Spacious, Modern, Fully Stocked, Fun for All Ages

The Hermit Crab is a clean, warm and homey 3bd/2ba beach house with a fully stocked kitchen boasting both a living room and loft for socializing, games and movies. There is custom art throughout by a variety of Northwest artists. Just steps down the quiet Sunset Street is miles of pristine sandy beaches where young and old alike enjoy exploring tide pools, and collecting sea shells and more.

The stocked kitchen includes waffle iron, pancake griddle, blender, all size pots and pans, spices, condiments, teas, coffee beans and grinder and more. There is also a plenty of room for all your groceries in the walk-in pantry just off the kitchen.

Bathrooms are clean and stocked with bath towels, hand towels, wash rags, soap, lotion and a hair dryer. The upstairs bathroom has extra shelving so there is room for everyone's items.

The living room has plenty of seating with new leather couches and a comfy recliner centered around the gas fireplace and flat screen TV. The beautiful living room is surrounded by 2 stories windows that give a great open feeling and awesome views of the stars on those clear summer nights.

The open loft overlooks two stories of windows and the living room. It is stocked with games, books, videos, Wii, and a second flat screen TV.. This is a favorite hangout for kids and teens.

Outside the Hermit Crab there are lots of fun actiivies to take advantage of. Take a bike ride around the neighborhood on one of the 3 or 4 bikes ranging from child size to adult.
Play horse shoes along the lavender garden. Hang out on the back deck for refreshments and BBQ. Gather around the campfire in the evening to roast marshmallows, tell stories, sing songs or just enjoy the peace and tranquility of the crackling fire and ocean waves.

When your are ready to call it a night you can sleep like a baby in one of the new plush pillow top beds while the kiddos cozy up in the bunk room setup with 4 twin beds and giggle themselves to sleep.

This beach house was designed for fun and relaxation for all. Once you've experienced the Hermit Crab beach rental you'll want to come back for more!

Neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, beach access was convenient. Upstairs adult room mattress was in poor shape. Only place we have stayed that has made you clean and put away all dishes and wash all bedding prior to departure. Overall stay was good.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hermit Crab. It was everything as advertised, and the owner/property manager Gina was very communicative. We loved the easy beach access, quiet neighborhood, and cozy atmosphere of the home. We had a rainy day during our stay and the working TVs and games, puzzles came in handy for that day! The house was fully stocked with essentials and we and our three littles felt at home right away. Itā€™s a well-cared for and well-maintained property nothing was out of order or missing. Highly recommend!

Great house!

This is a great place to stay with kids! Plenty of space, clean, stocked well, short walk to the beach and the kids loved the loft area with all of the games. Everything is well maintained and the outside space is beautiful. Upon arrival we had an issue with check in but the owner handled it wonderfully and made it right. We would definitely stay here again!

Great short stay

We booked as a part of an extended vacation. Apart from a seafood smell when we came in, the place was clean and comfortable. The beach was a short walk and was amazing- we had it mostly to ourselves and the views were fantastic. All in all, great place and would stay again.

Did not disappoint!

The add and reviews were spot on. This is a nice, clean, welcoming home. It is a short walk to the wonderful beach and we easily went back and forth daily. There is a rinse station outside which made it easy to keep the home nice. The landlord responded quickly when we had questions and was very friendly. We enjoyed staying in the Hermit Crab and would love to again!

Pleasant and Peaceful Property

The house was just a short walk to the beach, had a nice fire pit area and wood provided for us to enjoy nightly campfires. The bikes were in working order and the neighborhood was a safe place to bike with the kids. There was plenty of room inside the house for the seven of us. The kitchen had everything we needed and the fact that there was a washer and dryer in the laundry area was great! We love the board games provided and the soft, plush carpet upstairs. My only complaint which you will never know until you book this place is that the check out rules include doing all of the laundry including all linens, bedding, and towels that you use except for one load before you leave. No one wants to have to do laundry on vacation and this was almost impossible to accomplish with seven guests staying here, meaning that almost all beds were used, before check out time. You are also required to not only load the dishwasher before you leave, but stay until its done and put the dishes away. UGGH! If their rules were like the rest of the places and just had you put all the dirty linens and bedding in the bathtub and load up the dishwasher and let it run, I'd love to come back :)

Amazing location and home!

Amazing time and an absolutely beautiful location. The short walk to the beach made all the difference and the endless beach provided hours of entertainment. From soccer to football to jumping through the waves, and even a run on the beach! The pictures and memories will last and the joy this location brought will always be remembered! We will highly recommend this location and place to others!

Good family stay

We rented this house for my daughter and my two grandsons. It is an older home, but clean. Easy to contact the manager, Gina for any issues. She was quick to respond. My daughter just loved the singing frogs at night. The boys (10 and 13) loved the loft area - was a great hangout. Everyone stated their beds were comfortable. Check in was quick and easy. Overall, the kids would stay here again.

We are a family of 4. We enjoy fishing, crabbing, and doing fun beach stuff like camp fires, building things with driftwood, hunting for sea shells, taking pictures of the nature and the outdoors. As a family we really enjoyed spending time at the beach so we decided to build our Hermit Crab. We were all involved. Our children came up with its name. We designed the layout so that it would create a fun place for playing and sleeping for all ages.It brings us great joy to be able to share what we all enjoy so much with others.

There is something for everyone inside and outside. The open layout with lots of seating allows everyone to be together in comfort. More cooking supplies, spices, condiments, and fresh coffee that any other vacation home you have ever visited!
