The apartment is totally renovated and furnished with taste and color that make Garraffello House a welcoming and refined place for your holiday. Hospitality, availability, friendliness are the aspects that best define the attention and care towards guests.
On the first floor of a historic building of the seventeenth century, the apartment has an entrance hall, a living room used as a breakfast room, a kitchen with appliances and three bedrooms, one with a bathroom in the room. A long balcony on which the rooms open characterizes the prospect from which one can admire Corso Vittorio Emanuele. The rooms are equipped with air conditioning and TV are furnished with combinations of antique and modern style in a continuous dialogue between past and present life.
The rooms are characterized by the colors:
The green room, the blue room and the dove-gray room.
The "Tortora" double room has a private bathroom with shower and can be transformed into a quadruple, if necessary, thanks to a sofa bed.
The blue room that recalls the beauty of our sea and the sky of Sicily, is a double bedroom, the bathroom (with shower) is shared with the green room.
Finally, the green room, bright and colorful like our lawns, has two single beds that can become a double bed if necessary, the bathroom is shared with the blue room.

This VRBO had so much space! It was right in the center of everything without being super noisy at night. The host was very kind and accommodating for our delayed flight and our late checkout. Would definitely stay here again.

Stefania and her husband greeted us and were welcoming and very thorough with the apartment how to’s. There were 4 of us and apartment was large and accommodating. If you have mobility issues the stairs and several steps between various rooms may pose a challenge. We stayed here because we wanted the experience of being right in the center of town which totally met this expectation! There was an abundance of food choices within walking distance and closeness to various forms of transportation. Need to be aware of the very small shower in larger bedroom. There are several low doorways so caution there as well. Will need to be very attentive to not to overload power circuits- can’t run all 3 air conditioners at the same time. These factors didn’t take away from my rating just making sure others know what to expect. Apartment met our needs and the host was very prompt in communicating and very welcoming.

Great location, clean and spacious

We enjoyed staying at Stephania’s especially for the location and size of apt. She was extremely responsive and easy to communicate with and loved that she and her son picked us up at the bus station well after an acceptable check in time.

The stay was in general really fantastic! The location perfect for moving by bus and on feet. All around the house was ideal for eating and strolling around. The only negative point was the relatively loud surroundings near the very populated Vittorio Emanuele Road, and as we didn’t sleep with air condition but with open windows it was loud until late night. I arranged with ear tabs and so it worked.

Lovely apartment

Stefania was a lovely and gracious hostess. She was there when we arrived and explained everything in detail. She also gave us recommendations on where to go and what to see. The apartment is centrally located around shops and restaurants.

It’s a great apartment. The electricity cannot maintain all the air conditioning units on at the same time. We had to shut them off to shower or do laundry. I would 100% stay there again even though the electricity was fickle.

Good location nice apartment

The apartment had scaffolding in front of all of windows and doors. The scaffolding was catching trash and debris which caused a smell. He apartment is nice.

We had a fine stay at Garraffello apartment. Stefania our host was exceptionally gracious and helpful. She answered my communications in good time. And she even arranged to meet us at the apartment on our arrival, so she could show us around, make sure we were comfortable, and offer dining suggestions. The location is perfect- Vucciria, near to sights, waterfront, restaurants, and good breakfast options. We took the bus from the airport, which stopped just a few blocks away from the Garraffello Apartment. The central train station is about 20 minute walk. The apartment is up a narrow flight of stairs, no elevator, so best for small suitcases and backpacks.All bedrooms have windows and balconies overlooking the street below, which is filled with Palermo charm. We could hear street noise at night, but it didn’t keep us up. All of Palermo is noisy at night, so bring ear plugs if you are sensitive.It was plenty of space for me, my husband and our 2 friends. It could easily sleep another adult or 2, or some kids. It is in an old building and some of the apartment features feel worn and dated. The shower in the master bathroom is tiny, but we made it work. Overall this was a good choice for us.

The owner and her son are lovely people, happy to help out however they can. The apartment is very spacious, clean and simple. The 5 of us were very comfortable. The apartment truly is in the heart of the city, in an old building up one flight of stairs. So, if you want to be in the center of things and don't mind some street noise especially on the weekend, then I highly recommend this property.

Perfect location!!

Wonderful location in main downtown area near harbor. Walking distance to many great restaurants, churches and shopping. We walked to many attractions, I couldn’t believe how close they were. Apartment was spacious, large bedrooms, modern updates. Functional kitchen with everything you need. Really appreciated owner having espresso packets for espresso machine, snacks on the kitchen table and bottled water in refrigerator. Palermo is a beautiful city and there is so much to see, we couldn’t see it all. We will definitely be back and I highly recommend this apartment as it is the perfect location. Grazie!!!

Convenient central location

Wonderful location in old city center- wish I would have read about all construction/covering- limited outdoor light coming inside- we kept the windows locked up as advised by Stefana. Also it looks a bit sketchy @ the entrance & it’s located above a restaurant/bar. Only one night did I get a smell of grease coming up from below. Can be a bit loud- just keep the AC on & bring your earplugs. We spent most of our days out only returning to sleep. AC works great/ lots of room / could update the towels, linens & kitchen tools …and you need a working wine opener. A good place to stay with lots of room for many. Place locks up well - as three of us women travelers felt safe. Have fun!

