Beautiful sunsets

The most beautiful sunsets and outlook over the sea, simply stunning. Friendly and helpful property management always available. A very clean property and the lovely maid even made us a chocolate cake. Beautiful place to stay fantastic facilities beautiful area beautiful people.

Excellent view, beautiful house and a lot of beaches to choose from.

Very welcoming people and the place was fantastic. Be ware the roads are a bit treacherous but just travel during the day. I would highly recommend this place. They even had some wine, bread and breakfast food for us as we arrived very late the night before. Top notch.

Extraordinary holidays!

Spectacular house, spacious rooms and an outdoor area with amazing views and an incredible sunset. Great pool and jacuzzi. Extraordinary! We have spent some great days in Crete. The house is located in a very quiet area and the support and attention have been absolutely unbeatable. Thank you very much for everything Mario and Loana!

Perfect for relaxing

Villa Aglaia is a great place to really relax. The sunsets were stunning. The property is beautifully built and very comfortable. For our family; with teenage children happy to wander to the beach and snorkel alone, it was great. A local taverna had fantastic food and only a short drive away. The journey to the property was breath taking, literally, around some v sharp bends in the mountains, but also stunning views. This did make journeys out a bit of a mission, but we were out every day at different beaches, or activities. We always made it home for sunset though as just amazing.

Away from it all

We had a fabulous two weeks at Villa Aglaia. The villa is in a beautiful, quiet location with amazing sunsets! It is a perfect villa to escape from busy lifestyles and we melted into the local rural area. There is only one taverna within reasonable distance but the terrace at the villa is wonderful for eating in or taking up the food delivery service (we didn’t use this though). The villa could do with some upgrading, particularly the shower room and main bedroom ensuite. It is also in need of more kitchen utensils/smaller saucepans. More comfortable relaxation seats around the pool would also be a good addition. The Manager is excellent and quick to respond to queries. Thank you for a wonderful couple of weeks!

Incredible View and Great Pool

Please know that the pictures do not do the view justice- It has a perfect view of the sunset facing West with a panoramic view of the ocean. The infinity pool is a very generous size and easily one of the largest ive seen at any villa. The stars are amazing at night. The accommodations inside are fine and comfortable, but the real star of the place is the outside area. AC works wonderfully in high heat, beds are comfy, and the kitchen has most everything you need. The proximity to Elafonisi beach is very nice and can be reached (by the coastal road, if you ignore google) by 15 minutes. It is one of the main reasons you should stay here as most people have multi hour roundtrips to get to this beach. Do know the area is quite remote and roads are not for the faint of heart. If you want privacy, family/romantic time, great pool, beautiful sunsets this place is perfect. There are a few great tavernas that can be reached in 5-10 minutes (highly recommend "The West" in Kampos). It is a great base for a side of the island most do not see much of. There are a few other villas around but still nothing that should interfere with your privacy. Would stay again!

Es ist ein wunderschön gelegenes Ferienhaus mit einem einmaligen Blick übers Meer. Man hat gleichzeitig viel Ruhe und eine gewisse Abgeschiedenheit und gleichzeitig viele Möglichkeiten die schöne Landschaft und das besondere an der Westküste kennenzulernen. Das Essen aus den umliegenden Restaurants ist großartig. Es wird auf Wunsch sogar zum Ferienhaus geliefert. Die Kommunikation mit dem Gastgeber Mario war super. Er war immer gut zu erreichen und hat sich um alle Anliegen schnelle und verlässlich gekümmert. Wir waren mit zwei kleineren Kindern dort und kommen gerne wieder

Wunderschöne Gegend und Ruhe

Wer Ruhe und Natur erleben möchte, ist hier richtig. Die Villa ist sehr schön und mit Klimaanlage auch im Hochsommer angenehm. Essen kann man liefern lassen und Mario kümmert sich um alles. Generell 5 Sterne + - Danke für die schöne Zeit und wir kommen wieder. Kleiner Hinweis - Es sind ziemlich schwierige Straßen dort und empfehle einen SUV

