Lakeview Cottage on Private Beach on Lake Huron

Experience the best of beach living at our lakeview cottage on the sandy shores of Lake Huron. Whether you're looking for a relaxing beach getaway or an activity-filled adventure, our property delivers on all fronts.

Nestled amongst the trees in a gated beach community, you're free to explore all that Hillsboro Beach has to offer! The beach extends for miles in both directions and is ideal for swimming, lounging, sandcastle building, and relaxing sunset walks. Tennis courts and a full-size kids play structure offer a spot for those looking to stay active during their vacation, while the nearby lagoon filled with painted turtles, frogs, and minnows is a great way to keep kids busy for an afternoon! Alternatively, bring your own boat, kayak, or paddleboard to take full advantage of the beautiful freshwater lake!

Our property features a large shared fire pit (wood provided) with gorgeous sunset views, making it the perfect way to finish off a day of fun in the sun. Come get away from it all at Hillsboro Beach.


--- The Space ---
Living room includes TV Monitor (with HDMI cable) and remote controlled electric fireplace/heater. Bright and spacious with 5 large windows.

Kitchen includes: full size fridge/freezer, stove & oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, kettle, pots and pans, cutlery, and dishes/cups.

No linens, towels, or toiletries included; please bring your own sheets, pillows, duvets, and towels. Three piece bathroom includes sink, toilet, and shower.

Outdoor deck and patio includes propane BBQ (propane included at no charge), dining table and chairs, and outdoor chairs. From the deck, it's less than a minute walk across 100 feet of sand to the lake.

Tennis & basketball court, frog pond, and swingset/climber nearby. Guests will need to provide their own tennis racquets and/or basketballs.

--- The Beach ---
Lake water is clean and warm, shallow and sandy at the shoreline and gradually deeper as you go out further. Great for kids/toddlers/non-swimmers in shallow area, or advanced swimmers out in the deep. On wavy days, water is great for bodysurfing, while calm days are perfect for sunning and relaxing - so bring your floaties!


--- The Neighbourhood ---
The cottage is located on Hillsboro Beach, a family-friendly private beach not open to the pubic. Closest town is Forest, ON (10 minute drive), with a grocery store, pharmacy, LCBO/Beer Store, movie theatre, and restaurants/shopping.

Kettle Point boat launch is located about 10 minutes away with daily trailer parking for pleasure crafts or fishing boats.

If you enjoy day trips, we're located about 20 minutes drive from Sarnia, ON, with additional shopping and restaurants just across the border in Port Huron, USA. Grand Bend is another popular tourist destination with souvenirs, outdoor activities, bars, restaurants, and patios. Mini putt is our personal favourite.

Stonepicker Microbrewery, Dark Horse Winery, and Twin Pines Cidery are also popular local spots for a pint, tasting, and good eats!
