Cornwallis House is a grand and charming two storey Queenslander style house with a contemporary and stylish interior, creating an atmosphere of comfort and relaxation.

Conveniently located on Sydney's north west doorstep in the "lowlands" region of the upper Hawkesbury Valley - a little pocket of paradise only 4 minutes drive from Windsor and just over a 1 hour drive from Sydney's CBD.

The surrounding area is a flat rural picturesque patchwork of citrus orchards, small agricultural farms, turf farms, equestrian stud farms and polo fields.

Cornwallis House was designed with entertaining in mind. There are two levels of outdoor space, upstairs and downstairs, with multiple outdoor settings and places to relax and dine outdoors. It's perfect either for small groups who like to stay in and cook for themselves, spending quality time together relaxing with a few drinks over long lazy meals , or for a larger event such as a wedding which can be held in the downstairs function room or outdoors on the lawn.

We allow guests to invite extra family or friends to visit during their stay, however there are limits and venue hire fees may apply, depending on the numbers and your requirements. Please ask us about this when you enquire, and remember that honesty is the best policy.

HAPPY KIDS, HAPPY PARENTS, HAPPY HOLIDAY.....
For the little ones we have, scooters, hammocks, acres of grounds and lawn for outdoor games and an orchard full of orange trees to pick fruit from (in season).
In summer we have "slip n slides" and toddlers wading pools. We also have loads of children's DVDs and board games and toys for babies and younger children.
For teenagers there's good internet access and free wifi, 2 person hammocks to lie in while you play your games m listen to your music or chat, indoor and outdoor games and heaps of fun sporting and adventure places to go and things to do in the nearby area.

WEDDINGS:

We've been doing weddings for over 10 years and are able to offer couples an affordable, flexible, and unique DIY venue that they can use to create an event just the way they want it, something that will reflect who they are as a couple. We're well set up for outdoor country garden weddings and events.

WEDDING & EVENT PACKAGE:
We have a Package which includes venue hire for the wedding or event, together with furniture and equipment and loads of extras. It's sold separately to the accommodation. Please ASK US to send you more information.

The package works on a DIY / "DRY HIRE" basis - i.e. we provide the venue, facilities, space, furnishings, equipment and just about everything else you'd need - and you hire your own choice of wedding suppliers, saving you money and giving you the freedom to choose who you want to work with. You arrange for the setting up, decorating, styling etc. to create the wedding YOU want.

There's a large downstairs function room (140sqm in size) which seats up to 90 guests for a sit-down meal or 120 for a stand-up cocktail style event, and it also has an indoor dance floor. Or, alternatively you can hire a marquee to set up on the lawns if you think you'll need extra under cover space.

The cost depends on the number of guests you'll be having at the event, and starts from 60 guests for $5,800 including gst, increasing in increments through to up to 300 guests. (Price are subject to increase and valid as at 20 November 2023, until further notice).

We also do Elopement and Micro Wedding packages for smaller numbers of guests, however usually only on midweek days, or on weekends during the quieter times of the year, so if this is what you're after please contact us and we'll give you more details.

SUPPLIERS: As the package is based on a DIY basis, you are able to BYO alcohol and to use your own suppliers, or alternatively we can do a full service, or partial service, arrangement if you don't want to do it all yourselves. Ask us more about this.

We can recommend some local suppliers for you to contact who have all done successful weddings at Cornwallis House recently.

VIEWINGS: You're welcome to view the property before making a booking. All you need to do is contact us to make an appointment.

NOISE CURFEW: We are flexible with the start time for events on the property, however, like most similar properties in the area, there is a strict noise curfew of 10:30 p.m. when all loud music and loud party noise must stop.

PLEASE NOTE: -
- Cornwallis House has a NO SMOKING policy (inside the house)..
- Due to the lack of fencing the property is not suitable for pets to stay, however if
having a wedding on site and you want to have your "fur baby" there for the
ceremony we're OK with this.
- We don't accept bookings for pre-wedding "bucks" weekends or "boys weekends".
- There is river access for watercraft such as canoes, kayaks and dinghies, however
please note there is a speed limit on the river of 4 knots, so no jetboats, power
boats, water skiing, and so on. A boat ramp (not concreted) is currently under
re-construction (as at November 2023) and is due for completion shortly.
