Il Pogetto is a fantastic, stone Tuscan villa on two floors and only 6km away from Panzano. Around the villa there is a large, well maintained garden looking out to fantastic views of the Tuscan countryside. Part of the property is a 12 meters times 6 meters salt water pool, which is surrounded by a sundeck made of light travertine stone. Every position of the property offers you a spectacular view of the beautiful landscape.

Our family had the most fantastic week vacationing at this villa.  The house, pool and property are absolutely beautiful and wonderfully maintained. The views of the surrounding hillsides and vineyards from the Villa were truly spectacular - like a renaissance painting!The house was a perfect fit for our family group, with ample space for our crew of seven adults. All the bedrooms were comfortable and had wonderful views. All the common rooms were amply sized, though we were lucky enough to spend all of our time either poolside or sharing a meal under the spacious exterior pergola, enjoying the incredible views! We arranged for Chianti Cooking Experience to prepare a couple of dinners for us during our stay.  Leopoldo and Olmo made fantastic pizzas, and Paola made one of the most delicious meals of our trip! Alessio was a friendly and responsive host.  We scheduled a tour of his vineyard next door, and sampled their delicious Burrone wines and olive oil.  He made the tour personalized and was even generous enough to share a recipe for one of the delicious compotes we enjoyed with our wine tasting.  We highly recommend a tour if you can fit it into your plans!

Stunning Views!

We have been fortunate to visit Tuscany on several occasions, but never before to this region. Wow! The scenery around Greve and Panzano was just spectacular, and this villa's location - perched at the end of a hill ridge - takes some beating as it offers near 360% views across two valleys. Sunrise and sunset.The villa is sensational. Yes, as we were a mix of adult friends/family we would have benefitted from en-suite rooms, but I'd trade that for the other facilities and location any time! It is supremely comfortable, extremely well equipped (the best we have seen!), and all-round a top-notch villa. Alessio, the neighbouring vineyard owner, doubles as manager and he is excellent. Whatever the owners pay him is not enough! He is there when needed, discreet and out of the way when not. We had a couple of 'routine' issues (tripped fuse, leaking tap, internet outage), and he responded immediately and got them all sorted - with a smile. He even went as far as a 45 min round trip to pick up two of our party whose car had broken down. That's way beyond the call of duty. Oh - and his wine is excellent! What would make this house even better? In truth, not much. 1. Ensuites in more rooms. 2. A ceiling fan on the patio terrace for the one day when the breeze was absent. 3. Nothing!In short, this is a fabulous property, in a fabulous location, with a fabulous manager. Imke - if you are ever promoted to sell, give me a shout!

View of a lifetime!

We loved every minute in this fabulous home. So well appointed with the most comfy beds and an incomparable view. Alessio greeted us at the home and was so helpful and lived just down the road. Had a marvelous wine tasting at his vineyard. Highly recommended. We had cooking lessons in the well equipped kitchen and enjoyed several meals at home (highly recommend Paola at Chianti Cooking Experience). 10/10 and would absolutely go back.

A true Tuscan Villa

The property views are even better in real life. The villa, grounds and pool are well looked after. Amazing stay. Just a note for those that may need to know…all the bedrooms are upstairs. There is one bathroom downstairs and 2 upstairs. Alessio was a fantastic host. We loved our stay! Thank you

Unbelievable Views

The web site does not do the villa justice. The views are priceless It was the perfect place to celebrate our 50th anniversary with family. Alessio, who manages the villa, goes out of his way to assist guests. He even arranged for a mechanic to help with my car issue. I would highly recommend a tasting of Alessio’s wines.

Great Family Trip

Our family of 6 adults stayed at this lovely villa for a week in September. The views from this property are spectacular! The table under the pergola was a great place to start the day with coffee and end with a glass of wine. The pool area was quit refreshing after a day of sightseeing, and the seating area was great for before dinner drinks and appetizers. I was able to pick some vegetables from the garden which was really nice, as we cooked our dinners every night. The Villa was so comfortable that we ate our dinners at the house and just enjoyed talking and relaxing. Alessio, the property manager was so kind and helpful. We were able to do a tasting of his family wine at the festival in Greve - we even are having some shipped to us. Alessio was very attentive to all our needs - we really enjoyed meeting him. We had Chianti Cooking Experience come do a Tuscan BBQ for us at the villa one night, which I would recommend. Thank-you Imke and Alessio! Hope to come back in the future.

