Our gîte is the perfect setting in which to relax and share in the joy of life . We are, Sylvie and Mark and we welcome you to an extremely cosy residence to give you a maximum amount of comfort with many on-site facilities. The gîte is ideally located to tour the region, only 10 miles away from Saumur. The visit of the royal abbey is a must where you can discover the effigies of some of the Plantagenêt kings and queens. A contemporary art museum with a 5 million Euro art collection opened its doors in July 2021. A fabulous addition to the abbey visit
Although you are in the heart of the village, you will feel totally secluded as our garden is 2000m2. You will be sitting by the pond, listening to the frogs in the spring and summer or indulging in swimming in our heated sunken Sydney Sunbay 7 x 5m swimming pool. The pool is only shared with us the owners respectully of your privacy.

On colder days, you can snuggle in front of the fireplace! We are fluent in English, French and German. Sylvie runs a language school teaching French to local residents and Francophiles from all over the world. Landscaped garden with enclosed privacy garden


Changeover day in July and August : Changeover is usually Saturday. Arrival time from 4pm and departure time no later than 10.30am. For other seasons, flexible


Touristic sites privileged discovery: Sylvie has provided you with a lot of brochures in the gîte describing all the nearby places of interest and extra ones further afield.

Sylvie can organise cookery courses with the local gastronomic restaurant and wine-tasting sessions with local partners. She can also take you to the local craftsmen who love disclosing the secrets of their savoir-faire.

Catering service, à la Carte French tuition, cooking classes:

The gastronomic restaurant opposite the gite offers a catering service. I run cookery workshops for our gite guests with the restaurant chef. You can combine an idle stay with an unforgettable activity!

You can also make the most of your stay to join a few French classes. It would be so much more interesting for you if you could communicate better with the people around you.
