Orwell Cabin on Sunrise Lake w/ Private Dock & BBQ

From the owner: "We loved hosting your group, Mike, and would love to have you back!"

Hi Elizabeth, thank you for your review. We’re glad you enjoyed the location and the views, but we're sorry to hear that some aspects of your stay didn’t meet your expectations. The homeowner wanted to address the concerns you raised:-The cleanliness of the home is a top priority, and we apologize if it fell short. We wish you had reached out to the Guest Contact during your stay if there were any issues you needed addressed. We would have done everything we could to resolve them immediately so that you could enjoy the home.-The shoes and paint cans were stored in a closet near the entrance, not the pantry.-We weren’t aware that two of the patio umbrellas were broken, as they were closed and tied up. After your feedback, one has been replaced, and the other has been removed. Going forward, the property manager will inspect the umbrellas during each turnover to prevent this from happening again.-We're sorry you experienced issues with the water pressure. A brand new filtration system was installed just this summer, and while we didn’t anticipate any issues so soon, we’ve since replaced it to ensure consistent water pressure. We’ve also instructed our cleaners to check the water pressure before guests' arrival. We appreciate your feedback so we can continue to improve and help this homeowner provide guests with the 5-star service they are known for. We hope to host you again soon!

Hi Megan, we want our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we apologize if you experienced some issues during your trip. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:- We want our guests to arrive at a vacation home that is 100% ready for their stay, so we take the cleanliness of our property seriously. We’ve talked with our cleaning crew to ensure this issue does not recur for future travelers. - We wish you had reached out to us about this issue during your stay. We would've been more than happy to send our cleaning crew to resolve your concerns and make your stay more comfortable.- We do have heat pumps and portable heaters in all the rooms that can be adjusted by the guests. I share these details in the email I send to welcome guests during the cold season. - We do provide enough blankets for our guests on the property, however, had you shared that it was because you were chilly, we would have shared how to increase the heat.- While we regret our home was not up to your expectations, we’re happy to share that our most recent guests reported no issues. - We truly go above and beyond for our guests and are confident that future guests will have a wonderful stay!

Hi Mareena, I’m happy to hear you enjoyed the location on the lake and having private dock access with kayaks! We want all of our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we're sorry that you experienced some issues during your trip. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following: - We use a cleaning service to have the home professionally cleaned before each guest's arrival. We wish you had reached out to the Guest Contact during your stay if there were any issues you needed to be addressed. We would have done everything we could to resolve them immediately so that you could enjoy the home. - I was at the home when you arrived to check in because property maintenance was completed that morning and took longer than expected and I was there to ensure that the home was clean after the maintenance team had left. I would have called you ahead of time to alert you but I was having cell phone issues. Since I was there when you arrived, I'm happy I could walk you through the home and show you the entire property. - Given the remote location of this property, water is supplied by a well and there can be intermittent pressure issues that we can't always control. I apologize for the inconvenience. We are exploring the possibility of augmenting the water pressure, but often water pressure is just not great in rural areas. - We recently checked and there are no water leaks in any of the sinks. If you were encountering a leak in every sink, you may not have been closing it properly, since we have not heard this particular complaint from any other guests. However, we wish you would have reached out during your stay so we could have quickly resolved your concerns. - I kindly asked you all not to sit on the sofa backs and to please be gentle with the furniture since I recently had to replace two sections of the sofa due to previous guests. We have also not received any feedback before about the curtains not working properly so we will take a closer look. I'm wondering how exactly the curtains may have fallen off during your stay. While we do regret our home was not up to your expectations, we are happy to share that no issues were reported by the guests who stayed the following weekend. We are always looking for ways to improve the guest experience and your feedback is an important part of that process. We hope to host you again in the future!

Hi Paul, we take it seriously when guests let us know that we missed the mark, and after sending your feedback to the homeowner, they’d like to share the following: - We have addressed these cleanliness specific issues with the cleaning services, and there have been no further complaints since your stay. - We apologize about the garbage pick up; unfortunately, the garbage guy's truck had broken down that week and that is the only service available in our area. - We're sorry that it had rained earlier in the day and leaves and pollen had settled on the boats. They are inflatable boats that can be easily overturned and emptied by guests. - We are to replacing the whole 8 ft wide door and it should be fixed in the near future. - For the holes in the floor, we put down plywood on the floor for safety since we had back-to-back bookings ever since they appeared in July. The floor has now been fixed and they are as good as new. - This is a rural property with well water and you cannot expect the same pressure as you do when you have town supplied water. - There is no cell phone reception on our lake due to the hilly countryside, but we have a home phone that guests are free to use. We provide Wifi that is Satellite and our welcome email clearly states that streaming on the internet is not possible. - Most of all, we encourage guests to reach out to us while they are in residence with any issues so that we can address any concerns quickly for a most comfortable stay. Thanks for taking the time to leave your review!

Hi Hope, thanks for taking the time to review your stay. After reading your feedback, the homeowner wanted to share the following:- We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced with the check-in process. We did send the access code and additional information via email two days before your arrival. I understand you reached out via text, but unfortunately, I was abroad at the time and had already provided all the necessary details in the initial email.- Regarding the road leading to the house, it is a single-lane, unpaved road that is less than a mile long, with a section of about 600 feet running along the lake, as clearly depicted in the aerial photos on our listing. We make every effort to ensure that guests are aware of this before their arrival so they can plan accordingly. Thank you once again for sharing your thoughts with us.

We're so glad you enjoyed the lake and found the house to be a well maintained, perfect spot for your weekend getaway. It means a lot to know the space helped make your time together special. Thank you for sharing your experience!
