Lake Nantahala is the second highest lake east of the Mississippi River and is beautiful in summer, spring, fall, or winter. Lake Nantahala was mentioned as one of the top ten cleanest man made lakes in the world. And because only five percent of its shoreline can be built out, the lake is not crowded and you’ll enjoy the true beauty of the lake and mountains.

The Nantahala area is popular for whitewater rafting, kayaking, river tubing, canoeing, camping, fishing, mountain hiking and biking, and snow skiing. The Cherokee Indian Reservation & Casino is also located nearby.

We were in town for a wedding and the whole family stayed, including our dogs. The home/cabin is very comfortable and homey. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it!

Our experience with this host left a lot to be desired. We were in town for a wedding, and our friends had rented a cabin a few doors down. About 45 minutes before checkout, the bride came to our cabin in a panic and asked to shower because their water wasn’t working. The host immediately sent us a screenshot from his exterior camera and questioned who she was and why she was there. I understand the purpose of security cameras, but receiving a photo and being questioned about a brief daytime visit felt intrusive and unnecessary. We checked out on time, followed the instructions, and left the house in good condition. While we were on our way to the wedding, the host sent several texts and eventually called asking if the front door was left open. Since he had already shown he could see the door through his camera, it was unclear why he didn’t simply check the footage before escalating the situation. The interaction again became confrontational and unprofessional. In addition, the hot tub was advertised but only 82F when we arrived, so we couldn’t use it. The host acknowledged draining it the day before and said it needed 24 hours to reheat. Instead of apologizing, he sent a photo showing it had reached 101F well after we checked out.He continued messaging and eventually did apologize after confirming with the other host that their water was out and that we were telling the truth. I noticed 6 different people who were not in your party of nine entering the cabin at 7 AM. When I asked you who they were you told me they were friends visiting. You did not mention to me that they were using the shower and bathroom facilities. I then noticed that they where using my green towels from the cabin and walking away with my towels. You were also given instructions to close and lock the exterior doors upon leaving. You left the front door completely open and unlocked. The Hot tub was working just fine and I showed you that the temperature was 101 degrees. I will not recommend you as a guest when you leave a rental property and leave the front door completely open and unlock.

Fall driving trip

We had a wonderful stay. The cabin is beautiful and spacious with all amenities. Enjoyed the front balcony and grill and will be coming back if in the area.

Great Get Away, Beautiful Lake

Great cabin and beautiful location. The lake is awesome. Mountain roads are slow going the last few miles to the cabin, but worth it once you get there.

Beautiful Mountain Retreat

Great property for family..lovely views of mountain and lake. Deer and other interesting wildlife could be viewed from the wrap around deck. Owner was very nice and accommodating. Great stay!

Beautiful home with great porch and living spaces to enjoy friends and family. Kitchen is well appointed to making cooking for a large group easy. House is a HIKE from the water so plan to drive up and down to the closest designated parking area.

Wonderful getaway!

Oscar's home was wonderful. Very clean, beautiful views, peaceful and quiet. Just what we were looking for. He was very knowledgeable about the area and was more than willing to let us know about all the great spots to visit. We miss it already!

Charming get away in the mountains

Very well equipped! A gem in the mountains with access (10min walk) to the lake; my kids loved the fishing/boating pier and I loved the quiet surroundings, away from the hustle of city life. The new mattresses are great to sleep on; my entire family agreed.

Great stay at Bearadise!

From the moment we checked in, we felt relaxed and at home. The cabin is amazingly stocked and has such a welcoming and cozy decor. We spent our time hiking, boating on the lake, day tripping to Dollywood, and much more. The location is very remote and town is pretty sleepy. I suggest you stock up on food and essentials before arriving. Overall, great stay! We will be back for sure!

We had a wonderful stay at Bearadise in the Nantahala Mountains. The cabin was spotless, cozy, and very well equipped for an extended stay, everything we needed was provided. The surrounding area is stunningly beautiful, and we’d love to return.A quick note for future guests: the drive in can be a little tricky. Our GPS led us past the correct entrance and toward a questionable, steep road that we thankfully avoided. Since there’s no cell service once you get close, make sure you know the route ahead of time.Once at the cabin, everything was easy and convenient. The high-speed Wi-Fi worked flawlessly, and having a landline was reassuring. Overall, Bearadise was a peaceful, comfortable retreat, and we recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy the beauty of the Nantahala Mountains.

