McCloud House

Charming, comfortable and cozy little room with great amenities. Perfect little balcony and excellent location for beach and jetty walks plus meals within easy walking distance. Very relaxing!

Absolutely amazing location

Julie and Bob were wonderful hosts. The McCloud House was wonderfully updated while maintaining most of the original character. The location couldn’t possibly be better. We enjoyed our daily walks on the beach and/or swims. It was nice not having to drive to the beach. We really enjoyed the small town. It’s much more charming then the hustle and bustle of Adelaide. We wish we could rate it higher than 5 stars! Thank you Julie and Bob

Exceptional property

I can highly recommend this property. It’s exceptional. Julie is great and the property has everything you need for a beach side stay. I will definitely be staying here again!

We just loved it, big comfy room with a view with everything you need 😍

We had a wonderful stay, Julie was very accomodating and the room was awesome and very clean & tidy with such character. I have already recommend to my friends & family and we will definately be back again. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Fantastic location

McCloud House is situated opposite a very picturesque beach at Port Norlunga. Our accommodation was excellent with everything you could think of supplied by the owner. A gem of an apartment.

Lovely place - spacious apartment with view.

Upstairs apartment with great view from generous balcony. Spacious living quarters and bathroom, a mix of modern facilities plus olde-worlde charm and character. Kitchenette looked good enough to stay for a week, but we only stayed overnight.

Excellent property

We loved our studio apartment, the location was perfect with views of the ocean. We were made most welcome by the owners who live on site and the studio was clean comfortable and fabulously furnished. The owners provided us with tea/ coffee, home made biscuits and a nice bottle of wine. We highly recommend this property to others as a great place to stay. We will definitely stay here again.

Absolutely fabulous !!

We arrived on a wet and windy night and were welcomed by a blazing fire and warm and cosy apartment. The original Art Nouveau features have been faithfully retained and complemented by modern fittings in the kitchen and bathroom, making the studio very stylish and functional. We were also delighted to find a complimentary bottle of good red wine, plunger coffee, a range of fine teas, and bread, cereal and jam. A great verandah with ocean views topped it off. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this place as a perfect little getaway for couples - all within 15 minutes drive of McLaren Vale. We will definitely be back.

Perfect Anniversary Getaway

A beautiful, charming, ideal getaway location for 1 night or 1 week. Perfect location for eating, touring, snorkeling, lazing on the beach or lazing at the many available eateries. Beautiful, clean, high standard accommodation. A true secret getaway. Could not fault anything. And the view from our balcony ...........

I am an Adelaide local and I consider McLoud House the best kept secret. Perfect location on the Esplanade and a short stroll away from lovely coffee shops. The room is very comfortable with ceiling fans, air conditioning and a big bathroom. Highly recommend for international or interstate visitors even people from the area who just want a little getaway.

Thank you Julie for making us feel welcome and at home in your beautiful appartment overlooking the jetty! Julie went to great effort to make us and our little girl comfortable with above mentioned yummy biscuits and homemade jam, champagne and a cosy corner set up for our 5year old. Such a lovely experience. It's not often a property exceeds your expectations - but McLoud House did just that. The property's location is second to none - with vineyards on one side and the sea to the other. This, not so little studio, is filled with all the comforts from home, complete with fresh flowers, magazines and the yummiest home made anzac biscuits  nice touch Julie! Its situated in a cute little town with a bundle of character. We felt entirely removed from the hustle bustle and although we reside in Sydney look forward to returning one day. W absolutely LOVED it there.Tip: although the sunsets would warm the coldest creature, bring your jackets outside of the summer period.

We arrived at McCloud House weary and tied, the owners made a big effort to make us feel welcome, the apartment was filled with those little extra inclusions that were not expected-such as homemade biscuits, wine and much more. Thanks so much! we were able to recharge with a lovely relaxing bath and very welcome comfy bed. PS the views are magnificent it doesn't get any better.
