Maison Citadelle is located in the beautiful nature reserve of the Cevennes, on the border of Gard Provençal and southern Ardèche.

This exclusive home guarantees comfort and diversity in all areas. In the rustic rooms you are stimulated and invited to enjoy culinary dishes, while enjoying a good wine, reading a nice book, or listening to beautiful music.

The garden, divided over different levels, offers opportunities for relaxation. Each terrace is special for its own atmosphere, temperature and pleasant facilities. You can think of areas with natural shade, or places for sun lovers.

The area offers various options: from hiking and cycling tours with beautiful views, culinary restaurants and city trips, to the many romantic villages.

Maison Citadelle is located in the beautiful nature reserve Cevennes, on the border of the Gard Provencal and South Ardèche. The impressive and comfortable house with delightful garden, spread over different levels, offering views over the surrounding green mountains, is 1100 km from Utrecht.

At the end of the 18th century / beginning of the 19th century this region was the scene of flourishing silk and the mining industry. Maison Citadelle is located in an old mining complex. After the closure of the mines, the buildings were inhabited for some time and, for a short period of vacancy, all buildings were converted into homes with a personal character. Maison Citadelle is therefore a characteristic industrial building, where the original atmosphere has been preserved as much as possible.

Maison Citadelle guarantees comfort. With a ceiling (at the highest point) of no less than 6 meters, with original cast iron trusses, the house gives an extremely large and spacious character. The house is fully equipped and is divided into a front and back house. The front house is furnished as a lounge / sitting area and in the back house are the kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and a work room. In the secret annex you will also find a mezzanine, which offers the opportunity for relaxation in various areas. In addition, there are also 2 desks, which you can use. From the mezzanine you have access to the (top) terrace via a walkway.

The delightful garden, largely surrounded by (chestnut) trees, stands for peace and privacy, but is nevertheless in contact with the outside world through the grand view, both close by and far away. The garden is spread over three levels and offers a view of the green mountainous surroundings. The different terraces offer enough space to relax and enjoy the sun, peace and nature.


COMFORT (Front and back)
Maison Citadelle guarantees comfort. The industrial house with its no less than 3 meters high windows, fireplace, underfloor heating and views of the colorful garden is architecturally special.
The house is divided into a front and back house, where the front house is furnished as a lounge / sitting area with the fireplace and where the back of the house offers space for the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. In the secret annex you will also find a mezzanine, which offers the opportunity for relaxation in various areas. There is a nice seat where you can enjoy a beautiful book from the collection. You can also enjoy fine music thanks to the special acoustics in the house. There is a qualitative audio installation (with internet radio) available. A grand piano is available for the piano lover and practitioner.

Both in the back house and on the mezzanine are also two pleasant desks for those who combine the stay with the performance of (still some) activities. The digital infrastructure is available for this.
From the mezzanine you can reach the (top) garden with the various terraces via a walkway, each with its own atmosphere.

FACILITIES

Wing
For musicians, including pianists, composers and conductors, a grand piano is available in Maison Citadelle, where you can study, compose or prepare for a recital or concert in peace, space and privacy. The Estonia wing is in good condition. The acoustics in the house are very good, which makes the grand piano come into its own.


GARDEN
The garden of Maison Citadelle stands for peace and privacy and yet is in contact with the outside world through the magnificent view. The lovely garden is colorful overgrown for no less than 8 to 9 months a year, is spread over three levels and offers a view of the green surrounding mountains. Each terrace has its own atmosphere, temperature - of course season dependent - and practical possibilities to enjoy the peace, sun and nature.
You can pick herbs in the herb garden and then use it in your own delicious dishes. In the kitchen you will find various culinary books for inspiration.

Wifi, Sound and Vision
The satellite receiver offers Dutch television, German, English and French channels. The audio system in the living room is connected to the internet and offers the possibility of receiving internet radio. You also have the possibility to play both CDs and DVDs. Wi-Fi is available in Maison Citadelle.


Other facilities
The kitchen is situated in the back house and separated from the front house, but at the same time gives a view of the living / sitting / lounge area in the house. The open kitchen is fully equipped, such as a. A built-in gas stove, coffee / espresso machine, microwave, oven, extractor, kettle, toaster, fridge / freezer and dishwasher. Tea towels, tablecloths, cleaning wipes etc. are available.

In the sleeping area you will find a large double bed, which is adjacent to the bathroom with bath, toilet and double sink. Upon arrival you will find the bedroom ready. Extra bed linen and towels are provided.

NB:
1. In the cave, at the entrance of the house, the washer and dryer are situated. There is also an extra fridge and freezer available.

2. Maison Citadelle is not suitable for: disabled and children.

3. There is a garage available for your car.

4. An exercise bike / bicycle is available on the mezzanine.

5. There is a tennis court in the immediate vicinity.
