Hillcrest Country Estate, Beautiful location in Macedon Ranges

Enjoy your time on this picturesque 10 Acre 5 bedroom home & gardens set on a 110 acre farm with 360 degree views of the Macedon and Cobaw Ranges. Built in the 1860's, the house still has the old charm with two wood fireplaces and modern conveniences.

The house has 5 bedrooms each with a queen or double bed, 2 bathrooms plus a powder room. There are 2 log fires plus deducted gas heating and air conditioning in the main living areas.

The property also has the historic Wattle Hill Barn that was built in 1860 and fully restored in the 1990's. The barn is listed on the historic buildings register for the Macedon Area

Enjoy the gardens and BBQ facilities including outdoor table and chairs plus the new games room located in the original shearing shed.

Great Location in Macedon Ranges

Great location 5 mins drive to Hanging Rock, Lancefield and Romsay. 15 min drive to Woodend and Mt Macedon. Easy access. The property is a working farm so the owners maybe onsite at certain times to tender the farm potentially staying in the Wattlehill Barn which is a separate building on the western side of the main property. Guests will have complete privacy of the main Hillcrest house, games room and gardens during their stay. If you would like to have any farm experience while staying at the property please feel free to reach out to us.

Stunning views, lovely gardens, very comfortable beds and virtually every facility, amenity and the huge range of utensils one could think of, all conveniently available. Had to think hard what was “missing” …. ah ha - an apple corer (not that anyone uses them these days)The internal fire was a major hit during a very cold long weekend. Max temp 8 … feels like -2. Thanks for plenty of firewood, much appreciated.Highly recommend for several days for an extended family or group of close friends. Lots to do locally and very convenient to Melbourne.

Ideal Gathering Location

9 adults and 3 generations came together for 4 nights. Stunning house, loads of space, amazing kitchen with all the implements and pantry basics for gourmet meals, lovely property and such a convenient location. Thanks for sharing this property.

Gorgeous place to relax

This property was perfect for a long weekend away with our adult children and grandchild. The house is very clean and extremely well resourced. The gardens are just gorgeous, with little pockets to enjoy as well as bigger spaces to all come together. Wayne was a terrific host, checking in a couple of times to make sure all was well.

Beautiful property!

We stayed at Hillcrest for a friends wedding at Glen Erin which was only a 2 min drive from the property so very convenient! 5 bedrooms well suited our group of 5 friends, some with partners as well. Fully stocked house, beautiful views and easy communication with owner. The only challenge we had was that it was a very warm weekend and the house gets full sun (with a gorgeous sunrise) so wams up a lot. There was ducted fan and portable air con units but I think it was just 3 full days of warm weather that made the house a bit warm overall but we still loved it and at night was gorgeous to sit outside on the decking once the sun dropped a bit with a view to die for!Recommend also maybe a large umbrella for shade on the decking seating area as it was beautiful to sit at, but unfortunately too hot on these warm days to fully enjoy.Overall fully recommend this property for a large group of friends as plenty of space and all linen and towels provided which makes a weekend super easy!

Awesome experience

This is an amazing property both inside and out. The house is beautifully furnished on the inside but has the country charm on the outside. The gardens and outlook out to the mountains are quite something. We especially liked the fire pit which we used on a really clear night. The kitchen and living space is really big so its perfect for a family or larger group to use. Great location to local wineries as well. Highly recommend a stay at this place.

Escape to the country

Really gorgeous house, combining old and new, resulting in a house with both style and character. And a few quirky things. Overall it’s a very special place and we all enjoyed the opportunity to experience it for the weekend. Wayne was a very helpful host.

I stayed at this property with my bridesmaids the night before my wedding and the night following my wedding. This is one of the most amazing places I’ve ever stayed at. What a beautiful property with so many photo opportunities! Highly recommend staying here!