Tolles Haus mit herrlichem Blick und fantastischem Pool

Das Haus liegt einsam an der Westküste zusammen mit einigen anderen feinen Villen in Alleinlage. Sehr gross, schön ausgestattet mit großem Pool mit Blick auf den spektakulären Sonnenuntergang. Lange Anfahrt, von Chania fast 2 Stunden, in der Umgebung der berühmte Elafonissi Strand(20min). Wir haben aber auch viel Zeit am Haus verbracht, da wir nicht so viel fahren wollten. Für die Erkundung der Insel liegt das Haus zu abseits. Der Vermieter hat uns 5 Tage vor Anreise in eine andere Villa umgebucht, die Villa Myllina, 250 m vom gebuchtem Objekt entfernt(Grund?), die Beschreibung bezieht sich auf diese Villa. Die Villen sind sich aber sehr ähnlich, unsere war vom Haus und vom Pool etwas größer. Schade nur, das die Poolbeleuchtung erst nach 3 Tagen funktionierte, das hätten die Vermieter(sehr freundlich) vor der Umbuchung überprüfen können.

Sehr schöne Villa mit perfektem Service

Wir waren Ende Juni 2021 für 2 Wochen in der Villa Aretousa. Ursprünglich hatten wir die Villa Aglaia gebucht, wurden aber vor unserer Ankunft (und mit unserem Einverständnis) auf Aretousa umgebucht, weil es ein technisches Problem mit dem Pool gab. Die beiden Häuser liegen nur wenige 100 Meter voneinander entfernt und sind von der Konstruktion sehr ähnlich. Die Ausstattung im Haus und das Service waren perfekt, es gab auch mehrmals während unseres Aufenthalts ein Reinigungsservice, was nicht selbstverständlich ist. Die Lage in Westkreta nahe Livadia ist ideal für Leute, die Ruhe und Entspannung suchen und die nicht jeden Tag über die ganze Insel für Besichtigungen fahren wollen. Der Standort ist dann aber doch nicht so einsam, wie man auf den ersten Blick vermuten würde. Über die Straße durch Livadia nach Süden erreicht man in 20 Minuten einen Supermarkt und in 25 Minuten ist man in Elafonissi. Dort hat man eine absolut tolle Auswahl an Stränden für die andere Touristen aus dem Norden oder Osten stundenlang anreisen müssen. Tipp 1: Nach Elafonissi nicht nach dem Routenplaner fahren, der zeigt die Straße direkt entlang der Küste nicht an, die Route über die Haupstraße ist ein großer Umweg. Tipp 2: Unbedingt Gialites Taverna besuchen (ca. 5 Minuten), die Qualität des Essens ist absolut Spitze. Tipp 3: Der Vermieter ist absolut zuvorkommend und hilfreich, wenn man mal nicht einkaufen will oder kann, übernehmen seine Leute gerne das Lieferservice.

Unglaublich tolle Unterkunft!

Hat alles super geklappt. Bin erst um 1:30 in der Nacht angekommen. Die Kommunikation mit Mario war exzellent, sodass der Check-in auch um diese Uhrzeit super unproblematisch ablief. Der Weg zur Unterkunft ist ein bisschen abenteuerlich, da es viel Serpentin und tlw. unbefestigte Straßen zu überwinden gibt. Dennoch lohnt sich diese Unterkunft, wenn man nach Ruhe, Entspannung und Erholung sucht. Super ausgestattet Unterkunft! Alles da was man benötigt. Einen unglaublich tollen Blick auf das Meer und ein unglaublich toller Sonnenuntergang. Wichtig zu erwähnen: Man brauch ein Auto um Einkaufen, Essen oder zum Strand zu fahren. Alles ist innerhalb von 15 min erreichbar. Kann man drüber hinwegsehen, man ist ja schließlich im Urlaub. Rund um kann man die Unterkunft nur empfehlen! Viele Grüße aus Berlin