The presence of the scaffolding was reported in the announcement in the description of the house, I report the part relating to the problem: "Unfortunately the building is currently covered by scaffolding, but the renovation works have not yet begun and the balcony can be accessed without problems For greater safety the rooms are equipped with iron grates." Garraffallo House, Palermo, Sicily April 15-29, 2023 5 Star When visiting Palermo it is important to know about nightlife so you can select housing that fits your needs. If you want to be in the heart of the Historic District, this apartment is the perfect location. Just steps from the main street Via Vittorio Emanuele, and also just a few steps from a lively corner bar that makes wonderful cocktails. We knew in advance that the sounds of life in the city would reach our rooms, but that was part of the flavor that we came for. Everything in the apartment looks exactly like the photographs. It was clean and comfortable. Most travelers don’t spend that much time in the room, but if you do, the kitchen is equipped with everything you’d need. Super hot showers, good lighting throughout. Plenty of storage room in closet to put your suitcases away and a handy coat rack in the foyer. Don’t expect American features, everything there is “quaint and charming.”

Good location

The apartment is very well located right off of a main street and very close to another. Due to its location, there was a lot of street noise at night, so be aware if that might impact your sleep. As another guest mentioned, there is construction on the outside of the building. There was scaffolding up that obscured the lovely view in the listing photos and as a result, almost no natural light. Only the bedrooms open to the terrace, so there was no natural light in the whole apartment. We did not have any construction noise during our stay. The large bedroom with the ensuite bathroom has a VERY small shower, so if you are overweight this may be a concern. It was not big enough to bend down to pick something up that you dropped, and there was no shelf to rest any items. Our stay was fine, the location and security were good, but we would likely not return due to the lack of natural light and the uncomfortable shower.

No warning about location being close to late night restaurants

We arrived to the rental and were surprised to see the whole building shrouded in scaffolding. There was no point on going out to the balcony as all you could see was the scaffolding. There was also no warning that the location is 10 metres off one of the most busy pedestrian streets in Palermo with restaurants with outside seating open until all hours of the morning. As well as listening to that noise all night, we were then subjected to construction noise on the building starting first thing in the morning. If we had known this was going on, we would have never chosen this location as there was a notice posted on the building indicating this construction had been going on for some time. We requested a reduction from our rental cost but was denied by the owner. This was not a pleasant experience and would not recommend this vrbo rental

Hi Debbi, I'm really sorry to hear that what dozens of other tourists have appreciated, and which is one of the strengths of the house, such as the proximity to one of the most beautiful pedestrian streets in the city, was instead a reason for you to unease. In truth, the house is set back a few tens of meters from the main road and this, combined with the thick walls of the building and the double glazed windows, allows you to stay in total silence and quiet. As for the scaffolding, those balconies have seen centuries of history, they have passed under the rule of Spanish, French, Austrians and Garibaldi walked down those balconies! Periodic maintenance is required to keep the splendor of this historic building unchanged. However, the works have not yet begun and for this reason the balconies are clean, accessible and usable and you can still see the street; maybe you didn't even try to look out of the windows but if you had told me I would have invited you to do it. And finally, the noises you heard in the morning were due to work in progress in an adjacent building, unluckly I wasn't aware of it. However, the works were carried out within the hours established by the municipal regulations, not before 8 am in the morning and not later than 7 pm. It is therefore a temporary situation that does not disturb night rest. I'm really sorry that you had a bad time but, believe me, I couldn't predict it, since all the guests who have stayed in the house have always declared themselves fully satisfied, as you can see by yourself from the 5 stars reviews before and after your stay. Garraffello House

The host, Stefania, is one of the nicest, most accommodating hosts I have encountered. She was responsive, helpful and gracious. The property is very much as depicted in the online photos and the location of the property was ideal for walking to most of the locations of interest. We found all 3 major street markets walkable. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and a grocery store nearby. This is a first floor apartment with 23 steps from the street level to the entrance of the unit. The building was in the process of significant renovation when we arrived. The entire side of the building that fronts Via Loggia was covered by scaffolding and netting. This construction created two problems. First, with construction comes noise. From about 8:15 in the morning until late afternoon on weekdays, the construction was ongoing, producing noise that ranged from mildly annoying to bone-jarring. Secondly, because the building was covered with scaffolding and netting, the advertised balcony was virtually useless. You could still access it from the apartment, but there is little attraction in sitting under scaffolding and netting with the view totally obscured. I feel that we should have been notified in advance of our arrival. The proximity to shops, restaurants, etc is a plus. The negative is the noise, especially on the weekends, when things didn't quiet down until 3:00 am. But for the construction issues, we had a a very nice stay and I would rent it again if I returned.

Great Location, in Palermo city center Not easy to see apartment because of scaffolding placed all around the row from the property. Located Right next door to a bar/food restaurant. The rooms are pretty much what you see in the listing; however, it does not show the scaffolds covering the balconies and bedrooms, dark rooms, can’t see outside. No elevator. Once you enter through the primary door to the apartment you have to take 2 steps down to enter entrance into the home. Then another 2 step into kitchen (watch for your head, red strips above alert you to that). Then from the kitchen another couple steps into master bedroom (very large) with tiny bathroom. TV in bedrooms and dining area. No bath soap, No Shampoo provided. Wine glasses, Dishes,..pots pans provided Pleasantly decorated. Firm Bed Air Conditioner in each bedroom (first two small bedrooms are located next to entrance), AC in kitchen. However, you can only run one AC at a time; otherwise, the circuit breaker turns off and you have to keep resetting it. Stephania is very responsive. I alerted her of the mold and she arranged for the cleaning lady to come by to clean it. No towel rods in bathroom, Showers not cleaned well: moldy inside and out. Shower hand held head (bathroom located in room 3) does not fit into rod holder, keeps falling out. Very tight shower (tighter than a coffin), impossible to shower Water pressure is bad in shower if another water is being run. Bathroom outside front room is very

Appartement conforme à la description. Très bien équipé avec le charme des anciens bâtiments. Trois chambres dont une gigantesque. Deux salles de douche. Très bien situé. Nous avons été très bien accueillis. Logement très propre. Notre famille recommande ce logement sans aucune réserve.
