THE SPACE

Large, luxurious and well appointed for those discerning guests.

The space is a perfect marriage between the old brownstone charm and the modern amenities.

Antique fire mantels with mirrors, tall ceilings, antique railings, pocket doors, large oversized windows, heart pine floors, intricate moldings, etc.

The property also bodes modern eclectic furnishings with design and comfort in mind, colorful oil paintings/artwork, antique persian rugs, and an unbeatable location.

First floor: large living room with comfortable velvet covered furnishings, work space with an antique Restoration Hardware desk, long stately dinning room table and a full kitchen with a separate sitting area. Also a full bath.

Kitchen includes high end stainless steel appliances, double door refrigerator, Breville stainless steel espresso machine, coffee machine, microwave and other cooking utensils and necessities.

Second Floor: Three large bedrooms ā€“ one king size bed and two queen size beds all with luxury high-end mattresses. Also another full bath, walking closets, and washer/dryer LG stacked units.

Third floor: a charming one bedroom in law suite/apt with another small kitchen, another king size bed, a sofa bed and a decorative fire mantels, decorative porch and a skylight.

First floor/basement apartment included in the listing bodes two additional bedrooms another full bath and another full kitchen -- the basement apartment has two separate entrances and it is completely separate from the top floor triplex (not connected through the triplex).

The basement apt. is bright rustic with exposed bricks, concrete floors, and stainless steel cabinets and appliances.

The property overall accommodates up to 12 guests.

Property is most centrally located and only a hop away to all the popular and coveted restaurants, shops, museums and monuments.

You are at the edge of the U st. corridor, only few steps from Adams Morgan and 18 St, and just a short walk to the Dupont Circle and the red line station.

Property on U st. and 18 -- few blocks to the 14st. shops and eclectic restaurants, Trader Joes and the Whole Foods market.

About 10 minutes walks to Georgetown and the Washington harbor. Also walking distance to all the monuments and museums and downtown offices.

U Street Get-A-Way

Great property! My wife, 3 kids and I really enjoyed our stay. David welcomed us to the house, gave us a quick tour, and filled us in on all the local restaurants. Really appreciated the welcome and the beer and wine in the fridge ;). House was super clean, super comfortable, and had all the amenities we needed. The neighbor hood is awesome. Great vibe, great restaurants, and the train station was right down the street. Highly recommend this house if you are looking for a cool DC experience. We were able to walk every night to have awesome dinners and we took the train every day to go do all touristy bs us tourist do. Ha. Great times, great place. Thanks David!

A lovely week in DC, starting with a worm welcome by David, instructions about the house and the surroundings. Excellent neighbourhood with a lot of different restaurants, coffee shops and different stores. We spend all evenings in the local area. In working distance to the White House and central DC.

Perfect home base for a week in DC

David's place is an excellent place from which to explore DC. It's mid-way between 3 busy restaurant-oriented neighborhoods: Dupont Circle, U-street/14th street, and Adams-Morgan. So if you want to enjoy meals out, there are a ton of options within 6-8 blocks in either direction. When you want to head farther away for museums or other sights, Uber and Lyft typically seemed to have many cars circulating nearby, and if you prefer the subway, the Dupont Circle and U-street stations are a .6-mile walk away. Unless you have to drive out of the city multiple times during your stay, don't waste any money on a rental car! The house has been nicely-remodeled and updated, with 3 full baths to help speed-up shower time before heading out. The full-sized washer/dryer on the 2nd floor is convenient to 3 of the 4 bedrooms. Beds are comfortable, with extra linens, blankets and towels easily accessible. We especially appreciated David's extra gesture of stocking the kitchen with an introductory portion of wine, beer, & espresso before our arrival. His Breville espresso machine was a very important part of our mornings! David met us upon arrival for a thorough walk-through of the house to teach us the finer points of managing locks, the thermostat, appliances, garbage day and more. We cooked about half our meals at the house and noticed a few useful kitchen utensils were missing and knives weren't sharp; so David dropped some extras by the house the next day (thank you!). And having a well-functioning dishwasher made post-meal cleanup quick & easy. Finally, when our departure flights were rescheduled to a later time in the day, David was very flexible about allowing us to leave our bags on-site after checkout, which gave us an extra half-day for sight-seeing in DC without having to worry about managing our bags. Sleep-wise, there are 2 bedrooms in the front of the house (1 on the 2nd floor, 1 on the 3rd) facing U street, which is a busy 4-lane arterial that also experiences frequent sirens from the police and fire stations 1 block away. The windows seem fairly well-insulated so this was not a problem for us, but if you have any light sleepers, you'll want to plan on them either bringing ear plugs or using one of the 2 bedrooms toward the alley in the rear. Bottom line, we'd enjoy renting David's place again for our next visit to DC. It's in a great location, is well-equipped, and is a much more comfortable option than a hotel.

