Santa Isabel is a practical, independent apartment in Madrid with free WiFi and air conditioning.

It features a bedroom with a double bed, a living room with a sofa bed and flat-screen TV—perfect for relaxing and enjoying a good movie after a long day working or studying in Madrid. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare your meals comfortably, including a microwave, ceramic hob, fridge, and toaster. The private bathroom includes complimentary toiletries and a hairdryer. Towels and bed linens are provided free of charge.

This apartment is an ideal place to make Madrid your home and enjoy a comfortable and convenient stay in the city.

Cute little apartment in the heart of Madrid

OVERALL - The apartment was in a great location with a few good restaurants right outside the door. Atocha, a major train station, is a few blocks away and there are plenty of attractions within a 15-minute walk or transit trip. The kitchen was modest and usable. The unit could use a little TLC and was a little tighter than we assumed from the pictures. PROS - The location was superb. The apartment has just enough space and amenities to be what we needed. Having a washing machine was awesome. The water got hot very quickly (and a bit too quickly). CONS - The hot water got EXTREMELY hot--be careful. The bed was hard in our opinion. In sum, we appreciated the apartment and would recommend.

Not So Charming

My wife and I have been travelling internationally for over 50 years. We have never been more disppointed with any of our accomodations as we were with the "Charming Santa Isabela" property. The written description and the photos on the website are incredibly misleading. Unless all of the lights are on, as they are in the photos, there is no natural light in the unit at all, unless you leave the door open. There are only three small windows in the unit that open on to an enclosed dark and not so pleasant smelling "patio." When we opened the door to the unit, were were overcome by the strong smell of sewage that permeated the unit. No amount of cleaning anything would have eliminated that odor. The written description of the unit mentions enjoying the "nightlife" of the area. One picture that was not included in the photo gallery online was a picture of the very large sign posted by the door that warns people, in Spanish and English, not to open the door at night to anyone unless given permission by email from the rental agency. It is obviously not a neighborhood that invites people to safely enjoy the nightlife. Nor does the warning make you feel comfortable with the need to leave the door open to get any natural light or fresh air into the unit. We did not stay in the unit. When the rental agency refused our request to find us another, more acceptable space, regardless of the price, we found our own accomodations elsewhere.

Disappointing

This unit has a good location, it is clean looking, the bed is comfortable, the plumbing and electricity work well, and there are plenty of outlets. But with this said, we cannot recommend staying here. We were promised 2 keys for 2 people but only given one. The windows have no screens (bugs outside). The bathroom door continually slides open leaving no privacy. The floor is dirty, don’t walk without shoes. The couch is the only place to put down and open a suitcase leaving no place to sit. There are no dressers and no drawers. There is no toilet paper holder, no paper towels, no tissues. Unless you close the lid of the toilet you have no place for your toiletry bag. This kitchen table squeaks. The alarm clock and the bathroom scale were a nice touch but did not work. We were asked to take out the garbage but only 1 garbage bag was provided. As you walk in, the unit smells musty. The unit is so moist that cotton laundry takes 3 days to dry. We were given 2 large and fluffy bath towels for 5 days which should have been ample. But they never dried completely because it was so humid, and after each shower we were trying to dry off with a partially wet towel. Three sides of the bed are against a wall. The second person in bed had to climb over the first. In our view, there were more negatives than positives, leaving us disappointed.

Die Wohnung ist feucht und muffig, kaum Tageslicht. Große schwarze Schimmelfläche an der Wand hinter dem Bett. Kaum Grundausstattung, 2 fette Kakerlaken gesichtet und gekillt.Kein persönlicher Empfang, keine Info über Funktionsweise der air condition, elektrischen Geräte, Müllentsorgungssymbol etc. Nur 1 Schlüssel für 2 Personen. Haustür lässt sich nur mit Internet (Roaming) öffnen. Also immer für ausreichend Akku sorgen! Für die Schlafcouch fehlen Laken und Decken. Insgesamt eine Katastrophe und für 2 Personen definitiv zu eng, wenig Stauraum kein Kleiderschrank. Die Spiegel an den Wänden täuschen nur Größe vor

N'y allez pas!

Tout d'abord, à l'arrivée nous avons dû appeler pour avoir le code de la porte d'entrée. Après nous avons bien trouvé les clefs dans la boîte. Quelle arrivée épouvantable decouvrant un appartement humide et dans un couloir de passage sans véritable fenêtre sauf une toute petite dans le salon et une autre dans la chambre sans véritable accès, puisque parler de "chambre" serait un euphémisme ! Nous avons immédiatement envoyé un mail aux gérants qui ont répondu rapidement proposant, suite aux différentes photos envoyées des dalles cassées dans la salle de bain, des plinthes défoncées, sales, la porte d'entrée rongée par l'humidité, pas d'amoire, le semblant de mini penderie détachée du mur auquel elle aurait dû être scellée, le mur de la chambre décrépit, etc., de venir "réparer" cela pendant notre séjour. Vous imaginez bien que nous avions mieux à faire que d'attendre un pseudo arrangement, je ne sais comment, de tous les problèmes sus cités. Voilà, en somme, quelques points bien désagréables auxquels nous avons dû faire face lors de notre séjour.
