Dog friendly, 3-bedroom cabin with hot tub, king bed and firepit in Oakland

Relax with friends or family at our place in the woods. It’s a perfect get away to unplug and relax, while close to state parks, restaurants and Deep Creek Lake. You will be a 20 minute drive to Swallow Falls and Deep Creek state parks. A 30 minute drive will take you to the towns of Thomas, Davis, and Blackwater Falls state park in WV. Cook up a meal in our fully equipped kitchen. At night, stargaze and relax in the hot tub after a day of sightseeing. Board games and books are available.

Our house is located in Pleasant Valley, about 5 minutes outside of Oakland. We are in farm county. The house is in the middle of the woods on about an acre and a half. Very quiet and peaceful, at times you may only hear the sounds of cow’s mooing and roosters crowing the distance.

You will be a short ride to most attractions:

* 4 miles (about 10 minutes) into downtown Oakland

* 14 miles (about 20 minutes) to Deep Creek State Park

* 12 miles ( about 20 minutes) to Swallow Falls State Park

* 9 miles ( about 18 minutes) to Herrington Manor State Park

* 7 miles ( about 10 minutes) from the White Barn wedding venue* 14 miles (about 25 minutes) to Wisp ski resort

Many great restaurants are within a short drive.

You will find two bedrooms on the main level, one bedroom has a king bed and one has a queen. Go up the spiral staircase and find a bedroom with two twin beds. Each bedroom has blackout curtains to help you get a good nights rest. Ceiling fans in each bedroom will help keep you cool at night.

Cozy up on the couch in front of the wood burning fireplace. Watch a movie on the Roku tv, or play a game. Memories are waiting to be made.

There are two porches, one on the main level, and one upstairs. Both porches have two rocking chairs that are perfect for enjoying morning coffee or watching the sunset in the evening.

There is a deck in the back of the house with a hot tub and table for outdoor dining that seats 6. Hot tub can comfortably seat about 4 adults.

We have a fire pit perfect for s’more making, and a hammock that is a great napping spot.

Please note, there is no air conditioning. In the summer, cracking open the windows to let the mountain air in helps to cool down the house in the evening. We can provide fans for those hotter days.

Given the rural location of the house, occasionally, outside critters may find their way inside. We try our best to keep them out of the house, but cannot guarantee they won’t find their way inside.