Clean, comfortable and a great D.C. location!

Due to flight delays, we didn't arrive in DC until around 10:30 p.m. David warmly greeted us at his townhouse, giving us a brief tour and orientation. The home is clean, spacious and the beds and pillows were perfect...very comfortable. The location is ideal for walking to Georgetown, many great restaurants, Starbucks, Trader Joe's and just a short Uber ride to all the government buildings. We truly enjoyed our stay, as well as David's warm hospitality.

My family of 5 had a wonderful experience @ this U street property.My husband & I had the top floor bedroom,while the kids were in the other bedrooms.The location was great,and close to a lot of restaurants & things to do.We opted to not rent a car & used Uber or walking to get everywhere.The home was very clean & we were greeted by the owner David.He answered all our questions & recommended some places to see & do.The welcome bottle of wine & coffee was a nice treat.Our kids are 18,22 & 24 and the home gave our family a lot of space to where we were not all on top of one another.We would definitely rent this home again.Lesley S.Southlake,Tx

Comfortable row home in the heart of the action.

We had a really nice stay in July during one of the hottest weeks of the summer. The teen boys enjoyed having the upper level to themselves. It was great to have space to spread out and several bathrooms for a family of 6. The kitchen is well stocked even with coffee, beer and wine to take the edge off the long trip. I would have sold my soul for creamer first thing in the morning though. Luckily there are cafes near by and Amazon Prime delivers. There is an outer and inner door so deliveries can be left out of sight. The AC worked perfectly on all three floors which was a blessing. The mattresses and bedding were very comfortable. There are toiletries, appliances etc. All made us feel very taken care of. Things to note for future travelers: the home is on a busy street and traffic noise is unavoidable. There is a fire station up the block and sirens really bothered a couple of our group. Snag the back bedrooms or bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. The house is over 100 years old and the floors and stairs are very squeaky. This was only an issue when the teens on West coast time wanted to stay up much later than the rest of us. The parking spot in back is REALLY tight. Believe David when he cautions you about this. It's for a compact car and a confident driver. My husband can park anywhere and managed to get our minivan in but I don't recommend trying that. Also the exit to the back alley is super narrow. We folded our mirrors in and held our breath to make it through with an inch to spare. If I stayed again, I wouldn't bother with a car and just use Uber. It was easy to get rides in minivans that held our group of six and parking was a nightmare around the mall. David was a great host and I'd absolutely rent this or any of his other properties again.

Excellent Property & Location

We stayed in DC for 1 week. David's DuPont Circle property was on the mark. Beautifully renovated townhouse with all of the newest amenities. We were in town for a conference and this was a perfect alternative to hotel for our group. This location provided walking distance to/from many great restaurants, grocery, & attractions. Uber was 1-5 min away at all times. Beds were very comfortable! Excellent property in a centralized location.

Upscale, super comfy beds, and excellent customer service by the owner

Our family of 5 had a wonderful time in DC. The house was very nice and in a safe area. Every single bed was very comfortable. We all loved the pillows so much that I am buying them as soon as we get home! David was very accommodating. We had a mishap (our fault) and he was there right away to resolve it. We also appreciated the water, wine and beer available upon arrival. We spent our time visiting museums, memorials and landmarks. We took the metro once but found it easiest to take an Uber. There are stores and many restaurants in walking distance from the house. We would definitely stay here again.

