Amazing Cottages!

We had such a great time. There were six of us total (three couples in our 30s) and we just had a quick weekend getaway. Cottages were perfect, beach was so close and private, location was amazing, Nathan was lovely. We had an amazing time.

Beautiful quiet and clean

Our cabin was clean and comfortable. It is a well thought out design with lights and heat where you need it. It had a stacked washer and dryer which was supprisingly roomy and very handy.

A comfortable house, close to the beach

Of course proximity to a unique and long sandy beach is the best feature of this property. Takes less than 100 steps to get to the beach, but the beach itself is almost a mile long, with clean sand you will want to walk barrfeet. The property is very well designed to let you chill, enjoy being outside, and the location is convenient to allow exploring some of the top destinations of Manitoulin. Like others said, the owners are very friendly, but give you space, and take good care of their cottages. Thanks for a great stay, Ruth and Nathan

Wonderful place

We really enjoyed staying at this property. Cottage is very well taken care of, clean and had everything we need (even sand toys for kids). Nathan and Ruth are very nice and accommodating. Great access to the beach.

Fantastic stay

The place has everything you need, very clean, and close to all things Manitoulin. Right on a beautiful beach, with a bocce court and plenty of firewood. Would go again for sure.

Amazing view- great stay

Nathan and Ruth were amazing hosts, easy check in process. Super helpful and were onsite to answer any questions via text. Cabin number 2 was amazing! My mum, brother and I stayed with our two goldens and we loved this stay. Not only was it pet friendly we enjoyed walking and hanging out on the beach. Would love to come back and stay again. The cabins are well stocked with everything you need to cook and eat, plus heat for this colder weather. Can’t wait to come back and stay again!

Wonderful location

We had a great time at Dominion Bay Cottages. The cottage was clean, with lots of amenities (but no TV or Wi-Fi, which is actually a good thing!), and the location was perfect (the beach is awesome). Ruth, the owner, was easygoing, accommodating, and very helpful. Our dogs also enjoyed themselves. We will definitely be back!

The extra little touches

Even more beautiful than the listing online. All of the little touches were covered; from dry firewood in small sizes, the newspaper that I had brought not sure if it would be provided, to barbeque lighters, foil, plastic wrap, a bunch of little extras. Garbage is in each room, face clothes in the washroom, all kinds of little extras. The property itself is stunning, The beautiful sandy beach that I walked both nights that we were there. We were even allowed to take the fire bowl to the beach, to have a fire down at the beach. Absolutely outstanding! Nathan and Ruth were friendly and accommodating. I am planning to go back.

Beach Beauty

The cottage is small, and has no internet, but fully equipped kitchen, helpful owners and great location, whether you are staying put, or exploring the island.

A wonderful place to get-away

We stayed in a cottage just after Christmas until January 2nd. It was very clean and cozy, with plenty of heat, warm quilts and hot water. I enjoyed cooking in the kitchen which had all the pots, pans and kitchen tools you would hope to have, even a cheese grater :) The location is great, we were able to walk in the woods and on the beach in the middle of winter. Nathan was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. A main reason we chose to stay there is because they are pet friendly, but we would return again and recommended it to friends because it is a great place to stay. The only odd thing was that the VRBO app posted two booking confirmations in my account for this one stay - each had the correct date but had different arrival and check out times. I only noticed this the morning we checked out. It wasn't an issue for us, but I would watch for this if I booked during the high season. I saw this as a glitch with VRBO's app and nothing to do with host or the accommodations which were both wonderful.

Family friendly place for summer vacation

Great location in woods right by a sandy beach of the Lake Huron so that we could hear waves running up on the beach. We had a comfortable stay in the three bedroom cottage with fully equipped kitchen, barbecue and fire pit outside of the cottage.

Family vacation paradise

The Dominion Bay cottages are the perfect setting for families with children ( little & big) to enjoy a private yet communal beachfront family vacation. From the moment of reservation and then arrival, Nathan was easy to contact, helpful and extremely friendly. His wife and daughter are lovely and check in on you periodically throughout the week to see if there’s anything you need. This family run business has mastered giving distance to allow for quality private family time but also creating a communal atmosphere via sharing stories, advice and freshly caught fish with everyone in the cottages. My 6 year old was in heaven catching frogs in the small pond between the cottages and beach. My 2 year old was able to sit and play right in front of the cottage and was easy to watch from the inside. Beds were memory foam so on the softer side with a bit of a dip. Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed (you’ll need to bring condiments and spices). Bathroom had the best tub & always lots of hot water. The fire pit was convenient and all families seems to use them every night. The beach is very nice, shallow and sandy. There were barely any bugs. Other than the beds not being to my husband’s liking, everything was divine. We hope to visit again and again and will tell our friends. Thanks to Nathan & family for a great vacation!

wonderful, private getaway

a lovely place right on the beach, far away from it all. Nathan and Ruth are lovely people and most helpful. The place was very clean and comfortable...memory foam mattresses!...now i have to get one for my home. Good water and plenty of hot water. We loved the quiet, the scenery and the beach. The only thing negative was the lack of bath towels...be sure to bring one with you. Thanks Nathan and Ruth for a lovely time....

Gorgeous property!

My family and I loved our stay. The property and the surroundings were amazing! The beds were so comfy and the overall feeling was so welcoming. We loved how close we were to the lake. Just steps away! It was such a relaxing atmosphere. Everything was perfect! Definitely planning another trip!