A special place in Tuscany

Our two week stay in early May was marked by cool and rainy weather. Alessio (the wonderful property manager) turned on the heat and we were very happy and comfortable in this marvelous space. The views of the "Conca d'Oro" with it's great chianti estates are unbelievabley beautiful in any weather. We enjoyed two weeks of non stop visits to magical Tuscan places including Florence, Greve, Panzano, Passignano, Certaldo Alto, San Gimignano, Siena, Villa a Sesto (Michellen star restaurant "La Bottega del 30") and many other wonderful places. We painted watercolors outside when possible and inside when not. We enjoyed cooking on the great 6 burner Weber Grill and in the well equipped gourmet kitchen with all modern appliances. This is a magical place with many song birds including Cuckoos!. We loved every moment there.

Paradise

All the pictures you see online that look they could be fake in Tuscany? Nope it's completely real. This is a storybook setting. Our host was wonderful, the house perfect for us and the location stunning. We spent most days leaving the property to go wine tasting or site seeing but were fortunate to decided to spend one day enjoying the pool, gardens and relaxing and we wish we had more time to do that. I think the only thing I would say is you should consider getting a car that is not low to the ground b/c the roads are dirt and rock and it would be easier to navigate with a taller vehicle. We hope to go back. Also Alessio was great and his family wine is delicious. Definitely schedule a tasting with him.

Blissful Week in Tuscany

After traveling through Rome, Venice and Florence, our group of 4 adults (two couples) enjoyed a blissful week in Tuscany at this beautiful property. Alessio, the property manager, greeted us and provided us with exceptional service all week including a welcome bottle of his excellent Chianti Classico. The villa is in a magnificent quiet hilltop position outside of the village of Panzano with gorgeous views over vineyards and olive groves. The property is well maintained and contains all the creature comforts including modern bathrooms/kitchen, good mattresses, sufficient air conditioning in the bedrooms, fantastic outdoor lounging and dining spaces. and a beautiful pool. All the furnishings are in excellent condition, We look forward to our return. Grazie Mille Grazie !

"Spettacolare" Week in Chianti!

Our group of six adults (three couples) visited for a special trip the week of Easter 2022. We booked the property based on the view (unbelievable), the house lay out (perfect for 6 people) and location in Chianti - all were true to the listing. The house is located down a long dirt road, but because it is at the end, there are no other cars driving by and the view is 300 degrees around the property. The grill, kitchen and eating areas were fantastic for nights cooking in and the private chef we hired had all he needed (recommend Chianti Cooking Experience). Panzano is a close 20 minute drive (visit the famous butcher Dario Checcini). We also enjoyed our wineries tour by MariaLuisa with My Tuscan Wine and Tours. Diego next door gave us a tour and tasting at Ca' di Pesa, which we recommend and the house manager, Alessio, gave us a bottle of the delicious wine made from the grapes of the property. He was a wonderful host and was responsive to my WhatsApp texts and inquiries. We had a couple of problems with the outdoor heater and clothes dryer, but nothing that could spoil our wonderful week in this villa. We can't wait to come back!

Beautiful rustic luxury with views to die for

The property is amazing, quirky yet luxurious and you cannot beat the views of the tuscan countryside and the amazing sunsets from the balcony. We arrived early after a drive from Pisa and were able to check in which was a nice surprise. The villa is very secluded about 15 mins drive from Panzano. It is equipped with everything you could think of including a gym with cardio and weights machines. We went with our children to relax by the pool and for this purpose it was perfect. BBQ'ing every night and evening swims with the kids were a highlight. Allessio the contact on site was amazing and provided us with great wine from his vineyard which is located close to the villa. The Chianti Classico Reserva 2013 was amazing!!! Nothing to fault with this villa and everyone we dealt with to book and check in/out.

