Private Cabin On 40+ Acres. Pets Allowed

Property is located on 40 acres. With in 40 minutes from WISP Ski Resort in Deep Creek Lake, MD and 40 minutes from Canaan Valley Ski Resorts, in WV. Close to Blackwater Falls State Park. Hiking, fishing, cross country skiing, ATV riding near by. Sledding, tubing, snow shoeing right on property. Restaurants and shopping in near by Oakland MD, and Davis, WV 20 minuets from cabin.
Additional small cabin right next to main cabin with Washer and Dryer facility's, extra refrigerator, great place for kids to come in to take off clothes and boots from playing in the snow.
This cabin has a fenced in yard for pets. WIFI and DISH TV, and Stereo. Also, a Fire Pit. There is a $40.00 pet fee.
PLEASE NOTE: I occasionally groom dogs in the small grooming shop next to the main cabin. I do not take appointments if you are already booked. At times I will need to have a standing appointment for my regulars.

Host was most welcoming, cabin was clean and shoveled upon arrival. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is excellent, very private and natural.

If you are looking for peace and quiet this is the place for you. Our dogs had so much fun on the property and the cabin itself was the perfect size for us. It's close to multiple state parks with plenty of outdoor recreation and close enough to Morgantown we were able to spend a day with our son. We highly recommend!

Could stay forever!

Great area, nice small place with fenced in area for my dogs to enjoy. Swimming and running - lots of fun. Several towns/restaurants plus parks in area - plenty to do. Hosts were easy and kind - Thank you!!

The home is incredibly peaceful and comfortable, with plenty of land and a short drive to more attractions if for some reason you decide to leave

Beautiful and Serene!

This is a beautiful little slice of heaven on a well maintained property. John and Linda are very welcoming and keep the land in tip-top shape! They gave us many recommendations for local hikes and we saw some beautiful scenery thanks to their suggestions. Got lots of snow and brought in the New Year with a very peaceful stay at a lovely cabin in the mountains and the dogs loved the area and the snow! Thanks again Linda and John, we will be back.

Nice Getaway

Nice cabin with fenced in yard and private and quiet. The Host was very friendly and helpful. Their's nice views all around the cabin. We had deer that came by every late afternoon. My wife and I had a wonderful time.

Quick weekend getaway

Had a great time - the hosts, John and Linda, were very helpful. The property was as advertised - very good condition, clean, great location. Our dog was in heaven - weather was perfect. Nothing to complain about - will keep this place in mind for future trips back to WV.

Gorgeous setting!

We booked this getaway to give our dog a break from city life. He (and we) absolutely loved the gorgeous open space. Our pup had a blast running up and down the hills and playing in the ponds -- with easy clean-up in the grooming hut next to the cabin. We enjoyed the benches on the hill and by the pond to take in the views. The expansive night-time sky was a real treat, too. The bed was very comfortable, and we appreciated the well-stocked kitchen. The little wall heater was more than adequate to warm up the cabin, though there was also central heating if we had needed it. At the host's recommendation, we enjoyed a day-trip to the little town of Thomas and to Blackwater Falls, where the boardwalk and stairs made for easy access to the viewing platform. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. We appreciated the hospitality!

Comfortable, bucolic setting

We stayed here for 3 nights with our two collies and used it as our base camp to go hiking in the many parks, forests and wildlife refuges within 45 minutes drive. This is the most pet friendly place I have ever stayed! The fenced in yard was awesome, as were the slipcovered furniture and access to the doggie wash tub in the grooming cabin next door. The bed was very comfortable and the cabin had everything we needed. The view out over the gorgeous valley with sheep grazing in a pasture was amazing. Nice, but steep little hiking trail on the property. John and Linda answered all our questions quickly. Would definitely stay again!

Perfect Fall Getaway

My husband and I enjoyed our anniversary trip spent at this quaint cabin! The location was perfect for hiking at Blackwater Falls State Park and visiting the nearby towns of Davis and Thomas. The sheep in the field across from the cabin and the nightly visits from deer were a bonus. The only downside was the WiFi wasn’t working but we thankfully had cell service!

Great getaway

We chose this property because dogs are welcomed. The property was perfect for us. They have everything you would need. Even an area to clean you dogs if they get dirty out in nature. We knew we wanted to get out and hike to some close by waterfalls. We are planning to return in the future. Thanks again for allowing to stay.

Wonderful Getaway Surrounded by Nature

We stayed with our two dogs for a spring break getaway. Linda and John were excellent hosts, the cabin was very clean and has everything you need for a short or extended stay. The property is beautiful, and there are many options for enjoying nature just a short drive away. Highly recommend!

Private Getaway

Check in process was smooth and we appreciated John taking the time to show us around the property. The cabin itself is welcoming/inviting and very very private. The stars looked incredible since it’s so dark. They do have floodlights that you can turn on if coming home late which was greatly appreciated. We loved the location, it’s only 20 minutes to Thomas and just a few more to Davis. Only thing we would wish for is a hot tub! Would stay again!

Great Winter Getaway

We had such a great time at John and Linda's - their cabin is cozy and their kitchen had everything we needed to cook ourselves some good dinners. It's in a great location, close to a lot of parks and not too far from Thomas and Davis. John and Linda were great hosts, meeting us when we got there and checking in to make sure we could get out with our cars in the snow. My dog loved staying too and had a great time cozied up by the heater. Would be great in all seasons!

Hidden Gem

This is a gem of a property in midst of a serene setting. Our family stayed here for 4 nights with our 2 dogs. We absolutely loved it. The house is cozy and well furnished with a lot of attention to detail for everything. The owners, Linda and John, were very helpful in making sure we were comfortable. You can hike on the property itself and catch glorious sunsets. It is only a short driving distance to Blackwater Falls. We visited Douglas Falls nearby, and also went hiking in the Cathedral State Park. All the places were absolutely amazing!

Relaxing

Linda and John were great! John met us and provided a welcome brief of the area and about the cabin. It was rainy but still managed to get out and enjoy the surroundings area. Was awesome to bring the pups along as we walked the hills and trails near the cabin. Hope to get back there soon!

If I give this place a great review, I worry it’ll never be available again!

Everything was better than advertised! Every horizontal surface was comfortable, very vertical surface was impeccably decorated. Being able to take a long, varied walk on the property was a huge bonus, and the heating system was perfectly suited to helping warm up after being out in the cold but not overwhelming the house .