Outstanding Stay in DC

We stayed at this property in DuPont Circle recently for a family visit to DC for our daughters graduation from GWU. David was very attentive, on time and followed up to assure everything was perfect. While the property has all the amenities of home, it is quite old and the charm was part of what our family loved. Sort of turned back in time on how those before us lived, with all the updated amenities of a modern property. It is conveniently located to experience all Washington DC has to offer. Our family would use the property again if the opportunity comes for us to all congregate in DC.

High-end comfort in great D.C. neighborhood

This property was very comfortable for our family of six (one grandmother, two parents and three adult children). High - end furnishings, bedding, kitchen items and bathroom toiletries. Three full baths was a plus! Great neighborhood! We felt totally safe walking to/from dinner. Coffee shops, bars and restaurants all within easy walking distance. Also easy metro and uber to anywhere you want to be in town. We did not have any issues, but please be aware if anyone has mobility issues. There are steps up to front door and narrow staircase to 2nd and third floor bedrooms.

Outstanding Dupont Circle Townhouse!!

Our five day stay in D.C. was fantastic, in no small part because we stayed in this large elegant townhouse that is located walking distance from many attractions and only a short Uber ride from the rest!! With four bedrooms and three full bathrooms there was plenty of room for our family to spread out after long days of sightseeing. Excellent property in a fantastic location!!

Great location for our family Christmas

Our family--three couple plus our toddler grandson--stayed here over Christmas weekend. The location was perfect for us, near our son's apartment and walking distance from several great restaurants that were suitable for our group. Perfect place

Great row house with plenty of space! Beds are incredibly comfortable. Useful kitchen to save a few $ on meals. Attended a conference at conference center downtown, and location was perfect. Able to walk a short mile to meetings or catch a $6 uber which were readily available. Got a feel for local activities with restaurants and bars in very short walking distance in three different directions. Beautiful neighborhood for jogging and very safe. Also walked to White House and nearby museums, monuments, etc. (took an uber back because our feet were a bit tired) David was present for check in/out and made sure we were happy throughout our stay. Literally, don't have one negative thing to say. Highly recommend!!

A Great Week Working in DC!

This is a great property in a great neighborhood. My company had a week long project in DC and this house worked out for the five of us. The house is well appointed and comfortable. Perfect townhouse, perfect location

We stayed at the townhouse for 4 nights in September. House is spacious and very nicely furnished with touches like memory-foam mattresses, luxury linens, and an expresso maker. Location is excellent, easy walk to DuPont circle, Metro stations, and restaurants in Adams-Morgan district. Highly recommend!

My sister and I stayed at the property for a very hot week in July. The home was very clean and ready for our families. The teenage boys enjoyed the separate space on the third floor. The location is great as we were able to walk to most of the tourist spots (Capitol, White House, museums, etc). There was also great restaurants and grocery stores (Safeway, Traders Joes, Whole Foods) close by. David was a gracious and responsive host and we enjoyed visiting with him as well. We would stay here again and recommend it to others. Great visit!

Location, location, location!

Great experience in a fantastic location. Four of us colleagues rented this nicely appointed home for a work trip and it worked out splendidly. The home was spacious, had more than we needed including extra niceties like bottled water and a couple of complimentary bottles of wine. David was great to work with and even accommodated an early drop off of luggage so we could offload what we didn't need with our early arrival and get straight to exploring the city in our limited free time. Would definitely stay here again!

Great vacation in DC with the family

Great brownstone in the heart of the city, lots of restaurants nearby and easy access to all major spots in the city. The highlight of this property is the host David -- a super friendly person, who was on hand past midnight to show us around the house on a Friday night and texted us the next day to make sure everything was cool. The house itself has been fully revovated and has high end touches everywhere - the beds, furniture and the kitchen. This is a house in the heart of the city, so expect the neighborhood to be alive late into the night, lots of character in the house, and parking for one car.
