A newly renovated studio is now a monthly rental only. 1 Bedroom located in the heart of Shem Creek just over the bridge in Mt. Pleasant. The unit has a queen size bed, a modern living area that is separated from bedroom. Office chair and power stand up desk. A full bath and kitchen area. A complete renovation of the property, brand new furnishings, great outdoor space and the proximity to great views, activities and food make this the perfect vacation get away. Enjoy a book on the private outdoor patio or take a bike ride to one of the great restaurants near by. This property is located a block from the waters of Shem Creek and you can rent kayaks and paddle boards from a vendor right at the water’s edge. Within a 3 block radius there are 12 restaurants and bars, 2 coffee shops, a beverage super store, a farmers market, and 2 antique malls. The heart of downtown Charleston is a 12 minute drive and the beach at Sullivan's Island is a bike ride away. The Historic district of the Old Village is walking distance and offers many beautiful antebellum homes, several nice shops and a first class restaurant.

This is a good spot for a single or a couple. It’s in the middle of everything and there is easy access to the beaches and to downtown. Joe is very responsive and a nice guy. The property was also dog friendly, which was very important to us. We would come back in a minute.

Great Location!

Awesome stay!!

I stayed at this property for about 6 weeks and absolutely loved it. Everything was great, Joe was a great and responsive host, and the location was perfect! If I'm ever in Charleston again, I will be staying here.

Perfect location

This little studio is just perfect for one or two people. It’s cozy and modern with everything you need and pet friendly. It’s in a great neighborhood that you can walk or ride your bike around to many restaurants and parks. There’s a lovely patio area to sit outside. It’s a short drive to the beach or downtown Charleston. I enjoyed my stay.

Great winter getaway

I stayed at Joe's cottage for 10 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed it. He has a small number of cottages in the area, and a lot of people are repeat visitors, for good reason. Nice accommodations, great location, and very friendly/helpful host. Thanks, Joe. See you next year.

Adorable Cottage

Travel Job Stay

Joe’s place worked out very well for me and my dog. The location is very close to just about anything you could want- the beach, restaurants, weekly farmer’s market, etc. Also just a short trip across the bridge to downtown.

Outstanding!

I greatly enjoyed my stay at the studio with my dog. The cottage is attractively furnished & decorated with a comfortable bohemian vibe. Everything was fresh and clean. The kitchen appliances are great, & Joe (the owner) said he’ll be adding some essential utensils. There’s even an outside grill! The furnishings, including the memory foam bed, are all very comfortable, & there are plenty of pillows & extra blankets. The bathroom has lots of towels, a hairdryer, & bountiful hot water. Cleaning appliances & basic cleaning supplies are provided. The internet is fast & dependable. The HVAC unit works very well, but I kept the two, small, unscreened bedroom & bath windows & front/back doors open to enjoy the beautiful weather. The small living room window doesn’t open, but Joe said he might replace the windows with larger ones. The lovely fenced, private, back patio is shaded by a big tree. Pets can safely explore it without worries of escape. The neighborhood is safe, clean, & walkable with little noise from nearby Rt. 703. There are at least five groceries within 10 minutes. For boaters, there’s a public dock within two blocks. There’s more than a month’s worth of culture, nature, & history within an easy 15-to-30-minute drive! Lastly but certainly not least, Joe is an exceptional host. He is very responsive & takes great care of his properties. I would gladly book the studio again, & I would highly recommend Joe’s properties to anyone. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!!

Another excellent stay!

This is our second time staying here, this time for 33 nights. It is a great cottage in a perfect area, close to everything, very walkable and bikeable. We wanted to book the same month for 2024 but sadly, someone booked before we could.

Great location

Easy walk to all Shem creek has to offer! Quick trip to the beaches and downtown Charleston. Joe is a very personable and responsive host! Definitely enjoyed are stay!

Location, value, amenities, host -- EXCELLENT

I stayed in Joe’s Shem Creek Studio for over a month, and it met or exceeded every expectation. I was able to work remotely and had a great base for exploring Mount Pleasant, Charleston, and surrounding locations. The place is pretty much exactly like the photos. The full-size washer and dryer and the kitchenette were really handy. Joe and his wife are attentive, gracious hosts. Since I was traveling with my dog, I found the TWO outdoor areas to be a real plus. The studio is located in a very nice neighborhood, and I felt very safe taking multiple walks a day, even after sunset. You have access to a number of restaurants and coffee shops. And YES to real cable with live local stations and fast internet! Plus the house in front is available for larger groups. Would love to stay here again.

Lovely Studio in Shem Creek

My wife and I stayed with our two dogs for a month in Joe’s lovely studio. It’s small, but nicely laid out and has a back and front yard for the dogs to run around. And the neighborhood is wonderful to walk around. From the creek to old town Mount Pleasant, it was always fun to walk. And lots of restaurants close by. Joe is very nice and helpful. Went the extra mile and got my wife a desk when she told him she was working from home. Had a great time here!

We absolutely loved the little studio! It was walkable to the cutest coffee shop, pizza place, and Shem Creek seafood restaurants. We loved the dolphins and pelicans at Shem Creek park. We had to leave 10 days early to avoid winter weather, and close on our new house. We are hoping to return soon!