Wenn man ein Bild von der Toskana im Kopf hat- hier wird es Realität! Das Haus ist mit viel Liebe bis ins kleinste Detail zurechtgemacht und lässt keine Wünsche offen: perfekte Bäder, super bequeme Betten und eine Küchenausstattung, die mit jeder Gourmet-Küche mithalten kann. Aber absolut grandios ist die Lage inmitten von Weinbergen und Olivenhainen- die Aussicht von der Terrasse oder von einer der vielen Pool-Liegen ist unübertroffen! Ach ja, der Pool: absolut perfekt in Ausmaßen, Tiefe (ca. 1,50m) und Zustand! Der idyllische Ort Panzano mit einer kleinen Auswahl an guten Restaurants ist in 8 Minuten erreicht. Der Ansprechpartner/ Verwalter vor Ort ist extrem aufmerksam, hilfsbereit und stets ansprechbar. Ein rundum gelungener Urlaub- gerne jederzeit wieder.

Gorgeous!

We had a wonderful time on this property! We were two families with kids who stayed for a week. The house was beautiful and clean. The property and the views were AMAZING. This place has AC which was very much needed while we were there - it was in the middle of a heat wave and we would have been miserable without it. Pool is beautiful, lizards running all over property which kids loved to chase, we ate vegetables out of the garden and went next door to Burrone/Ca' di Pesa and sampled wine and olive oil - seriously what more can you ask for?! Bonus - it's an old stone house and when you're in the bedrooms you can't hear anything else - including your own loud kids. Great for a good night's rest. Definitely stay here!!

A house out of the movies!

Our large family (4 kids, 2 adults) had a fabulous time in this villa! Every room and every outdoor area was beautiful! The new pool was amazing and was used often. We really enjoyed relaxing on the covered patio and even eating meals outside. The property caretaker was very friendly and we enjoyed a wine tasting from his vineyard. We picked food from the garden and used the gym. We took 3 private tours to various cities and also used our rental car to visit other nearby cute Tuscan towns.

Unbelievable Views! And so spacious!

Oh my. The pictures do not do the villa justice! It is spectacular! Sitting out and enjoying the view was a constant relaxing event. The villa is so spacious! The bedrooms are huge and so comfortable. Everything is provided! And the dinning room a delight. The living area has a great view and a terrific wood burning fireplace for chilly evenings. The kitchen has everything you would need. The caretakers are so attentive! Anything you need, they are there instantly! It is a beautiful place and we will come back again.

Awesome!

we had a fantastic time. honestly the place is more spectacular than the pictures even give it credit for. the pool was awesome... landscaping beautiful. there is a separate gym which was a nice resource. we were generously given access to a great vegetable garden, the bocce court was great. but the view takes the cake... absolutely stunning. the proximity to panzano (7-10 min drive) where there are restaurants and a grocery store was super convenient. easy access throughout tuscany, and about an hour to both florence and siena. the house itself was great... there were only 4 of us, but it could have comfortably slept 6 or 8. the caretakers / neighbors the burrone's were fantastic... two houses away and very present / willing to be helpful. our gps couldn't find the house so alex burrone met us, which was great (he also very generously gave us a tour of his vineyards). the rest of the family cleaned the pool and watered the stunning landscaping daily, so they were always around if anything came up. we had chefs come in to cook (i recommend it) and the kitchen and facilities were more than adequate. i would echo the other review that the road in is a bit of an adventure... the last 2.5km are unpaved and pretty hilly at points. but we got used to it and it was totally manageable. and again, the house was totally worth it. the smit's were also very available over email leading into the trip. you won't regret a visit to this stunning property! and tuscany was fantastic. i would certainly recommend this house to a friend looking for something in the region. thank you.

Breathtaking property -- blissfully peaceful, private and energizing

This home is incredibly beautiful and perfectly set up for a group or family to relax and enjoy the opportunities around Tuscany. It was very hard to leave to go to some of the region's destinations -- we all wanted to just hang out here instead. The bedrooms and bathrooms all worked great and for the most part they all were comparable. Everyone was comfortable. Public rooms were beautifully appointed and comfortable. Many gorgeous settings and places to hang out and talk, enjoy the scenery and cocktail. We brought in a chef one night to cook -- and he loved the set -up -- kitchen, pantry were fantastic. Poolside setting was divine! One of the most picturesque panoramic views I have ever seen! The only heads up I would provide -- as it was unexpected -- is the final ride in from the Panzano road. It is a bumpy, rough and dusty gravel access road. Nothing serious, completely manageable and quite a standard experience as we learned in other places in the area, but go in knowing what to expect. And the reward at the end of the road is without question worth the ride. And the owner and local caretakers could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Really lovely people -- easily matching the setting. I would DEFINITELY return to this location again and again and again!
