Definitely would go back again....5 stars!

Clogged shower drain (YUCK)

We were unable to shower due to a completely clogged shower drain. We didn't dare try and determine what was causing the backup. Other than this 1 untenable issue the cottage was reasonably clean and located in a family friendly little lake community with good swimming and other recreational opportunities.

Perfect family time

We enjoyed swimming in the clean lake and the cottage was comfortable. The area was quiet and loved having a grocery store near by. Would love to stay there again.

Just what we needed

Great little cabin in the woods with everything that we need to enjoy our stay. Short walk to a very clean beach, set up with tables and chairs, hidden gem for sure! Only thing is the beds are not very comfy some new mattresses could make it perfect!

Beautiful setting, clean tidy rustic lodging

Property was as described. Clean, tidy well taken care of with beautiful surroundings. It would have been nice to know before we got there that the septic was old and that we shouldn't flush very often, and had to take short showers. The bathroom was between the two bedrooms and not very private. The master bedroom bed was very comfortable but the other beds were not. Our host was wonderful and was very attentive.

Todd's community is just beautiful! The beach is fun and family friendly. The house was just right. We had a great time paddle boarding and hanging on the beach. Thanks Todd! :)

Great place for younger children.

Overall the place was great. The lake was crystal clear and clean. Used the kayaks and peddle boat a few times. Everyone was friendly. The only downside was the grill wasn’t clean and also the bathroom was older. I would go again.

Feels Like Home

This cabin on Halfmoon Lake exceeded all of our expectations. The pictures just can't do it justice. It does not feel like a rental property, it feels like home. It's equipped with all of the comforts you would expect at home and offered plenty of room for our family of 5. The views of the lake along the private beach are breathtaking. We are already planning our visit for next year. Thanks for having us!

Hypnotic Halfmoon Lake

Halfmoon is a beautiful lake in New Hampshire, and Todd has a lovely cottage that overlooks it. The cottage has plenty of space, and the main bedroom's bed is super comfortable. This is a great property to rent if you want to get away from it all. Unlike most places round New England, the Alton area has not really changed in the past 30 years.

Family Weekend

Cabin was almost perfect for myself, 3 kids and granddaughter, room for more if needed. I say almost and gave four stars for only one reason, they didn’t allow campfire or fire-pits. Other than that the lake, cabin, amenities and location was perfect. Highly recommend(unless you really want to hang out by the fire at night haha)

Great Family Hetaway

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin is clean and cozy. It had everything we needed to be comfortable. It’s just a short walk to the sandy beach area. I loved how quiet and peaceful it was. We had two rainy days. Luckily, the cabin has good Wi-Fi connection and. a bunch of games to play. We also took a short ride to an arcade near Lake Winnipesaukee that had old school games like Pac man, Space Invaders and Donkey Kong. We floated down the Saco River on tubes one day and explored the Lost River Gorge another. Both were about an hour away.

Fabulous week

Todd was excellent about communicating with me as this trip got figured out. Denise was very helpful during our stay. The property is in a beautiful area. I loved the view from the tables...flowers and lake. We enjoyed the peacefulness of the cottage, the fun beach times, putzing to Lake Winnipesaukee, and more. The neighbors gave great recommendations for meals. It was a vacation that can be repeated!

Amazing hidden gem!

I can not say enough great things about this property. This was not our first stay at this cottage. The cottage is warm and welcoming with everything you need for a peaceful, family vacation. The beach and lake (which is visible from the cottage and about 100 step away) is beautiful. Having your own table and chairs at the beach is awesome. The lake is so clean, great for the little ones because it is shallow for quite a distance out. The bigger kids will enjoy swimming out to the raft. Todd, the owner is so easy to work with and very attentive to your needs and quickly responds to any questions you might have. Overall a great place to stay. We will be back again next summer!

perfect family getaway

My husband and I and our two children loved our time here. The cottage was more than we expected and suited us perfectly. The grounds and beach are beautiful and close to plenty of things to do. Recomended to any family who needs a getaway:) can't wait to go back!!

Clean home and lake

We loved our weekend getaway to the lake. The C abin was cozy and clean and had that camp-like feel to it. The lake was 100 strides away and was warm, clean with well-groomed beaches and fun for the whole family. We liked taking the canoe out to explore the lake, as well. Thank you for a wonderful weekend.

It is defintely a little piece of heaven......

We had a wonderful vacation at this cottage on half moon lake. The cottage is fully stocked and the grounds are beautiful!!!! The lake has a beach that is absolutely beautiful with breathtaking views. One of our best family vacations!!!!!!

I have been vacationing at this lake for over 50 years. Every year we make the journey and every year we have a great time. Now my kids are enjoying it as much as I did when I started coming up here. We enjoy sharing our cottage and the beautiful beach and lake with our guests. We have many guests who come back year after year to relax and unwind at "the lake".
