Family Friendly Comfortable Holiday Home

Crisalgo is situated in the village of Trevone one and a half miles from Padstow. Trevone has two fabulous beaches, a sandy beach for swimming and surfing and a rocky beach with hundreds of rock pools to explore for marine life at low tide.

Trevone caters for visitors who enjoy the sea and countryside. It lies in an area of outstanding natural beauty and offers delightful walks along the coastline and inland. We have a beach and surf shop, farm shop and beach cafe. Tesco has a store situated just outside Padstow.

Padstow offers a wide range of shops and amenities including sailing, fishing trips and some excellent restaurants including Rick Stein's famous seafood restaurant, Bistro and fish and chip shop on the quay.

I have stayed in four other self catering properties in Trevone and this was the nicest. The large living area was light and very comfortable. The position was great as a short cut through the pub garden meant that we could reach the beach without having to walk down the main road. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Excellent location with space for parking. You can easily walk to the beach at Trevone and the sea swimming pool with Harlyn a bit further away but it’s a lovely walk. Lots of amenities at the beach cafe/shop and the local farm shop, all close by. We spent most of our time at Trevone beach but Padstow is also a short drive away.The road the house is on was quiet, the bungalow is really spacious and although is pretty dated, it is great value and has everything you need. Beds were comfy and we all slept really well. I would definitely book again and would highly recommend it.

The hosts were friendly, welcoming, flexible about our arrival time and met us to greet us, give us the keys and show us around. The beach at Trevone is lovely and not too busy. The house is in a good location to access the beach, about a 10 min walk with a bit of a hill but not too bad. It is more spacious than it appears in the pictures and had everything we needed for our self catering holiday. Although we had some cloudier and rainier days, there were some games which our 5 year old loved. There were also some beach accessories like body boards, skimming boards, shovels, nets and buckets which we could borrow, meaning that we didn't have to take our own or buy any. We had a lovely week and would be happy to stay there again.

Crisalgo - A well located quiet holiday residence

Ideal 3 bedroom property, well located and very well equipped. Being disabled my wife found the slope up to the house a little difficult. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend the property to friends and family.

Wonderful house in a fabulous location.

Delightfully unspoilt, prefect, picturesque, Cornish beach with fab walks round the headlands and along the SW Coastal paths. The house was kitted out with everything you would need. The main room was full of light with masses of room and a kitchen area with all mod cons. A 10 minute walk to the beach where visitors of all ages along with families happily engaged in games, surfing, walking, bathing. Everyone smiled and wanted to pass on their greetings as we passed. Such a good place.

Perfect family holiday

This was just the perfect family holiday. Met Robin at the property when we first arrived and he very kindly showed us around and gave us some instructions which was really useful. Robin and Joan also left a gift for us which was much appreciated! Crisalgo is just lovely, clean and comfortable and has everything you need and more. Just a short walk to the beach where we enjoyed some stunning sunsets. Overall a great experience and very highly recommended.

Perfect Holiday

Crisalgo proved to be an inspired choice of holiday property. It ticked all our boxes. Impeccably clean and tidy and we were greeted on arrival by Robin who gave us our property introduction. Everything was on hand and if we needed anything Robin and Joan were at the end of the phone. Our holiday was helped by wonderful weather so we were able to enjoy the delights of Trevone and the other bays together with the cliff walks.. I would highly recommend Crisalgo

Well located and excellently presented

The house is perfectly placed with a pub , cafe and beach in near walking distance. It is also a very reasonable direct walk to Padstow or a very good 5 mile walk around the coastal path. The house has everything you need and is clean and very well looked after. Plenty of space in the house, free wifi, good Tv, games ,garden etc ...I would recommend it highly. Many thanks to Joan and Robin.

Crisalgo - exceptional holiday home!

Crisalgo is a superbly comfortable holiday home. I have stayed there three times now and cannot recommend it highly enough. The tasteful blend of old and new furnishings gives the bungalow an air of quality. The kitchen area is spacious and well-equipped and the owner kindly provided several food items, including a delicious home-made lemon cake! The bathroom and bedrooms are aso of an excellent standard. Although the location is quiet, it provides easy access to the North Cornwall area - and within a few minutes you can be walking along the cliffs or enjoying Trevone Bay. I'm very much looking forward to staying at Crisalgo again sometime in the future.

Lovely Cottage

Nice cottage located in the beautiful village of Trevone. There is a spacious open plan living/dining/kitchen area. Then 3 reasonable size bedrooms which perfectly fit our family with 3 kids (double, twin and single) and family bathroom. Spacious parking area and garden. Bungalow is 5mins walk from the main beach, allbeit down a steep road. There is the wellparc hotel/pub nearby, though we didnt visit. Its also a very short drive to the popular Cornish Arms pub and villages of St Merryn and Town of Padstow. There are many excellent beaches nearby including our personal favourite, Treyarnon (with Trevone beach a close second!)

Crisalgo

Crisalgo is a lovely bungalow in the middle of Trevone village, about half way down the hill and next to the Well Parc pub/hotel. It consists of 3 decent size double bedrooms (1double, 2 singles and 1 single with optional extra pull out bed - which could be a squeeze if required). It has a large open plan lining area consisting of kitchen, dining and lounge areas, there is also an decent size entry hall with extra toilet. Perfect for our family of 5 (2adults 3kids). Facilities are generally excellent and the little welcome bag of a bottle of wine and some local goods was a nice friendly touch. Only minor suggestion the bathroom shower is a little dated and would benefit from a power shower if the the owners which to upgrade. Clearly a minor point. The walk to the beach is about 8mins down a steepish hill which is a long way with heavy bags and beach stuff like surfboards, chairs etc, we generally drove down or went to other local beaches. The walk makes a nice (evening) stroll for those unencumbered. Porthcothan, Treyarnon, Harlyn and Trevone are all excellent picturesque Sandy coves with lifeguards and good surf all within 5-10 minutes drive. Parking at all beaches is about £4-£5 all day. The local town of Padstow is picturesque and bustling centre with a local supermarket and lots of the usual shops round a pretty harbour. All in all were very happy with the accomodation and it’s location.

Ideal Location

Ideally located for a visit to Cornwall. Local pub and beach cafe all within walking distance and very welcoming. Convenient for Padstow and walking the North Cornwall coastal path. Property excellent - nice open-plan living area with all the home comforts you could possibly wish for.

Excellent accommodation in a superb location

The accommodation is very clean and comfortable. It is in an excellent location being only ten minutes walk from Trevone Bay and under five minutes walk from Well Park Hotel which serves good Pub Grub. The owners of Crisolgo could not be more helpful and the Welcome Pack was much appreciated. All our needs were met and would highly recommend this holiday home.

beautiful Trevone

We have had a lovely stay in this comfortable bungalow in beautiful Trevone. The photo's do not do it justice. Joan was the perfect host and the welcome pack was a lovely surprise. We would highly recommend this property for a comfortable stay. Thanks again, The Wright family.

Perfect!

We had a lovely week at Crisalgo. The house was perfect for 4 adults and 1 child. Location was perfect. Only a very short walk to a lovely beach. We were greeted by Robin and Joan had left us some welcome treats that were very much appreciated. We will be back! Thanks for a fab stay.

Robin's family have been connected with Trevone, Padstow and Crugmeer for many generations and therefore the area is very special to him.

Crisalgo was passed to Robin in 2004. Robin and Joan then re-furbished the bungalow to use for themselves, family and friends and also for holiday letting.