This place has mastered the art of seduction

Beautiful location. The views are exceptional. The owners are helpful, responsive and extremely kind. While rural, the area has a lot of offer as Elafonisi beach is only 20 minutes away via the coastal road (Google will tell you to take the highway (approx. 40 min) but take the coastal road (in excellent condition better than the last stretch of road to the Keramoti Villas) past Livadia (the local ‘Village’) and you will reach Elafonisi and other restaurants in 20 minutes). My initial impression of the location was extremely rural and remote. When we first arrived we came from Chania and the last stretch of road after leaving the motorway is exceptionally rural. The scenery however is beautiful. The owners met us when we arrived and showed us around the properly. Our pool filter was broken at our villa so they arranged for us to move into an equal if not better villa. The owners equipped us with eggs, bacon, feta cheese, bread, butter, wine, oranges, orange juice, milk and water when we arrived to ensure we had the basics to get us started as the local town does not have a market. The nearest is 20 minutes away. They also gifted us with olive oil, oregano, and Greek salt from their family property. The owners provided a beautiful dinner of Chicken, Potatoes and a Greek Salad on our first night. Check out Koutoulou Beach-Keramoti Beach (walking distance) and the famous Elafonisi Beach while you are there. The local and only restaurant in the town 5 minutes away is called Gialites Tavernare. We highly recommend this restaurant. Their food is fantastic and the atmosphere feels like you are at your Greek uncles house. They also make their own pottery on site. As mentioned before, take the coastal road to Elafonisi (Google does not register this road but it has been recently paved) and you will discover more restaurants and markets as you approach Elafonisi beach. This is a good area to pick up groceries if need be. I mentioned to my husband I felt seduced by this area of Crete. At first I was overwhelmed with how rural it felt but after understanding our surroundings I fell in love with the place. The villa provided a private, quiet, peaceful place to relax and truly check out for a few days. We were treated to an epic sunset each night. With no one else around just my husband and I sipping on white wine relaxing by the pool. Highly recommend !! The entire time I felt like I was looking out onto the edge of the world.

Tolles Haus in einsamer Lage

Ein wirklich schönes und geschmackvolles Haus, sehr sauber und nett eingerichtet. Die Aussicht, die Terrasse und der Pool sind einfach wundervoll. Sehr netter Vermieter, der sich gut um seine Gäste kümmert. Die Taverne und ihr Catering Service sind, gerade angesichts der einsamen Lage, ein wunderbares Plus. Das Essen ist lecker, auf Wunsch werden auch Gerichte gekocht, die nicht auf der (guten) Karte stehen. Der wahnsinnig nette Elafonisi Strand ist (auf der Straße am Strand entlang, einfach Richtung Taverne fahren) in 15 bis 20 Minuten leicht zu erreichen. Alles andere erfordert eine relativ lange Fahrt über viele Serpentinen. Darauf muss man vorbereitet sein, das Haus liegt wirklich abgelegen.

A lovely villa perched on the hills over-looking the sea on the west coast of Crete

A lovely villa - clean, tidy and a great position. If we were to suggest any improvements it would be better directions to find the villa as we struggled as did others who visited us. The villa was slightly let down with the shower in the 2nd bedroom - could do with upgrading. A proper shower to the main bedroom would be better than the bath. The kitchen could be of a better quality - the worktop was very basic; we would normally expect a granite / stone worktop in a villa like this. Also, perhaps soft close doors etc to the units. The swimming pool was not heated and took a while to build the courage to brave the cold water! However, overall, the villa was very good and we would recommend to others.

Sehr erholsam

Wir waren die ersten zwei Wochen im Oktober auf Kreta. Die Villa ist sehr schön gelegen. Die Sicht auf das Meer und die Umgebung ist fantastisch. Wer die Ruhe sucht ist hier definitiv am richtigen Ort. Die Abgeschiedenheit der Anlage ist einzigartig. Wer dieses Domizil wählt muss sich bewusst sein, dass Einkäufe nicht gleich um die Ecke getätigt werden können. Für einen Einkauf fährt man locker 20-30 Minuten.(Tante Emma Laden) Das Haus ist wie in der Anzeige beschrieben. Im Oktober hatte es fast keine Touristen und so hatten wir unser ganz persönlichen Strand am Meer, zwar nur Kieselstrand aber dafür wird man mit glasklarem Wasser belohnt und die Wassertemperatur betrug gefühlte 24 Grad. Ausflüge in das Hinterland sind sehr zu empfehlen. Wer etwas mehr Trubel mag kann an die wunderschöne Elafonissi Beach, diese erreicht man in ca. 50 Minuten mit dem Auto. Fazit; Es war ein wunderbarer Urlaub weit weg von Hektik und Alltagsleben, ein Ort um zu relaxen und Kräfte zu tanken.