Bearadise is the best!

The home is gorgeous and well equipped for any need imaginable. The setting is dream like, very private on a large wooded lot and a short walk to lake access, dock and beautiful Nantahala Lake. We had daily provisions with us so we didn’t really need to leave the property and were content to enjoy the immediate surroundings. However, the area has much to offer from previous visits in hiking, rafting, scenic drives and waterfall viewing. Host was accessible to answer any questions. We couldn’t have been more pleased.

Jan i am glad you enjoyed your stay at Bearadise cabin. I try to have everything a person would need while on vacation. We now have Starlink Satellite available for every guest, so you will have a very good WIFI signal. Hopefully you enjoyed the beautiful fall colors in the Smoky Mountains.

Wonderful weekend with family!

I was happy upon entering Bearadise to find it very clean. Kitchen was well stocked. Beds very comfortable. A lovely mountain cabin and very relaxing. Although, we arrived safely, directions to cabin were challenging . I would definitely suggest arriving before dark, if not familiar with mountain driving. Oscar was attentive and checked in with us to see that things were going well. Great weekend! Loved every minute from bonfire outside to fireplace inside!

Greatest Of All Time (Written by my 10 year old son) It was amazing everything was so clean. They had everything from a toaster oven to a pull out bed. The community dock was so big and water was so deep and cool. The overall view was so beautiful you couldn’t believe how breathtaking the view was. You need to go there but not before we come back for more.

Beautiful clean home in a beautiful lake community

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bearadise. The house was super clean and provided everything our family needed to cook our meals there, sleep peacefully and just enjoy the mountains. The local town had a grocery and pharmacy for anything you may have forgotten. The drive up was fun. A few miles on gravel roads that are well maintained. Accessible by any suv or truck. We traveled to Nantahala’s Outdoor center. About. 45 min drive through beautiful country. Saw a few waterfalls in the way!

outside not taken care of

The Cabin was Beautiful on the inside, however we could not enjoy any of the outside because of unkept property. Gras was very high and also hornets nest was all over the deck.

Thank you Julie for stating that the cabin was beautiful inside. We keep this cabin extra clean and make sure you have all the items that you need for your vacation. Unfortunately the day you arrived the person that cuts the grass could not cut it that day, but he came the next day to cut it. The small hornets nest was removed immediately as soon as you told me.

Be Ready To Hike

This property has everything you would look for in a rental. All appliances worked other than the ice cube dispenser. It made ice but we we removed the ice collected and poured the ice into a bowl. A matter of convenience. Be aware, this property is not for the faint hearted or those with ankle, knee and hip problems. Plenty of steps.

Great Cabin ... in the Mountains

Bearadise is a very well appointed and comfortable cabin. As some of the other posts have noted - it's a bit "out of the way" in a small lake-side community that is accessed via a gravel road. We had no issues getting to the cabin and the property owner provided us a map and quite a bit of information in advance. The property is very clean, neat and comfortable and could easily accommodate 6 - 8 people. Our trip was a just a weekend get-away and there were only "us 2". The lake is a short walk away and is beautiful. As I'm a fly-fisher, the cabin is relatively close to the Nantahala River. We enjoyed the privacy; wireless worked great. Again, as others have noted - we had zero cell-service, but it wasn't an issue - we just connected to the wireless and were good-to-go.

Cliff thank you for your 5 star review. As you mentioned the cabin is well appointed and comfortable, a great get away from the daily grind. I always make sure that the cabin is clean and neat for all the guest and I try to have everything a renter would need for a great vacation. I'm glad you were able to walk to the lake, docks, and park area and see this beautiful lake up close. As you said the Nantahala River is a short drive away to go fly fishing or picnicking.

Hummingbird paradise

Beautiful cabin with a wonderful furnished deck. The views were spectacular and the cabin was just as described. The communication with the host was very good. We had our family with us and had plenty of room. Our only concern was the location is not convenient to go back and forth to activities. Everything is about 45 minutes away with intense driving. The neighborhood roads are gravel and please do not follow your GPS up the exit. (my mustang ended up on the side of the road) there are signs telling you it is the exit....please pay attention to this. We would definitely stay here again but leave my mustang at home and be prepared to spend more time in the house enjoying all of the beauty found right there.
