Very cute, comfy 2 bedroom stay. Basement level but plenty of windows and light (just a somewhat low ceiling so I'm glad my 6'3" hubby wasn't with me). Kitchen is small but we didn't cook so it didn't matter. Convenient location, great coffee shop/eatery (Baskette) within walking distance. Parking is tight but doable.

This was a very clean and well stocked duplex. All the utensils and dishes you could need are there. Fridge and microwave are adequate and the coffee maker works well.

Stay was exactly what we were expecting. Listing is accurate. Rooms/beds were comfortable. Neighborhood and upstairs renters were quiet. Having a designated parking spot was great. Washer/dryer was good to have as well. Host was easy to reach if needed. Nightly rate was good compared to similar listings. Would stay there again.

We had a very pleasant stay overall. The homeowner was incredibly welcoming, responsive, and accommodating. She kindly allowed us to drop off our luggage several hours before the official 4:00 p.m. check-in, which made a huge difference to our day, and we really appreciated her flexibility. The suite was also very clean and well maintained.There are just a few areas that could make an already nice stay even better. The bathroom exhaust fan was extremely loud and could probably use replacing. We also found that noise from the upstairs unit carried very easily, we could hear footsteps and movement late into the night, which made it difficult to sleep. Bring earplugs for sure!Finally, this may have been our oversight when booking, but we really missed having a dishwasher. Handwashing dishes isn’t exactly how I like to spend my vacation (I don’t even do it at home!), so adding a small dishwasher, even in the laundry area if space allows, would be a wonderful upgrade for future guests.Overall, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the host’s hospitality. With a few improvements, this would be an even more comfortable place to stay

For future guests, the suite is advertised as a lower-level basement unit, and the nightly rate is set accordingly. As with many lower-level accommodations, some sound transfer from the upstairs unit can occasionally occur. We wish we had known about your concerns regarding the bathroom fan and sound transfer during your stay, as we were in contact and would have appreciated the opportunity to address them at the time. Regarding the dishwasher, the listing accurately reflects the amenities provided, and a dishwasher is not included. We appreciate your suggestions and are always looking for ways to improve our guest experience. Thank you again for staying with us, and we wish you all the best in your future travels.

There are 2 reasons For not giving this property 5 stars:1. The on site parking is very tight if you have a large vehicle. We were in a Toyota Highlander and it was difficult parking between another guests car and the garage. The parking spot is off the alley, which is tight, and you have to contend with garbage cans and a low wall, as well as other residences cars.2. There were guests in the upstairs property who stomped around like a herd of buffaloes. They argued quite a bit and we could hear it all.*If you are a very tall man, or woman, the low ceiling in the downstairs property might be a bit of a problem.Otherwise this is a great property located near many attractions and restaurants.

City Haven III was built in response to the positive feedback we received from the original City Haven (vrbo Listing 585829) which is located right next door and upper unit of this home (vrbo listing 741854).

These homes are part of a love story that started back in 2004 when I purchased this house. The following year, my now husband moved from New York and bought the house next door. When we met, I asked him to move his garbage cans out of my driveway. But soon I started asking him to salsa dancing. And then he asked me to dinner. We fell in love! The man who bought the house next door married the girl next door (me!). Two kids and a few years later, we kept the homes a rentals and moved a few blocks North.

I left my job at Microsoft and we started buffing, remodeling, scraping and decorating these homes we've come to love. City Haven III is the result of a recent remodel that's turned this old 1920's Craftsman into a modern beauty with period charm.

We're Team Simon and our whole family works to make this a place you'll love to call home for a while. We love it! And we hope you'll love it, too.

We bought this home for the same reason you'll want to stay here.... close to Green Lake (swimming, paddle boats, golf)! Close to the Zoo (animals, outdoor summer concerts)! Grocery store 3 blocks away (last minute wine and snacks)! Right next to the express bus to downtown and close to all the great restaurants in Fremont (cook, schmook... let's go out to eat)! It's the perfect centralized hub to live like a local while still being close to everything the downtown area has to offer. Home away from home!
